Abstract

Abstract. This research is a quantitative descriptive study that aims to determine the level of students' writing skills in simple sentences. The population in this study were students of class XI SMA Negeri 1 Makassar, totaling 360 students from 12 classes. The sample of this research is the students of class XI MIPA 1 SMAN 1 Makassar, totaling 30 students with random sampling. The research data was obtained through a simple sentence writing skill test and a questionnaire. The data were analyzed using the percentage technique. The results of the study of students' writing skills in simple sentences were in the very good category (91%). The results of the questionnaire from students' opinions stated that it was important in practicing German writing skills (76.7%) as an external factor.

Abstract

Abstract. This research was a classroom action research which consisted of two cycles and was conducted online.  This study was aimed to determine the improvement of German vocabularies mastery of Nine Senior High School Makassar’s Students Grade X MIA by using Kahoot media.  The data in this study consisted of two types of data, including qualitative data and quantitative data.  Qualitative data was obtained through observation, while quantitative data was obtained through the results of the first and second cycles of vocabularies mastery tests.  The data were analyzed using the percentage technique.  The results showed that the mastery of German vocabularies’ average score which obtained by the students in the first cycle reached 65% and the second cycle reached 85%.  These results indicated that the use of Kahoot media could improve the mastery of German vocabularies of Nine Senior High School Makassar’s Students Grade X MIA

Abstract

Abstract. The objectives of this study are (i) to describe exercise typology in books of title “Cool: Spaβ beim Deutschlernen” and “Kontakte Deutsch Extra”; (ii) to describe the suitability of exercise typology in both of the books with Curriculum 2013. This research applied descriptive qualitative method. The data were collected through documentation and direct identification using classification table of typology exercise and describe the suitability of the exercises and the curriculum of 2013. The result of the research shows that: (i) the exercises in “Cool: Spaβ beim Deutschlernen” and “Kontakte Deutsch Extra” have already include the four levels exercises by Neuner, those are on the level A of the book “Cool: Spaβ beim Deutschlernen” there are 41 exercises and 137 exercises in the “Kontakte Deutsch Extra”. On the level B, there are 44 exercises in the book “Cool: Spaβ beim Deutschlernen” and 103 exercises in the “Kontakte Deutsch Extra”. For the level C, there are 22 exercises of the book “Cool: Spaβ beim Deutschlernen” and 48 exercises in the “Kontakte Deutsch Extra”. For the level D, there are 6 exercises in the book “Cool: Spaβ beim Deutschlernen” and 5 exercises in the “Kontakte Deutsch Extra”; (ii) the exercises in “Cool: Spaβ beim Deutschlernen” and “Kontakte Deutsch Extra” are already suitable with the four language skills and scientific approach in curriculum 2013.

Abstract

Abstract. This study aims to analyze the lingual form and to describe the phenomenon of naming place in Lahu village, Talaud regency, North Sulawesi Province with Talaud language as the object. Naming places refers to ethno linguistics study, a study that examining language and history. When it is formed, where it comes from, and what the reasons for naming it often become the main topics in research. For the purpose of analysis, the researcher examines the lingual form and the process of word formation. After that, the writer describes the determinant factors of naming places. This is a qualitative study with descriptive approach. In collecting data, the researcher uses listening and speaking method from Mahsun (2005). The listening method is used to collect data in the lingual form and phenomenon of naming place which appear in a speech. The Padan and Distribution are the method used to analysis data. These method process two data analyzing techniques, namely (1) Intralingual and (2) Technique of analyzing the smallest element. According to the research result, stem dominates the naming of places beside caused by affixation, reduplication and composition. For example: Niure [niure] ‘took back, Soa [soa] ‘vilage, Tatarangan [tataraµan] ‘track’, Linturran [incline] ‘turunan’, Ritawu [ritawu] ‘lose track’, Wawombatu, [wawombatu] ‘rock hill’, Panentean [panentean] ‘hillside, Nato [nato] ‘wood Nyato or Nato. Name of the land with the above lingual form is identity of the location. It is an inseparable part of a process. It is believed that naming a place is part of ancestral experience that has attempted to mark and to give identity on every known land location. In terms of naming place domination, the writer finds seven dominations. They are soil structure, plants, lake, process of morphologies, history, adjective, and object. Kata kunci: Toponymy, Talaud Language, Lahu

