Abstract

Migrant workers are a simple term that may be familiar to students and students at Ihsaniyah High School in Tegal City. However, their understanding of the necessary preparation and legal risks that can threaten safety when working abroad, especially if they are illegal migrant workers and minors, are still very limited. In today's social reality, Indonesia's young generation is faced with various structural challenges, such as fierce competition in the world of work, high rates of educated unemployment, inequality in access to education and health, and declining trust in political stability and law enforcement. This condition triggers some of them to look for job opportunities abroad, which are considered more promising in terms of income and better life opportunities. Unfortunately, many of them do not understand the legal consequences and safety risks of working illegally abroad. Therefore, this community service activity (abdimas) is carried out with the aim of providing comprehensive information and repeated education to students. This socialization discusses official regulations related to migrant workers, legal procedures for working abroad, and legal threats to illegal migrant workers. Activity methods include lectures, discussions, and interactive counseling designed to help students understand the dangers and risks of being an illegal migrant worker, including the possibility of becoming a victim or even a perpetrator of a criminal act. The results of the activity showed that students' understanding of the threat of criminal sanctions, legal protection, and the importance of preparing skills and official documents before working abroad has significantly increased. With this activity, it is hoped that students will be wiser in planning for the future, including choosing a career path that is safe, legal, and in accordance with applicable regulations.

Abstract

This study presents an innovative granular fertilizer spreader made from maggot waste, designed as an appropriate technology to improve agricultural efficiency and sustainability in Karyasari Village. The development process, using a participatory approach and a descriptive-qualitative method, aimed to address the common challenge of organic fertilizer distribution, especially for farmers with large fields but limited physical capacity due to age or health issues. The tool leverages nutrient-rich maggot residue, or frass, to ensure more uniform and efficient fertilizer application across vast agricultural lands. By utilizing frass, the tool not only provides an environmentally friendly solution by reducing the use of chemical fertilizers but also supports sustainable farming practices. Field trials conducted in the village revealed significant positive impacts. The innovation reduced the time to harvest by up to two weeks and increased crop yields by 20–30%, demonstrating its effectiveness in improving both agricultural productivity and efficiency. Additionally, this tool offers economic benefits, as it minimizes reliance on expensive chemical fertilizers, which are often financially burdensome for farmers in rural areas. Beyond its practical application in farming, the tool contributes to ecological benefits by promoting the use of local organic waste, such as maggot frass, as a resource. This process not only supports the sustainability of agriculture but also empowers rural communities by reducing waste and creating a more circular and resilient farming system. The findings highlight the potential of integrating appropriate technology with local organic waste as a strategic and effective approach for fostering sustainable agriculture in rural areas, ultimately contributing to both economic and environmental development. This innovation demonstrates how technology can serve as a key driver of rural empowerment and sustainable agricultural practices.

Abstract

Business Work Lecture (KKU) is a form of community service activity carried out by students with the aim of applying the knowledge gained during lectures to the real world, especially in the business and industrial sectors. This activity not only provides practical experience, but also equips students with additional skills, such as managerial, communication, and problem-solving skills, so that they are better prepared to face the professional world of work. One of the partners in the implementation of KKU YPPI Rembang University is the UMKM Tria Production, which operates in the fields of cakes, catering, and decoration. This UMKM is located in Tireman Village RT 1 RW 2, Rembang District, Rembang Regency. Tria Production has great potential to grow because its culinary products and decoration services are quite attractive and have broad market opportunities. However, this UMKM still faces several obstacles, especially in terms of branding which causes this business to be less well-known among the wider community, both around Rembang and outside the area. The identified problems included: (1) lack of proper financial management, resulting in unstructured financial records and reports; (2) limited social media promotion, resulting in suboptimal market reach; and (3) unattractive logo designs for cakes, catering, and decorations that did not optimally represent the business's identity. Through the month-long KKU program, students sought to provide concrete solutions. The program yielded several outputs: (1) a standing banner to clarify the business's location and make it more easily recognizable to the public; (2) the creation of a new logo as a more attractive and memorable brand identity; and (3) a promotional banner to expand information about the products and services offered. Therefore, the KKU program is expected to enhance the branding of the Tria Production MSME, making it better known to the public and enhancing its competitiveness.

