Abstract

A receiver in an action is an impartial person appointed by the court to collect and receive, pending the proceedings, the rents, issues, and profits of land or personal estate that it does not seem reasonable to the court that either party should collect or receive, or to enable the same to be distributed among the persons entitled. The appointment of a receiver does not in any way affect the right to the property over which he is appointed. The court takes possession of its receiver, and his possession is that of all parties to the action according to their titles. The receiver does not collect the rents and profits by virtue of any estate vested in him but by virtue of his position as an officer of the court appointed to collect property upon the title of the parties to the action. In the case of a fixed or floating charge, receivers and managers are appointed either by the court or by the debenture holders. In this article, we shall examine the legal effects of the appointment of a receiver by the court and out-of-court systems over the property of a company. This research is carried out using textual and contextual analysis.

Abstract

One of the major problems faced by Indonesian young learners when learning English grammar is being difficult to memorize sentence pattern with present tense. Grouping with vertical and horizontal lines were believed as an effective memory strategy to memorize the sentence pattern. Therefore, this study targeted to explore whether or not the use of memory strategy was applicable for students when constructing sentences. The research used quasi-experimental design. Each of the classes consisted of 10 participants chosen through total purposive sampling technique. Statistical technique using SPSS program was applied to confirm the hypotheisis. Based on the test of normality, it was found that the probability value of 0.134 is greater than the significance level of 0.05. This indicated that the data were in a normal distribution. Therefore, test of significance was done through parametric test and it showed that the significance value of 0.025 was equal to the probability level of 0.025, which means that there is no significant difference between experimental and control groups’ ability. In conclusion, the use of vertical and horizontal lines were not more effective in improving the students’ grammar skills than the conventional strategy. However, the strategy can be further developed and applied in teaching students with intermediate level.

Abstract

The study focuses on the ethico-religious assessment of the pastors who worked for the Nigerian Baptist Convention (NBC) and having retirement dilemma. All Baptist associations in the Ethiope-Delta Baptist Conference are included in the sampled study population. The Ethiope-Delta Baptist Conference serves Okpe, Sapele, Ughelli North, Warri North, Ethiope-East, and Ethiope-West local government areas in Delta State. In these six local government units, which are dispersed over numerous towns and cities in the aforementioned territories, there are over 226 Baptist churches and 11 Baptist Associations. The study included both qualitative and quantitative methods of inquiry. Expository, evaluative, phenomenological, and critical-analytical techniques are also used in this study. The above methods used in this study make it possible to fully evaluate the relevance, significance, and application of ethico-religious arguments about Baptist pastors’ pre-retirement and their situations in the study area. To substantiate these claims, both primary and secondary sources are also employed. The data for the study were gathered using the phenomenological approach, participant observation, and questionnaires. The research as well as the discussion in this research fall under two main topics: Baptist pastors’ pre-retirement challenges and ethical-religious responses to retired pastors’ dilemmas. According to the study, pastors’ pre-retirement issues are most prevalent in rural Baptist churches. The study also found that, despite the NBC’s goal of ensuring quick payment of pastors’ retirement benefit premiums, churches do not fully cooperate in terms of making their corresponding percentage contributions.

Abstract

This mixed-methods study investigates the strategies employed by EFL teachers in integrating Information and Communication Technology (ICT) into their teaching practices within a regional public high school in Indonesia. By employing a combination of qualitative and quantitative data collection methods, the study draws upon a sample of teachers' perspectives via structured interviews and questionnaire responses. The English teachers of SMA Negeri 1 Maros were involved as the subject of the Research. The findings reveal that teachers utilize a range of ICT tools, such as LCD/LED projectors, PowerPoint presentations, audio-visual technologies, and radio broadcasts, with the primary aim of enhancing teaching efficacy and student engagement. The data suggests that the use of ICT significantly influences student comprehension and learning outcomes, with pupils demonstrating an accelerated understanding of material when taught via ICT-based methodologies. Therefore, the study provides valuable insights into the role of ICT in English language teaching in Indonesia, particularly shedding light on teachers' ICT utilization strategies and the impacts on student learning outcomes. These findings may inform future policy and practice in education, potentially guiding initiatives for ICT integration in the wider context of language education.
