Abstract

This community service activity was carried out at the Aneka Keripik Pawon Nayla UMKM located in Blimbing Hamlet, Parakan Village, Rowosari District, Kendal Regency. The main problem faced by partners is that product packaging is still simple and unattractive, only using plain plastic without labels or informative designs. This has an impact on the limited marketing reach and product competitiveness. The purpose of this activity is to increase product selling power by improving packaging design to be more attractive and informative. The implementation methods include: 1) Survey and analysis of existing packaging, 2) Workshop on attractive and informative packaging design, 3) Making a new packaging prototype, 4) Evaluation and refinement of the design. The expected output targets are the creation of a new modern packaging design, increasing product selling value, and publication.

Abstract

This Community Service Program (PKM) aims to provide financial education to early-semester university students at a private institution in Subang. Participants, aged 18–22 and part of Generation Z, are often exposed to consumerist lifestyles and social pressure driven by digital media. The program delivered basic knowledge on financial planning, the risks of online loans (pinjol), and the dangers of impulsive use of pay later services. The educational session was conducted through interactive socialization, guided by lecturers specializing in financial management. A real-life case study was also presented, illustrating how a student became trapped in a cycle of debt due to a lack of financial literacy. The participants showed high enthusiasm, actively engaging in discussions and Q&A sessions. This activity is expected to be an initial step in raising financial awareness among students so they can manage their spending wisely and avoid falling into consumer debt traps.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to enhance the understanding and capacity of business actors, institution managers, and the general public in effectively managing human resources in the era of digitalization. The rapid development of information technology demands significant changes in HR management strategies, including recruitment, training, communication, and performance management. Through educational programs in the form of seminars, interactive training, and group discussions, this activity provides practical insights into the use of digital technology to support human resource management. The materials presented include the implementation of human resource information system (HRIS) databases, the use of social media for recruitment, and the challenges of balancing technology with a human-centered approach. Evaluation results show that participants experienced an increase in understanding and motivation to implement team management strategies that are adaptive to changing times. Identified challenges include limited digital infrastructure, low technological literacy, and resistance to change. This activity is expected to be a tangible contribution to improving the quality of human resource management at the local level, while also encouraging community readiness to face the challenges of globalization and digitalization.

Abstract

This study aims to assess the impact of training on the use of information technology, particularly Microsoft Excel, in the preparation of financial statements within small and medium enterprises (SMEs) of the Digital-Based Chicken Farmers Group. Accurate and timely financial management is crucial for business sustainability, yet many SMEs struggle with effectively organizing and compiling their financial reports due to limited technical skills and access to appropriate tools. This research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive methodology, utilizing interviews, direct observations, and comparative analysis of financial data before and after the training intervention. The training focused on improving participants’ skills in using Microsoft Excel to create income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports. The findings indicate a significant enhancement in the ability of SME managers to utilize Excel’s features such as formulas, tables, charts, and data analysis tools. As a result, the financial statements produced became more accurate, timely, and professionally structured. Moreover, the training positively impacted participants' confidence in utilizing digital tools for financial management, enabling better strategic planning and decision-making based on reliable financial data. Despite these improvements, the study also identifies ongoing challenges, such as the need for continuous training and support, particularly in more advanced Excel functions and other relevant software tools. The research concludes that targeted training in digital tools significantly contributes to the enhancement of financial literacy and operational efficiency in SMEs. Furthermore, it underscores the necessity for continuous professional development and the integration of broader digital solutions—including inventory and marketing systems—to support long-term business growth, adaptability, and competitiveness in an increasingly digital economy

Abstract

Calcium is the most important nutrient for bone formation and to see whether there is disease in the bones, one of which is osteoporosis. Smokers are very susceptible to osteoporosis, nicotine substances contained in cigarettes can accelerate bone absorption. In addition to bone absorption, nicotine also reduces the level and activity of the hormone estrogen in the body so that the structures of bone cells are not strong in the face of weathering. This study aimed to determine blood calcium levels in construction workers who smoke in the Karangpawitan District, Garut Regency. The type of research used is descriptive, the sample in this study is 28 people who fit the inclusion criteria and are willing to be respondents. The sample selection method uses purposive sampling. The results showed that respondents with normal calcium levels (8.2 mg/dL-10 mg/dL) totaled 24 respondents (85.8%), low calcium levels were 4 respondents (14.2%) and no respondents had high calcium levels. From the research, it can be concluded that normal calcium levels occurred in 24 respondents, low calcium levels occurred in 4 respondents, and none had high calcium levels.