Abstract

The problem of non-organic waste that is difficult to decompose has become a significant environmental issue in various regions, both urban and rural. To answer this challenge, the student team of the Student Work Lecture (KKM) 41 Year 2025 together with lecturers from the Industrial Engineering Study Program carried out community service activities in Mekarsari Village by designing and building waste incinerators based on appropriate technology, namely environmentally friendly and low-smoke rocket stoves. This activity was carried out through several stages, including initial surveys, location mapping, tool development, and evaluation of effectiveness by the local community. The rocket stove developed is designed to withstand combustion temperatures of up to 4000°C, with chimney temperatures ranging from 2000°C to 2500°C, and a maximum burning time of only 20 minutes. This efficiency shows that the combustion process takes place optimally. The sealed design with tight insulation using cement and hebel materials makes this tool safe, efficient, and environmentally friendly. This technology not only significantly reduces the volume of non-organic waste, but also reduces the impact of air pollution due to combustion fumes. Through a participatory and educational approach, the people of Mekarsari Village are actively involved in the process of building and utilizing tools, so that collective understanding and awareness of the importance of sustainable waste management is created. The results of this activity are expected to be an applicative solution in non-organic waste control at the local level, and can be replicated in other regions with similar characteristics. Thus, this service activity contributes to environmental preservation and improving the quality of life of the community through appropriate technological innovations.

Abstract

Cervical cancer is one of the most common causes of death in women, especially in developing countries. Despite its high prevalence, many women, particularly women of childbearing age (WUS), still lack understanding of the importance of early cervical cancer prevention. One factor contributing to this low awareness is the social stigma that considers discussing reproductive health taboo. Therefore, raising awareness through health education is crucial to addressing this issue. This community service program aims to increase the knowledge of WUS in Waipirit Village about cervical cancer and how to prevent it early. The health education provided includes lectures on cervical cancer, risk factors, and the importance of routine screenings such as Pap smears and HPV vaccination as preventative measures. Furthermore, a question-and-answer session was held to provide participants with the opportunity to ask questions and seek clarification on the information they received. The method used in this activity was interactive health education, with active participant involvement. Through this approach, it is hoped that WUS will gain a better understanding and feel more comfortable discussing their reproductive health. The analysis of the pre- and post-test activities showed a significant increase in knowledge among participants after attending the counseling. This increase in knowledge was not limited to medical aspects, but also emphasized the importance of early cervical cancer prevention through routine examinations and HPV vaccination. This increased understanding indicates that the health education provided can be an effective preventative measure and is expected to reduce the number of deaths from cervical cancer in the region. Going forward, more intensive and sustainable activities should be continued, involving a wider community to increase awareness of the importance of early cervical cancer prevention.

Abstract

Bullying and juvenile delinquency are social phenomena that not only negatively impact individual psychological and emotional development but also have broad implications for social harmony, school stability, and the quality of the future generation of young people. This situation demands systematic and structured efforts to prevent and address it, so that adolescents can develop in a safe, healthy, and supportive environment. The community service program implemented in Mekarsari Village, Sajira District, Lebak Regency, Banten, was implemented in response to this need, with the primary goal of increasing awareness, knowledge, and skills in preventing bullying and juvenile delinquency among junior high school students and their accompanying teachers. The program was designed using interactive outreach methods, group discussions, role-playing, and ongoing mentoring that emphasized the active involvement of all participants. The results of the activity showed a significant increase in participants' understanding of the definitions, types, impacts, and strategies for handling bullying and juvenile delinquency. Furthermore, the program succeeded in bringing about real changes in student behavior, marked by a decrease in conflict, increased positive communication, and the growth of a culture of mutual respect in the school environment. One manifestation of creativity in this program is the symbolic activity of handprinting with colored paint on a large banner as a declaration of collective commitment to fight bullying. Positive impacts are also seen in teachers who are better prepared to identify potential problematic behavior and provide appropriate guidance to their students. The environment of SMP Negeri 4 Sajira is now beginning to show a safer, more conducive, and supportive atmosphere for adolescent development. In conclusion, this community service activity has proven effective in raising awareness, changing behavior, and building a shared commitment to fight bullying and juvenile delinquency. Therefore, similar programs are highly recommended for replication in other schools to create a stronger, more integrated, and positively competitive young generation.
