Abstract

This study assessed the knowledge of nutritional practices among Senior Secondary School students in Delta State, Nigeria. An ex-post facto research design and descriptive survey method were adopted. A sample of 390 students was selected from a population of 14,819 using Slovin’s formula and multi-stage sampling techniques. Data were collected through a validated questionnaire with a reliability coefficient of 0.81 and analyzed using mean, standard deviation, and t-test statistics at a 0.05 significance level. The findings revealed that students possessed a high level of nutritional knowledge, with mean scores ranging from 2.78 to 3.28, indicating strong awareness of healthy dietary practices and the importance of Food and Nutrition education. The study also found a significant difference between urban and rural students’ nutritional knowledge (t = 35.15, p < 0.05), suggesting that location influences access to nutrition-related information. The study concludes that nutrition knowledge among students is generally high, although efforts are needed to address urban–rural disparities.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the role of Civics teachers in strengthening the character of tolerance among students. Civics teachers have a significant responsibility in instilling the values of tolerance through classroom learning. This study employs a qualitative research method, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings indicate that teachers play a crucial role in strengthening the character of tolerance, which serves as a bridge for instilling tolerance values in students. The study identifies five steps in implementing tolerance education in the classroom. First, teachers analyze basic competencies by identifying the character values contained in the learning materials. Second, they prepare a lesson plan that focuses on tolerance-related content. Third, they implement the learning process according to the planned activities. Fourth, they conduct assessments to evaluate students’ understanding and development. Finally, they evaluate the learning outcomes to determine the extent to which students have understood and internalized the values of tolerance taught by the teacher.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the self-development program for autistic children at Sidikalang State Special School (SLB Negeri), including the teaching strategies applied, challenges encountered, and efforts undertaken to address those challenges. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, with teachers and autistic students serving as research subjects. Data were collected through observations and in-depth interviews and analyzed using descriptive techniques. The findings reveal that the self-development program is systematically integrated into scheduled learning activities to foster students’ independence in daily living skills. Teachers implement various strategies, including structured teaching, visual media, modeling, repetitive practice, positive reinforcement, and collaboration with parents. The implementation process, however, faces several challenges, such as difficulties in understanding instructions, limited attention span, repetitive behaviors, low motivation, and inadequate facilities. To overcome these barriers, teachers simplify instructions, provide direct demonstrations, utilize engaging visual media, consistently reinforce positive behaviors, and strengthen communication with parents. The study concludes that a structured and consistent self-development program supported by appropriate instructional strategies and active parental involvement can effectively enhance the independence of autistic children in performing daily activities.

This study aims to systematically analyze the implementation of the deep learning approach in elementary mathematics education, particularly its integration with local wisdom and its impact on students' mathematical creative thinking skills and social attitudes. The study employed a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method to analyze 15 scientific articles published between 2017 and 2025 that were relevant to the research topic. The article selection process followed the PRISMA framework, which consists of the identification, screening, eligibility, and inclusion stages. The findings indicate that integrating deep learning with ethnomathematics and local wisdom significantly enhances students' conceptual understanding, mathematical creativity, and social character development. Furthermore, the incorporation of local cultural contexts, such as traditional games and community traditions, has been shown to increase students' engagement in learning activities. This study recommends the development of contextual and transformative deep learning-based instructional models that integrate local wisdom into elementary school curricula to support meaningful and sustainable mathematics learning.

Abstract

The transformation of education in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution has shifted learning paradigms toward adaptive, technology-enhanced, and competency-based education. This study aims to examine the conceptual relationship between digital literacy and the four core twenty-first-century competencies (4Cs)—critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and communication—as the foundation of Education 4.0 in Indonesia. A conceptual review approach was employed by synthesizing international journal articles, policy documents, and authoritative reports relevant to digital literacy, Education 4.0, and twenty-first-century learning. The data were analyzed through thematic analysis and conceptual synthesis. The findings indicate that digital literacy has evolved into a multidimensional competency encompassing technical, cognitive, social, ethical, and epistemic dimensions that support the development of the 4C competencies. However, the implementation of Education 4.0 in Indonesia continues to face challenges related to digital inequality, teachers' digital competence, curriculum adaptation, and educational technology governance. This study proposes the Humanistic Digital Learning Ecosystem Model, integrating digital literacy, the 4C competencies, constructivist pedagogy, ethical artificial intelligence, and local wisdom as a conceptual framework for advancing Education 4.0 in Indonesia.

Abstract

The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) education has expanded rapidly, transforming learning, assessment, teacher professional development, and educational governance. However, existing studies predominantly examine these dimensions independently, leaving a lack of an integrated conceptual framework to explain AI implementation as a comprehensive educational ecosystem. This study aims to synthesize recent research on AI in EFL education, identify emerging themes, and propose the AI-Integrated EFL Innovation Framework (AIEIF). A Thematic Literature Review was conducted on twelve peer-reviewed international articles published between 2024 and 2025. Data were analyzed through open coding, category development, and thematic synthesis to identify recurring conceptual patterns across studies. The analysis generated five interrelated themes: AI-Supported Student Learning, AI for Teacher Professional Development, AI-Based Assessment Innovation, AI Leadership and Educational Governance, and Challenges and Future Directions. The findings indicate that effective AI implementation depends on the integration of adaptive learning, teacher capacity building, data-driven assessment, institutional leadership, and governance while addressing ethical, technological, policy, and cultural considerations. The proposed AIEIF offers a human-centered conceptual framework that advances AI integration in EFL education and provides a foundation for future empirical research, educational policy, and sustainable AI implementation, particularly in the Indonesian context.
