Abstract

This study aims to enhance the understanding of tax regulations among Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Bengkulu, Indonesia, and provide guidance on utilizing tax incentives through proper accounting practices. The research was conducted through a community service program for Liquid Fotocopy SME in Bengkulu, involving training sessions and direct mentoring to teach simple accounting methods for tax compliance. Workshops, surveys, and feedback mechanisms were employed to assess participants' comprehension of accounting and tax obligations. The study found significant improvement in participants' knowledge and skills in managing their businesses, particularly through practical accounting practices, which boosted their motivation and confidence. This enabled them to implement accurate tax calculations, especially once their revenue surpassed the personal tax allowance (PTKP). The findings highlight that training SMEs in basic accounting and tax regulations is crucial for improving financial management and complying with tax obligations. The study is limited to one SME in Bengkulu, with no consideration for regional variations or challenges faced by other SMEs in Indonesia.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to empower mothers in Penantian Village, Ogan Komering Ulu Regency, South Sumatra, through training in making tempeh chips as an effort to strengthen the family economy. The main problems faced by the local community are limited food processing skills and low family income. The implementation method includes counseling, demonstration of making tempeh chips, direct practice, packaging assistance, and introduction to simple marketing strategies. The results of the activity showed that participants gained new knowledge and skills in producing tempeh chips hygienically and with sales value. This training also increased the motivation and confidence of mothers to start home businesses. It is hoped that this program can be the first step in creating sustainable independent business opportunities and contribute to improving the economic welfare of families in Penantian Village

Abstract

MSME actors in Sei Rejo Village face infrastructure limitations, low access to digital training, and a lack of guidance, which result in inadequate levels of digital literacy. These challenges prompted the service team to carry out a community engagement activity for MSMEs in Sei Rejo Village, Sei Rampah Sub-district, Serdang Bedagai Regency, to promote awareness of digital literacy and data security. The activity was conducted in the form of a socialization session aimed at improving entrepreneurs’ understanding of the importance of digital literacy and data protection. The session was attended by 20 participants. This community engagement was implemented using a participatory approach through socialization, training, and mentoring methods. The stages of the activity included preparation, implementation, and assistance. This initiative had a positive impact on MSME actors in Sei Rejo Village. The training not only provided conceptual understanding but also practical skills, such as the use of social media for promotion, utilization of cashier applications and digital wallets, and techniques for personal data protection. It also broadened participants' insights on the importance of building consumer trust through secure and professional information management.

Abstract

The final project report on the production of the feature video “Menyemai Harapan, Memanen Kebersamaan” is motivated by the urgency of food security amid the urbanization of Bandung City and the need to highlight about community-based sustainable local alternative agriculture systems. This final project report highlights the role of the Director of Photography (DoP) in presenting the Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) model at Seni Tani through an engaging and informative audiovisual video. The primary objective of this report is to explain the implementation of image taking techniques, including shot types, camera angles, camera movements, and framing, as executed by the Director of Photography (DoP) during the production process. The production stages include pre-production (idea development, concept, storyboard, and shot list), production (application of image taking techniques during the shooting of local alternative farming activities at Seni Tani), and post-production (editing process and voice-over recording). The final product is a feature video that emphasizes visual storytelling to reinforce the informative and persuasive message about community-based sustainable local alternative agriculture systems at Seni Tani. The conclusion of this report indicates that the mastery of filming techniques by the Director of Photography (DoP) plays a crucial role in conveying messages visually and emotionally to the audience, thereby making this video feature an effective communication medium in raising public awareness about community-based sustainable local alternative agriculture systems.

Abstract

The animated video “Rokok Elektrik Bukan Pilihan” is an educational work aiming to raise awareness among youth about the dangers of using electronic cigarettes. This project utilizes the graphic match cut technique as a visual strategy to strengthen continuity between scenes and smooth visual transitions. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the technique in enhancing educational message delivery through animated media. The method used is a production study with a descriptive qualitative approach through direct observation of the creative process from pre-production to post-production. The results indicate that the implementation of graphic match cut successfully creates a cohesive narrative flow, enhances emotional impact, and increases audience engagement in understanding the message content. These findings suggest that animation with appropriate visual approaches can serve as an effective and engaging medium for health education.

