Abstract

This study explored the dynamics of symbolic interaction within inclusive classrooms at SMP Negeri 1 Palu, demonstrating that social interaction serves as a foundational mechanism shaping both pedagogical processes and the meaning of inclusion itself. The research revealed two predominant patterns—peer support interaction, emerging spontaneously through academic assistance, emotional support, and social advocacy, and dialogic interaction with teachers, functioning as reciprocal communication that enables inclusive students to construct meaning and negotiate their identities. These patterns operate across four critical dimensions: identity formation through social mirroring, emotional regulation through socioemotional support, cognitive mediation through scaffolding, and social transmission of knowledge through observational learning. However, the study also uncovered significant constraints—peer support proves stronger in social than academic contexts, dialogic interaction requires resources often unavailable, and students with severe communication barriers may remain marginalized despite institutional commitment. These findings shift analytical focus from policy frameworks to lived relational dynamics, demonstrating that inclusion transcends physical presence to require authentic social spaces where equality and acceptance are continuously negotiated. As Indonesia strengthens its commitment to inclusive education, lasting progress demands sustained attention to the quality and responsiveness of everyday classroom interactions—for it is within these interactions that inclusion is ultimately made, negotiated, and lived, compelling us to ask whether educational systems are truly prepared to prioritize and sustain the relational conditions that make authentic inclusion possible.

Abstract

Character education at the elementary school level serves as a crucial foundation in shaping students’ character from an early age. One of the initiatives implemented to support this goal is the Diary Kebajika program, which involves recording daily good deeds as a form of self-reflection. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Diary Kebajikan in character education at SD Sivaliputta, focusing on the process of implementation, supporting and inhibiting factors, as well as the improvement of students’ moral conduct. This research employed a qualitative approach with a case study method. The research subjects included the principal, teachers, parents, and students. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and written and visual documentation. Data analysis was conducted using the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing, combined with the CIPP evaluation model (Context, Input, Process, Product), ensuring that the findings were not only descriptive but also interretative. The results indicate that the Diary Kebajikan program was effectively implemented due to the support of teachers, the involvement of parents, and the enthusiasm of students. The program successfully fostered honesty, discipline, care, politeness, and respect toward teachers and parents, reflected both at school and at home. Obstacles such as students’ negligence in writing or limited reading ability were addressed through teachers’ guidance and parental assistance. Interpretatively, the success of the program lies not only in the diary itself but also in the synergy among schools, families, and the learning environment, as emphasized in the educational philosophy of Ki Hajar Dewantara. Furthermore, the program aligns with Buddhist teachings through the Buddhist Five Precepts, the Sigalovada Sutta, and the cultivation of the Brahmavihāras. Thus, the Diary Kebajika contributes as a model of character education based on daily reflection that is contextual, religious, and sustainable in elementary education

Abstract

Natural Science (IPA) learning today in elementary schools tends to be still theoretical and less contextual with students' lives. This research aims to develop science teaching materials in the form of an ethnoscience-based digital encyclopedia that integrates the local wisdom of Sukoharjo Regency. The ethnoscience approach is used to bridge scientific concepts with local cultural values to increase the relevance and meaning of learning. The method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model, including the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Data were obtained through literature studies, field observations, interviews with community leaders, and validation by material and media experts. Preliminary results suggest that various local practices, such as traditional food processing, herbal medicine, and agricultural systems, have scientific value that can be integrated into science material. The developed digital encyclopedia is equipped with illustrations, interactive narratives, and multimedia content to make it easier for students to understand. These findings show that the development of ethnoscience-based contextual teaching materials has the potential to improve the quality of science learning in elementary schools in a creative, meaningful, and rooted in local culture

Abstract

This study examines the reform of Indonesia’s national defense management through a good governance framework, positioning institutional governance as a critical determinant of defense effectiveness. The growing complexity of multidimensional security threats requires defense systems that are not only operationally capable but also institutionally transparent, accountable, and cross-sectorally coordinated. Despite ongoing public sector reforms, the integration of good governance principles into defense management reveals a persistent gap between normative design and implementation practice.Using a qualitative descriptive-analytical approach, this study relies on document analysis of defense policies, regulations, and governance literature. Content analysis and policy analysis are employed to assess the alignment between the principles of transparency, accountability, participation, rule of law, and policy effectiveness and the institutional practices of defense management. The findings indicate that reforms have strengthened civilian–military functional separation, strategic planning mechanisms, and formal accountability systems. However, defense governance continues to face structural constraints, including fragmented authority, weak intersectoral coordination, and limited integration between planning and implementation. At the cultural level, hierarchical organizational norms slow the adoption of participatory and transparent governance practices. The study demonstrates that the relationship between good governance and defense effectiveness is indirect and mediated by the quality of institutional management reform. Its primary contribution lies in advancing a conceptual linkage between public governance and defense sector performance while offering policy recommendations centered on institutional integration and results-based accountability.

