Abstract

Kodingareng Island has the largest population compared to 10 other islands in the Makassar City area. With a population of 4,526 people consisting of 2,276 men including the elderly in it and 2,250 women including the elderly in it, it has as many as 1,081 Heads of Families (KK), the majority of whom work as fishermen. Based on observations made in Kodingareng Village, the average elderly suffered in RW 01, 03, 06, namely hypertension only 70% (21 people), complications of Diabetes mellitus + hypertension 27% (8 people), only 7% diabetes mellitus ( 2 persons). Community service needs to be carried out with health assessments and education about Hypertension and Diabetes Mellitus in order to carry out prevention, therapy and regular health checks. The purpose of this activity is to provide information to the people of Kodingareng Village about the prevention and therapy of hypertension and diabetes mellitus, as well as the importance of regular health checks for the elderly. The expected target of this activity is to increase the knowledge of posyandu cadres and the community about the prevention, causes and therapy of hypertension and diabetes mellitus, to increase community participation in a clean and healthy lifestyle. The method of implementation is carrying out health assessments and counseling by providing materials including definitions, etiology, clinical manifestations, supporting examinations, therapy and prevention. The results of the evaluation of this activity showed that posyandu cadres and the community showed an increased understanding of hypertension and diabetes mellitus, namely therapy and how to prevent it. It is hoped that from this activity cadres and the community can continue to mobilize the community to carry out regular health checks, avoid causes, and practice a clean and healthy lifestyle.

Abstract

During the Covid-19 pandemic, the role of parents inaccompanying children to learn has a high intensity. The role ofteachers in schools is returned to parents at home. This has animpact on the disruption of other schedules of housewives that theyare used to doing. This counseling aims to provide additional insightto housewives in Katimbang Village, Biringkanaya District,Makassar City in assisting their children in learning homes. Thiscounseling was attended by about 35 housewives with a duration of3 hours. This activity took place in the hall of the Kaimbang VillageOffice. The results of this counseling show that there is an increasein the insight of housewives after attending the counseling. There isno other way to deal with their complaints other than having to facethis reality and make social adaptations. The conclusion obtained isthat housewives must increase their insight in assisting children tostudy at home and take more parenting education both online andoffline.

Abstract

Children's literacy from elementary age to teenagers is an urgent agenda to carry out considering the rush of information through the media is increasingly being consumed by children and adolescents without selection. Therefore, it is important to develop them to be literate. This article describes service activities regarding the development of children and adolescents about the importance of literacy so that they can make a selection of the circulating information. This service activity will take place in June 2021 in Kaimbang Village, Makassar City, which is organized by Lecturers, Students, and the Literacy Observer Youth Group with participants from elementary school to junior high school age groups. The number of coaching participants is 35-35 children who are divided into 2 classes with basic materials such as Religion, Civics, Indonesian as the basic material and Social Media Insights as the core material. The presentation of the core material introduces the basic etiquette of using social media, accessing information, and disseminating it. This activity lasts 2 weeks with a meeting frequency of 3 times a week with a duration of 2-2.5 hours for each meeting. The results of the activity showed that the participants were happy and enthusiastic about learning, and they had additional knowledge about social media, especially what can and cannot be accessed according to their age and the ethics of sharing information. The conclusion of this service is that it is necessary to hold ongoing training and coaching for teenagers related to social media literacy

Abstract

Career guidance works to provide understanding to students in planning work. However, during the implementation of brave learning due to the Covid-19 career guidance, it has never been implemented at SMPN 1 Tamalatea. The importance of career guidance for students is therefore held career planning training which is expected to be able to provide knowledge to students in planning the right career. Participants in this activity consisted of grade VIII & IX students. The method used in this PkM is through a complete presentation of the material which is then accompanied by a question and answer session with the participants. The results of the activity showed that this activity received a positive response from students and BK teachers. Data obtained that this PkM activity is beneficial, interesting, helps the implementation of the BK program, and needs to be re-implemented.

