Abstract

Languages has various types, and they are always evolving with the times. Foreign languages are the second or companion languages of the main language, from this foreign language there is often a mixing of codes in Indonesian. Then, slang is a modification of the language that already exists in society. This study aims to analyze the use of mixed code and slang on social media, especially in the comments of @kegblgunfaedh accounts on platform X. The method used is qualitative descriptive to uncover this phenomenon. The results of the study show that social media users often use slang and mixed code. Slang is used to create familiarity, while code mix arises spontaneously due to environmental influences. Abstract

Pragmatics is a field of linguistic study that relies on context as the main means of understanding an intention. One of its areas of study is expressive speech acts, which are used to express or convey someone's emotional and feeling states. The aim of this research is to describe and analyze various types of expressive speech acts found in the "Negotiation Lecture" videos on the "Kuliah Kehidupan" YouTube channel. This research employs a qualitative descriptive methodological approach and a theoretical pragmatic analysis approach. The data sources used are derived from conversations or expressive utterances found in the negotiation lecture videos on the "Kuliah Kehidupan" YouTube channel. Data collection in this article uses the observation and note-taking technique. The data analysis technique employs distributional and matching techniques. The results of this research found ten types of speech acts in the "Negotiation Lecture" videos on the "Kuliah Kehidupan" YouTube channel, namely expressive speech acts of criticizing, hoping, complaining, blaming, praising, apologizing, thanking, expressing anger, congratulating, and expressing fear. This research is beneficial for providing new insights into the classification of expressive speech acts found in the videos. It is expected that this research can serve as a reference for students, lecturers, or learners, and as material for further research in the context of learning in pragmatic studies, especially regarding the types of expressive speech acts.

The specific purpose is to discover the availability of facilities owned by students, the level of parent participation, students' reading activities at school, and their interest in reading. The subject of the study was a grade IV student. This research includes quantitative descriptive research with a survey design. Data collection was conducted using the PIRLS framework questionnaire. Data analysis was conducted using quantitative data analysis. The findings showed that the availability of student facilities in reading activities is still quite good because on average students have facilities for reading activities at home even though students read more in school. The findings from the results of parent participation also prove that 90% of parents actively monitor student learning activities while at home. Most students' reading activities at school focus on spending 1-2 hours in the library, as they prefer learning from teachers' explanations over reading. Despite high interest and motivation in reading due to curiosity, students' reading habits during the pandemic remain similar to their normal learning activities.

Abstract

When learning Indonesian in high school (SMA), scientific writing is one of the outcomes that students must be able to apply in the form of writing. In fact, scientific writing is difficult material for students. According to the 2013 curriculum, the scientific writing material should enable students to effectively compile and communicate their findings. On the other hand, in the merdeka curriculum, scientific writing serves as a report for each project to enhance the Pancasila students' profile (P5). The purpose of this study is to compare the process of writing scientific papers between the 2013 curriculum and the merdeka curriculum and analyze the resulting learning outcomes. The research conducted revealed the following findings: 1) there were differences in the outcomes of scientific writing learning between the 2013 curriculum and the merdeka curriculum, 2) the scientific writing learning process varied, with the 2013 curriculum only including Indonesian language subjects for scientific writing in class XI, while the merdeka curriculum scientific writing allowed collaboration with other subjects, and 3) the scientific writing guidance system in the 2013 curriculum solely focused on learning Indonesian during class, whereas in the merdeka curriculum, students received special guidance outside of class hours.

Abstract

This writing aims to improve the skills of class VII students at SMP N 3 Karangrayung, in writing personal letters using the mind mapping method. Pre-cycle results show that students' writing motivation is still low, thus affecting learning outcomes. Apart from that, teachers are less innovative in implementing learning methods. This writing is the result of Kurt Lewin's PTK model with a qualitative and quantitative approach. The location of this writing was at SMP N 3 Karangrayung, with the subject being 33 class VII students. Qualitative data collection techniques (observation, interviews, and documentation) and quantitative in the form of formative tests. Data analysis techniques use observation, interviews and documentation techniques, while quantitative through processing formatted test questions with colleagues. Testing the validity of the data includes triangulation tests and using validity and reliability tests. The writing results show that there is an increase in students' personal letter writing skills after implementing the mind mapping model. The stages are carried out in two cycles, namely cycle I and cycle II. The results of the analysis in cycle I showed that 24 students (73%) completed, and in cycle II there was a significant increase, namely 100% completion. So, the mind mapping method is able to improve learning motivation and student learning outcomes in phase D well.

Abstract

The relationship between migrants and their hometown is often depicted in literary works. One of the literary works that depicts this phenomenon is the short story “Bagaimana Sebuah Kampung Menuju Kematiannya” by Sandi Firly. The purpose of this study is to explain the perception of migrants towards their hometown. With this study, it is hoped that it can be known how migrants who have been away for a long time and settled in big cities see and interpret their hometowns. This study is a qualitative study using a sociology of literature approach. Data collection was carried out by recording and analyzing the data using content analysis. The results of this study indicate that the hometown, namely Kuala Pembuang for migrants like Hasan, has a deep meaning and a special place that is impossible to replace at any time. Big cities with all their attractive offers will never be able to erase a migrant’s love for their hometown.