Abstract

The Cikal Teacher Campus internship program is a vehicle for strengthening students' pedagogical competence through innovative learning based on the principles of Merdeka Belajar. This activity was carried out for 21 weeks at SMA Plus Teknologi Sukabumi with a design thinking approach and a self-directed learning model. The purpose of this activity is to create collaborative learning innovations across subjects that answer real problems in the classroom. The activity method uses a participatory approach through observation, teaching assistance, prototype preparation, and classroom trials. The results of the community service show an increase in student participation, understanding of cross-disciplinary materials, and entrepreneurial skills based on local potential. This activity shows that a contextual, collaborative, and student-centered learning approach can increase the effectiveness of learning and the relevance of education at the secondary school level.

Abstract

Digital transformation in public services at public universities requires adaptation not only from a technological perspective but also from a user experience and satisfaction perspective. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach to in-depth explore user perceptions, experiences, and expectations of the one-stop service at the University of North Sumatra (USU) Integrated Service Unit (ULT) in 2023. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with students and staff, direct observation of service processes at the ULT, and analysis of policy documents and user feedback. The analysis was conducted using the SERVQUAL framework, which highlights five key dimensions: tangibles, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy. The results indicate that the majority of users view the digitalization of ULT services as a positive step, facilitating access, accelerating administrative processes, and increasing transparency. Responsiveness and reliability were the most dominant factors in shaping satisfaction, particularly due to the online ticketing system and real-time notifications that expedite request processing. However, several challenges were also identified, such as limited physical facilities in the waiting room, the need for digital training for some users, and the expectation for the development of more varied self-service features. This study confirms that the success of one-stop shop transformation in higher education is determined not only by technological innovation but also by the institution's ability to holistically understand user needs and aspirations. Practical implications of this research include the need to improve digital literacy, strengthen service infrastructure, and develop sustainable feedback mechanisms to ensure inclusive, responsive, and user-oriented public services. These findings also enrich the literature on public administration in Indonesia, particularly in the context of user experience-based digital service evaluation in the post-pandemic era.

Abstract

Physical and mental changes in the elderly can have an impact on the health of the elderly. Dementia is one of the main health problems experienced by the elderly, characterized by decreased cognitive function that impacts quality of life and independence. Lack of public understanding of early detection, treatment, and prevention of dementia increases the risk of delayed treatment and worsens the condition of the elderly. This community service aims to increase knowledge and awareness of dementia through interactive seminars for the elderly and their families at GKI Sepanjang Sidoarjo. The results of the interactive seminar showed that the percentage of correct answers in the post-test increased by 13.14% from the pre-test. As many as five out of 10 questions with correct answers amounted to more than 50% of the total respondents. Judging from the answers obtained, program participants were not familiar with examples of cognitive functions and the definition of Hoarding Syndrome. At the end of this activity, there was an increase in participants' understanding of improving the health of the elderly, but there were still questions that participants could not answer. In conclusion, this activity succeeded in increasing health literacy related to dementia among the elderly and their families at GKI Sepanjang Sidoarjo, but other educational methods or media are needed to further increase the knowledge of the elderly regarding dementia.

Abstract

The utilization of Internet of Things (IoT) technology in the agricultural sector offers an innovative solution to overcome the inefficiencies of traditional irrigation systems, which are still commonly applied in vocational education environments such as SMKN 2 Tanah Putih. This study aims to design and implement an automatic irrigation system based on IoT using soil moisture sensors, an Arduino microcontroller, and an ESP8266 communication module. The system enables real-time monitoring and control of plant watering via an internet-based application. The implementation results demonstrate increased efficiency in water usage and more optimal plant maintenance compared to conventional methods. By integrating technology into learning practices and school-based agricultural activities, this project not only supports local food security efforts but also provides a concrete contribution to the adoption of sustainable agriculture in educational institutions.

Abstract

The implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education—education, research, and community service—continues to face various challenges, particularly due to limited resources and a lack of synergy among lecturers from different institutions. This study aims to examine strategies for strengthening inter-university lecturer collaboration networks as a means to optimize the implementation of the Tri Dharma. A qualitative method was used, with a case study approach involving several universities in Indonesia that have established inter-institutional collaborations. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis, then analyzed thematically. The findings indicate that structured collaborative networks can enhance teaching efficiency, strengthen the quality of joint research, and broaden the impact of community service programs. Key supporting factors include shared vision, institutional support, and effective communication platforms. The implications of this study highlight the importance of institutional policies that promote cross-university collaboration as a sustainable strategy to empower lecturers in carrying out the Tri Dharma more effectively and with greater impact.
