Abstract

The goal of this study is to thoroughly analyze the complexities of performance assessment in the context of Kalam learning, with a focus on the educational environment of Madrasah Tsanawiyah (MTs) students in 2023. The inquiry adopts a systematic review process that makes use of Google Scholar's extensive scholarly resource. The fundamental purpose of this work is to provide useful insights, particularly for educators, in order to facilitate informed judgments on the appropriate selection of performance assessment methodologies that effectively support the pedagogical endeavor. This project attempts to bridge the gap between theoretical conceptualizations and practical application by conducting a thorough examination of relevant literature, thereby developing a scholarly discourse informed by empirical foundations. This synthesis of multiple views aims to provide a significant contribution to the pedagogical discourse by providing compelling recommendations that might underpin teaching practices and evaluation frameworks in Kalam language acquisition. In conclusion, this study seeks to provide a scholarly framework for elucidating and demystifying performance assessment procedures within Kalam learning for MTs students. The outcome of this scholarly endeavour has the potential to improve the educational landscape by providing educators with discerning insights into prudent performance evaluation approaches, thereby promoting a dynamic and successful learning environment.

Abstract

Discussions about calligraphy as an art in an Islamic context have eternal appeal, highlighting the beauty and depth of meaning in every stroke of the letters, especially in the Al Quran. The art of calligraphy is not only a visual art but also an important bridge to understanding and learning Arabic. Arabic has a crucial role in Islamic education, not only as a means of religious communication but also as a broad window into Islamic history and literature. In this context, Arabic Language Education students at UIN North Sumatra found an interest in calligraphy as an enrichment in learning, opening up space for cultural and artistic exploration related to the Arabic language. This research adopted a qualitative descriptive method to explore the relationship between interest in calligraphy and Arabic writing skills among Arabic Language Education students at UIN North Sumatra. Through interviews and literature analysis, this research highlights the role of interest in calligraphy in improving Arabic writing skills. The research results show that interest in calligraphy significantly influences students' proficiency and talent in writing Arabic. Students with both interests and talents tend to have better support, while those with only interests need more support. This research highlights the importance of interest in calligraphy in improving Arabic writing skills, illustrating the role of supporting factors and the difference between talent and interest.

Abstract

This research aims to provide a perspective regarding several Arabic language learning curricula and the unique characteristics of it as well as patterns of use in designing Arabic language learning to non-native speakers. Researchers used a qualitative approach with a type of literature study. The data in this research comes from several books and scientific journals related to the topic, and the data is then analyzed using qualitative descriptive techniques. The results of this research are: 1) In the context of Arabic language learning, there are four types of curriculum that are frequently used in the process of teaching and learning Arabic to non-native speakers, namely; Grammatical Syllabus, Situational Syllabus, Notional Syllabus, and Multidimensional Syllabus. 2) That each type of curriculum plays an important role in the success of the Arabic language teaching and learning program in accordance with the desired objectives and perspectives, and all four have their respective strengths and weaknesses. Therefore, teachers must pay more attention to each characteristics before determining the type of curriculum they will use.

Abstract

The close relationship between Islamic studies and Arabic has caused many educational institutions including Islamic universities to design Arabic language learning in their curriculum, not only focusing on special Arabic study programs but also expanding to the curriculum of non-Arabic study programs such as Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI). This is done to equip students with language skills to understand and interpret Islamic teachings. This research aims to describe 1) the objectives of learning Arabic at Raden Rahmat Islamic University, Malang; 2) the implementation of eclectic methods in learning Arabic at Raden Rahmat University, Malang. This research is field research with descriptive qualitative methods. Data was collected through observation, interviews, and documentation techniques and then used the Miles and Huberman model including data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion as data analysis techniques. The research results show that 1) the aim of teaching Arabic in the Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) study program is so that students can master Arabic language skills well to accompany their learning process in studying sources of Islamic knowledge such as the Al-Qur'an, hadith, and kitab turats despite such enormous challenges; and 2) implementation of eclectic methods in learning Arabic in the Raden Rahmat Islamic University at PAI study program, namely by combining the advantages of direct methods, nahwu grammar, translation, and audio-lingual so that teachers can create more meaningful and efficient learning to meet the stated course achievements has been formulated by the study program.