Abstract

The spiritual counseling activity themed “Faithfulness to God in Proverbs 3:1–8” aims to explore the meaning of faithfulness from a Biblical perspective and its relevance to the daily lives of the congregation. Faithfulness to God is understood not merely as a moral obligation, but as a response arising from an intimate and deep relationship with God, manifested through a commitment to live according to His commands in every aspect of life. This activity employed a monologue sermon method, enriched with illustrations and personal testimonies to deepen the congregation’s understanding of the message delivered. Observations showed an increase in the comprehension of the verses discussed, deeper personal reflection, and a strengthened commitment among the congregation to live faithfully to God. Active participation in the form of questions and discussions indicated a positive reception of the message. The evaluation of the activity revealed that the implementation ran smoothly without significant obstacles. Recommended follow-up actions include further training on the theme of faithfulness, strengthening small groups or family Bible studies, and encouraging the congregation’s involvement in ministry as a tangible expression of their faithfulness to God. Thus, faithfulness to God is regarded as a foundational key to a blessed and peaceful life.

Abstract

Public speaking is one of the essential interpersonal skills that must be possessed to compete in both the professional and entrepreneurial world, especially for the younger generation. Based on observations, many students still lack confidence when speaking in public, including students of SMK Saintek Nurul Muslimin. The seminar and training activity themed "Enhancing Understanding of Public Speaking as an Interpersonal Skill for the Young Generation Entering the Workforce and Entrepreneurship" aims to improve participants' understanding of the importance of public speaking as an interpersonal skill and equip them with effective public speaking techniques. The implementation method includes a seminar and training on the significance of interpersonal skills and how to become a good public speaker. Beyond theory, participants also have the opportunity to directly practice basic public speaking techniques and engage in role-playing with the speakers. This activity was conducted at SMK Saintek Nurul Muslimin and attended by 76 participants, comprising 12th-grade students from several schools in Batujaya Subdistrict and members of the general public. The results of this seminar and training indicate that participants were able to enhance their confidence in applying public speaking skills

Abstract

Currently, the government is encouraging land conservation and land rehabilitation efforts, such as reforestation and reforestation. Intended to maintain soil fertility, restore critical land, and improve water management. To achieve this goal, damaged land can be repaired by preserving bamboo plants as reforestation and rehabilitation plants. By preserving bamboo, damaged land will function properly again in a relatively short time, so that natural resources of forests, land, and water can be utilized properly. The purpose of this community service is to strengthen the soil structure through bamboo planting in Ubedolumolo I Village, Bajawa District, Ngada Regency. The method of implementing this community service activity is a survey and direct planting in the field in several locations in Ubedolumolo I Village which has a land area for cultivating bamboo plants as an effort to preserve through land rehabilitation and soil conservation in the area around the springs and rivers of Ubedolumolo I Village. The results of community service show that planting bamboo can improve and strengthen the soil structure and increase water debit in the spring and river areas. The bamboo lestari foundation plays an active role in bamboo cultivation as an alternative to strengthening the soil structure to be better

Abstract

Indonesia is the second-largest country in the world where its population still practices open defecation (OD). This leads to around 150,000 Indonesian children dying each year due to various diseases caused by poor sanitation. Yobeh Village is one of the villages located on the shores of Lake Sentani in Jayapura District, Jayapura Regency. The purpose of this community service is to provide education on the use of the Floating Toilet Model to reduce environmental impacts and prevent the spread of diseases in Yobeh Village, Sentani District, Jayapura City, Jayapura Regency. The method used is socialization and a question-and-answer approach. The results of the socialization showed an increase in knowledge, as the community responded well and shared the issues they had been facing, such as the health impacts of open defecation. The awareness of the community changed, and they began to realize the importance of using a proper toilet (Floating Toilet). Community participation showed high enthusiasm with many questions and responses from the participants, creating a dialogue between the presenter/speaker and the residents. This activity successfully improved the knowledge, awareness, and participation of the community regarding the importance of using toilets in the lake area.

Abstract

Empowering catfish cultivation has great potential to improve community welfare, especially for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and Karang Taruna groups. This program aims to optimize local resources in Pesantren Village, Mijen District, Semarang City, through training in sustainable catfish cultivation. The methods used include technical training, mentoring, and providing initial facilities. The use of e-commerce in Empowering of catfish cultivation is expected to have a positive impact, both economically and socially.
