Abstract

The Geopark Weaving Group is one of the business groups located in Air Batu Village. This weaving group supports the development of the tourist village by continuously developing and improving its products. However, the group faces several challenges, including the lack of social media accounts and limited skills in creating attractive product photography. The purpose of this community service activity was to improve marketing by focusing on the application of digital technology through social media and product photography. The implementation of these technologies is expected to enhance product promotion, expand the market in the digital era, and support the development of the tourist village through continuous product innovation. Following the community service activity, the weaving group successfully established social media accounts and acquired the ability to create attractive product photographs, although they are still in the learning stage. The weaving business group expressed great appreciation for the assistance provided by the KKNT students in supporting the development of Air Batu Tourism Village. In addition to implementing the community service program, the students also participated in various activities conducted by the village community, including teaching at schools, supporting community health services (Posyandu), participating in arts activities, and other community programs. The methods used in this community service activity were lectures, discussions, and training. It is expected that the partners will cooperate actively and participate throughout the implementation of the program so that the established objectives can be achieved.

Abstract

This paper sought to investigate the relationship between oversight mechanisms and ethical work climate using a quantitative research approach. Data were collected through a pre-coded structured questionnaire to obtain respondents’ views on the study variables and were analyzed using SPSS and PLS-SEM to examine the relationships among the variables. The findings confirmed the main hypothesis that oversight mechanisms have a positive relationship with ethical work climate and further validated agency theory, highlighting the essential role of independent oversight agencies in shaping managers’ ethical behavior within their work environments. The originality of this study lies in its investigation of the combined roles of four oversight mechanism functions internal audit, audit committees, external audit, and parliamentary public accountability committees in influencing the ethical work climate of municipal local governments in a developing country context.

Abstract

The younger generation today plays a strategic role in efforts to improve quality in the field of agriculture. Sungai Duren Village is one of the oldest villages in Jambi Province. This village is divided into three hamlets: Tuo Hamlet, Baru Hamlet, and Pasir Raya Hamlet. Looking at the population data, it shows that the farmers in Desa Sungai Duren are predominantly aged between 45-60 years. The potential that can be developed in the village becomes one of the supporting factors for the village innovation program that takes the theme of a young farmer studio with the title "Empowerment of Youth Supporting the Productivity of Horticultural Plants Based on Hydroponics." Therefore, our team has a solution for empowering the youth in Sungai Duren Village, Jambi Luar Kota District, which will focus on increasing the productivity of horticultural plants through hydroponic methods. Hydroponics is a planting technique that does not use soil, but rather uses a nutrient-containing water solution as the growing medium. Therefore, this program aims to involve the younger generation in modern agriculture, enhance skills, and encourage innovation in plant cultivation.

Abstract

This community service program aimed to enhance teachers’ understanding of the conceptual framework of the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) and improve their skills in developing locally contextualized assessment items. The activity responded to teachers’ limited ability to design questions requiring critical thinking and problem-solving, as well as their lack of experience in applying contextual tasks in classrooms. The program involved conceptual framework dissemination, training and mentoring on item development, classroom implementation, and evaluation through pre-tests, post-tests, response sheets, and classroom observations. Twenty-one participants, including teachers from Al-Arief Islamic schools and students from Jambi University, actively engaged in all stages. Results showed an increase in average scores from 2.62 to 4.04, with an N-Gain of 0.60 (moderate). Teachers’ knowledge, experience with assessment tasks, and problem-solving strategies all improved significantly. The novelty lies in integrating local contexts into item design, which strengthened teachers’ conceptual understanding and readiness for classroom implementation. The training proved effective in building teachers’ capacity and supporting more relevant and contextual teaching practices.