Abstract

The use of learning media in supporting the teaching and learning process, especially in the current curriculum (Independent Curricullum), is a something new in the world of education nowadays. In addition to providing flexibility for educators to create a learning atmosphere as independent as possible, the learning process based on the needs of students also brings many benefits in optimizing learning, included in developing learning media.  This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method in MTsN 2 Kediri, and a literature study related to Arabic learning media in the Independent Curricullum. The results of this research showed that in supporting the learning process of Arabic subjects, Arabic language teachers in MTsN 2 Kediri have been carried out based on the principles of the learning approach in the Independent Curricullum. Also, the benefit of the design of the development of Arabic learning media based on the principle of the Independent Curricullum is to accommodate the needs of students in learning according to their learning styles, so it can encourage the activeness of students to participate, increase the understanding - especially students with beginner abilities, and to provoke student’s interest to understand the learning material optimally. Abstract

This research aims to determine the management of the Arabic language learning curriculum at Madrasah Aliyah Al Amiriyyah Blokagung Banyuwangi. This type of research uses qualitative research methods. Data collection is through observation, interviews and documentation. With key informants, namely the school principal, Arabic language studies teacher, and curriculum supervisor. And data validity techniques use triangulation. The data analysis used goes through several stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions/verification. The results of this research begin with planning the management of the Arabic language learning curriculum by making lesson plans, syllabi, making prota (annual programs) and promes (semester programs) and in the planning involving existing stechholders; organizing management of the Arabic language learning curriculum, namely by teachers participating in MGMP (Subject Teachers' Conference) activities; Meanwhile, the implementation of Arabic language learning curriculum management is carried out by all sectors in Madrasah Aliyah Al Amiriyyah Blokagung Bnayuwangi with the aim of implementing Arabic language learning curriculum management to be carried out in accordance with the stated objectives; and evaluation of Arabic language learning curriculum management consists of three types of evaluation, namely in terms of character, spiritual and social. And in carrying out the evaluation, it is measured from the value of the material presented.

Abstract

Reading is one of the language skills that must be achieved by students. The success of students in participating in the teaching and learning process at school is determined by their mastery of reading skills. Students who cannot read will have difficulty participating in learning activities for all subjects including Arabic language lessons. This study uses a qualitative method. The data collected in this research was by observation (seeing the conditions at school directly), as well as by interviewing teachers who taught Arabic subjects to find out the problems that occurred among class VII students at MTs Fatahillah. The results of these findings are: when pronouncing the reading is not correct (not in accordance with tajwid), there are still those who read not in accordance with the makharijul letters, reading is still spliced ??(there are no semicolons), reading is still like reading the Al-Qur'an , and also do not understand the content in Arabic reading. Apart from that, the background conditions of class VII MTs Fatahillah students vary in their reading abilities. For students who have basic skills, reading ability will make learning easier, whereas those without basic skills will have difficulty following the material. Solutions that researchers can offer to solve the problems that occur include: Drill method (procedure repetition practice technique), singing/songs, and peer tutoring (using peers as additional learning resources).

Abstract

Analyzing textbooks is very important in order to improve the quality of textbooks. The purpose of the analysis is to determine the needs of users, namely lecturers and students, for the textbook. This research is qualitative, this type of research is classified as library research. The data that researchers obtained was qualitative in the form of texts or readings contained in the "Kalamuna" textbook. The discussion of this research is about suitability to the objectives of language teaching, suitability of the topic situation and context, systematic or coherent presentation of material and analysis of book content. The results of this research are that the textbook "Kalamuna" in terms of content is in accordance with the objectives of language teaching, one of which is speaking skills, the topics discussed in the book are also in accordance with students' daily needs, however, there are several points that need to be improved as well. In the contents of the book, vocabulary and practice questions need to be added. The textbook "Kalamuna" can be used in learning Arabic but there must be improvements from the author.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the implementation of the Arabic game method in Maharah Kalam learning as well as the supporting and inhibiting factors at Public High Scholl 1 Banyuwangi. The research method uses qualitative descriptive research. Data collection techniques were carried out by means of observation, interviews and documentation. Meanwhile, data analysis uses interactive models by analyzing data, processing data, and drawing conclusions from the data obtained as well as describing and reporting what happens in the field using descriptive qualitative analysis techniques. From the research results it was found that the Arabic game method used was the word guessing method, namely by demonstrating the method, the teacher divided the students into several groups then the teacher showed a word to the student at the front, then he demonstrated it to a friend in front of him, if he could not demonstrate it. The friend behind them is replaced, and if there is a friend who can answer correctly then he is the one who demonstrates it, and so on, the group that manages to collect the most words in approximately 3 minutes is the winner. Supporting and inhibiting factors for learning Arabic are triggered by several factors, namely supporting factors such as teacher educators, motivation and the methods used. Apart from that, there are inhibiting factors such as students' different backgrounds, learning difficulties, environmental factors, and psychological factors.

Abstract

The scramble method is a learning method that invites students to find answers and solve existing problems by distributing question sheets and answer sheets accompanied by available alternative answers. The aim of this research is to determine the application of the scramble method in increasing motivation to learn Arabic and to determine the evaluation of Arabic language learning outcomes after using the scramble method. This type of research is qualitative descriptive research. Researchers observed and interacted with informants by reviewing and searching for data by requesting documentation from the school. The results of research on the application of the scramble method show that the scramble learning method offers a solution with a fun learning concept as an effort to improve learning aspects including students' interest, motivation and Arabic language learning outcomes. And the evaluation results from research regarding the application of the scramble method are that students can complete the tasks given by the teacher well and correctly, as evidenced by the work results of each group reading or presenting the work results of each group in front of the class.