Abstract

Abstract. The aim of this research is to examine the effectives cooperative learning model type complete sentence in mastering German vocabulary of students XI class at SMA Negeri 14 Gowa. This research is Quasi-experimental reasearch. The data was collected by reading comprehension test and was analyzed by using t-test. Population of this research was 306 students from 9 class. Sampel was selected by using simple random sampling  where XI IPA 4 class with 36 students as experimental class and XI IPA 5 class with 35 students as control class. The result showed t-count is higher that t-table (t-count4,87 > t-table 1,997) with alpha significant level 0,05. It revealed that cooperative learning model type complete sentence is effective in mastering German vocabulary of XI students at SMA 14 Gowa.

Abstract

Abstract. Discussing research that aims to develop student motivation and learning outcomes with the application of non-examples learning models  class XI MIPA 5 SMA Negeri 16 Makassar. This research is in its stages using class action research. The data in this study is an observation sheet and test results with primary and secondary data sources. The data analysis technique is to use criteria and assessment rubrics. The results of the study found that there were significant positive changes related to students' interests and motivations for learning, such as activeness, curiosity, and student responsibility. Evident from the increase in the average observation sheet containing these indicators which reached 75.2 at the end of cycle II. Meanwhile, the average student learning outcome also showed an increase in prescience of 54.39 increased to 62.14 at the end of cycle I and experienced a good increase at the end of cycle II to 75.14 or 81% with the number of students reaching KKM as many as 29 out of 36 students.Keyword: Motivation to learn, learning outcomes, examples non examples

Abstract

Abstract. The purpose of this study is to obtain data and information about the effectiveness of Google Classroom as a learning medium in reading learning to understand German language for students of class XI MIA MAN 1 Makassar. This research is a quasi-experimental research with the form of Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The research population was students of class XI MIA MAN 1 Makassar, the samples in the study were selected randomly (random sampling), which students of class XI MIA 4 as the experimental class and students of class XI MIA 3 as the control class. Data were analyzed using t-test analysis which showed the value of t count = 4.347 ≥ t table = 2.03, with a significance level of 0.05. The results of this study indicate that the Google Classroom learning media is effective in reading learning to understand German language of students in Class XI MAN 1 Makassar.

Abstract

Abstract. This research is a classroom action research conducted with 2 cycles. This study aims to determine the planning, process, and learning outcomes by using animated videos in the skills of writing descriptive essays in German for the XII grade students of SMAN 11 Makassar. This research data consists of two types, namely qualitative data and quantitative data. Qualitative data was obtained through observation, while quantitative data was obtained through writing skills tests in cycle I and cycle II. The data were analyzed using the percentage technique. The results showed that writing skills with the percentage of scores obtained by students in the first cycle reached 65.71 and the second cycle reached 78.28. These results indicate that the application of animated video learning media improves the writing skills of German language description essays for class XII students of SMA Negeri 11 Makassar.

Abstract

Abstract. The purpose of this study was to obtain data on mastery in making perfect sentences for class XII IIS students of SMA Negeri 11 Makassar. This research is quantitative descriptive. The population of this study was the 106 students of class XII IIS SMA Negeri 11 Makassar. The sample of this study used a random sampling technique, namely the 36 students of class XII IIS 1 SMA Negeri 11 Makassar. The results of data analysis using the percentage technique. The results of this study indicate that the level of mastery of the perfect sentence form of class XII IIS SMA Negeri 11 Makassar is 67% enough.

Abstract

Abstract. The purpose of this study was to determine the mastery of German vocabulary in class X IPA 1 SMA Negeri 4 Selayar using domino card learning media. The type of research used is Classroom Action Research which consists of two cycles, namely cycle I and cycle II. The subjects in this study were students of class X IPA 1 SMA Negeri 4 Selayar, totaling 30 people. Data analysis techniques in this study consisted of qualitative and quantitative. Qualitative data was obtained through observation while quantitative data was obtained through vocabulary improvement tests in cycle I and cycle II. The results of the German vocabulary mastery test showed that the average score in the first cycle was 73.20 and the second cycle was 86.29. The results of this study indicate that the domino card media can increase the German vocabulary of class X students of SMA Negeri 4 Selayar.Keyword: Enhancement, Vocabulary, Dominoes Card Media