Abstract

This article aims to describe the iqra method in learning the Koran at a TPA in Makassar city. The Iqra method is a very easy reading method and attracts the interest of many teachers to apply it in the santri group. This dedication method is to apply the method in teaching and see the speed at which students know letters compared to other methods. The results of this service are obtained as follows: this iqra method makes students read the Koran faster than other methods because students learn more while singing and reading is still good according to the name. The recommendation for this service is that the Iqra method is more suitable for the beginner age of children learning the Koran which is full of games and enjoys doing it.

Abstract

The MSME sector has a strategic role in the national economy but in its development there are still many obstacles. Therefore, this Community Service activity is directed to achieve the following objectives: 1) Providing insight or additional knowledge to MSME actors in Tappanjeng Village regarding good business governance, 2) Providing counseling on marketing techniques, financial management, developing business networks; 3) Provide insight into the importance of promoting using social media. After carrying out community service activities, several important points to be recommended are: 1) This training activity still needs to be continued in the form of mentoring to ensure the achievement of the overall service goals; 2) It takes the involvement of many parties in order to encourage the improvement of the managerial capabilities of MSME actors. Both the local government, banks, universities, and other non-governmental organizations.

Abstract

This article aims to describe waste management training for students, especially students of the FISIP Administration Study Program, Bosowa University Makassar. In addition, this training also introduces various alternatives for students in finding alternative solutions in overcoming problems around their environment (urban) which is surrounded by garbage as well as training their sensitivity to the environment. This paper uses a quantitative research method with a sample of 50 students with a total sampling technique. Data collection techniques using questionnaires, observations, and documentation studies. The data analysis technique used is frequency and percentage tabulation. The results of the study were obtained as follows: (1) introducing waste processing techniques through the introduction of concepts and theories and their types. (2) waste management practices in which each training participant practices waste processing techniques using tools. The recommendation for this service is that it is necessary to conduct training and involvement of environmental watchdog institutions in managing urban waste

Abstract

Writing this article aims to (i) find out what are the benefits of the existence of mangrove forests in the middle of Makassar city, (ii) who can benefit from mangrove forests. Mangrove forests play a major role in protecting the natural environment. This article uses qualitative-quantitative methods with interview, observation, and documentation studies. Data analysis used qualitative analysis. The results of the study found: (1) The benefits of the existence of a mangrove forest in the middle of the city of Makassar, namely: resisting coastal abrasion, as a community livelihood, environmental education and ecotourism. (2) Those who benefit from mangrove forests are the community, the private sector, and the government. The recommendation for this service is that mangrove forests are very important, therefore mangroves must be maintained and cultivated

Abstract

The purpose of this activity is to increase knowledge and skills about financial bookkeeping techniques. The audience of the participants are BUMDes managers, totaling 29 people from 6 BUMDes in Bontoa District. The method of carrying out activities with a participatory approach and method of presenting material in the form of lectures. The steps taken are the presentation of the material by the resource person then followed by a discussion. The results of the activity show that the socialization of financial bookkeeping techniques can increase the knowledge ability of managers in understanding BUMDes financial bookkeeping techniques. Follow-up activities in the form of training and technical guidance related to BUMDes financial bookkeeping, both manually and based on applications.

Abstract

BUMDes is one of the village business units that has the potential to be developed as an effort to move the economy in the village. Socialization of the preparation of business plans in BUMDes financial management training activities in the context of community service aims to improve skills and knowledge in preparing business plans. The activity was carried out in Bontoa District and the participants were BUMDes managers, totaling 29 people from 6 BUMDes. The method of delivering material is in the form of lectures, discussions and simulations. Activity results. The results of the activity show that socialization activities can increase the knowledge and motivation of BUMDes managers in improving skills in preparing business plans. This activity can be followed up in the form of training and technical guidance in the preparation of business plans.