Abstract

This study investigates how post-conflict governance in Poso has been shaped by neopatrimonial practices and how hybrid political orders endure despite the formalization of peace agreements. The research aims to explain the persistence of elite domination in the region by examining the ways in which local actors consolidate their power through control of resources, patronage networks, clientelism, and the mobilization of religious sentiment. To achieve this, the study employs a qualitative explanatory approach, relying on in-depth interviews with key informants, analysis of official documents, electoral results, and secondary materials such as books, journals, and online publications. The findings reveal that while the Malino Declaration of 2001 was successful in reducing the intensity of violent conflict between Christian and Muslim communities, it fell short of producing a more inclusive and democratic political order. Instead, the political arena in Poso remains dominated by a small circle of elites who sustain the status quo and use both formal and informal mechanisms to secure their authority. These dynamics demonstrate that neopatrimonialism continues to influence the post-conflict political landscape, giving rise to a hybrid political order in which democratic institutions formally exist but function in parallel with clientelistic practices and elite-driven governance. The study concludes that without addressing the entrenched neopatrimonial system, post-conflict democratization in Poso will remain limited, and power will continue to circulate within narrow elite networks rather than being shared more broadly across society.

Abstract

This study examines the harmony between religious communities in Tridana Mulia Village, Landono District, South Konawe Regency, Southeast Sulawesi, which is inhabited by Muslims, Christians, and Hindus. The purpose of the research is to describe the form of Muslim and non-Muslim relations in social life by emphasizing the aspect of harmony that exists in the midst of diversity. The research uses field research methods using phenomenological and sociological approaches. The results of the study show that harmony is built through positive interactions that are divided into daily relationships consisting of relationships between fellow Muslims and relationships with Muslims. Relations with non-Muslims are established in five main aspects: First, Economy, through the practice of buying and selling and business cooperation without religious discrimination; Second, Communication and social, through open dialogue, solidarity, and mutual cooperation; Third, Politics and government, with an inclusive and meritocratic pattern of political participation; Fourth, Education, through the implementation of multicultural education and religious moderation in schools; and Fifth, Culture, through joint celebrations, mutual cooperation, and respect for interfaith traditions. The associative relationship can be seen in the form of productive cooperation in cross-faith farmer groups. These findings confirm that differences in beliefs are not barriers, but rather a force to build social cohesion. The harmony created in Tridana Mulia Village can be a model for other multicultural regions in developing harmony, tolerance, and cooperation between religious communities.

Abstract

Trisutji Kamal is the first Indonesian female composer to work in the field of 'Indonesian classical music', and her works have become part of the repertoire of various musical performances, concerts, and recitals both domestically and internationally. His compositions are manifestations of personal experience, identity, nationalism, love and beauty, developed using various compositional techniques connected to various trajectories of Western music history. In this position, the author sees Trisutji Kamal as having entered a phase of providing novelty in composition, namely by discussing a 'new' compositional form. This 'new' compositional form has directly opened up a space for discussion regarding aesthetics, appropriateness, temporality, and also interpretation. The Cycle: Hope and Disappointment is a different cycle from those of Schubert and Schumann. Trisutji Kamal presents different times within the cycle and various themes, thus creating a distinct continuity. This certainly impacts the performance and the way the text is conveyed to the audience. According to the author, this is one of Trisutji Kamal's compositional strengths that has not been widely discussed in scholarly discussions and previous research. Through a qualitative approach, this research opens up space to see the relationship between Trisutji Kamal's work and Schubert and Schumann and to discuss different things as part of 'newness' in composition.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the Role of Digital Literacy in Learning Financial Report Analysis for Grade XI Beauty Students of Imelda Tourism Vocational School, Medan. This study uses a qualitative descriptive research type, which aims to describe in depth how the role of digital literacy affects learning financial report analysis for students. Based on the results of the study that has been conducted on the Role of Digital Literacy in Learning Financial Report Analysis for Grade XI Students of Imelda Tourism Vocational School, Medan, several things can be concluded as follows: as many as 70% of grade XI students show good digital literacy skills, marked by their ability to access, use, and explore financial information through digital media. Students have been able to use technological devices such as computers, the internet, and basic financial applications to support learning financial report analysis. Qualitative data from observations and interviews show that students with high levels of digital literacy have better abilities in analyzing financial reports, including reading financial reports, interpreting numerical data, and compiling simple reports. This shows a positive correlation between mastery of digital technology and achievement of economic learning outcomes. Although many students have utilized technology for educational purposes, there are still around 30% of students who predominantly use digital media only for entertainment such as playing games and social media. This shows that students' digital literacy is not fully directed at productive use for learning

Abstract

Until now, many genetically engineered products have met our basic needs and provided various economic, environmental, and health benefits. However, there are still many who doubt or even oppose them. This raises the question of how the public's knowledge and understanding of these biotechnological plants stand. Consequently, this condition will affect the varied attitudes of society. Thus, this research aims to analyze whether public actions in adopting biotechnology are significantly influenced by their knowledge and perceptions. This survey uses a questionnaire and was conducted with 535 respondents from several provinces. The results show that around 70% of respondents have limited knowledge about biotechnology. The information channels they use include print media, social media, and interpersonal communication. About 75% of respondents agree or strongly agree that biotechnology can enhance agricultural productivity, the economy, and farmers' welfare, and contribute to food security. Furthermore, 76% of respondents agree to purchase these products. Despite the above findings, the lack of information regarding genetically engineered plants has led a majority of Indonesians to feel "neutral" about the risks they perceive regarding health and the environment. PLS-SEM analysis reveals a strong positive relationship between knowledge, perceptions, and positive attitudes toward biotechnology products. Therefore, factors such as enhancing information dissemination through various alternative media and involving stakeholders need to be intensified for the future development of biotechnology
