Abstract

This study evaluated the effectiveness of anger management techniques in reducing anger-related behaviors in a 33-year-old male schizophrenic patient (RM). Research was conducted at RSJD dr. Arif Zainuddin Surakarta over four weeks (February-March 2024). Initial assessment revealed hallucinations, delusions, aggression, anxiety, and sleep disturbances stemming from emotional trauma, cognitive distortions, and environmental stressors. The intervention involved recognition of anger triggers, cognitive restructuring, relaxation techniques, and behavioral coping mechanisms through 45-60 minute structured sessions. Post-intervention results showed significant improvements, including increased awareness of anger triggers, development of self-regulation techniques (notably "ambekan dowo" breathing), better recognition of anger signs, and reduced aggressive outbursts. Despite challenges including inconsistent social support and emotional instability, findings demonstrate that tailored anger management interventions can significantly improve emotional regulation in schizophrenia patients. Recommendations include multi-faceted psychological approaches and long-term family involvement through caregiver education and structured routines.

Abstract

The tendency of conventional textbooks with prosocial behavior themes, which mostly contain text or unattractive visual designs, makes reading activities less appealing to children. Illustrated storybooks with creative and locally relevant settings tend to attract students, especially 5-6-year-olds. This study aims to develop a storybook that fosters prosocial behavior in children. Conducted at Fitrah Semesta Kindergarten using the R&D method with the ADDIE model (up to the development stage), the study produced a 10-page storybook. Data analysis employed qualitative and quantitative techniques. The results show that the illustrated storybook received "highly feasible" ratings from material, language, and media experts. Material aspects scored 85.5%, language 89.2%, and media 84.2%, with an average expert rating of 86.3%. Observational responses scored 86.36% (highly feasible), and the pre-test to post-test improvement was 40.36%. This indicates the storybook significantly enhances prosocial behavior and is highly suitable for 5-6-year-olds.

Abstract

This study investigates the influence of animated films and nursery rhymes on English speaking abilities of early childhood students in West Bekasi District. Using a quantitative associative approach, the research involved 64 children aged 4-6 years from 16 kindergartens. Data was collected through speaking tests, questionnaires, and documentation. The study employed descriptive analysis, Spearman correlation, and ordinal regression analysis. Results show that both animated films (rs = 0.612, p < 0.001) and nursery rhymes (rs = 0.639, p < 0.001) have a strong positive correlation with children's English speaking abilities. Ordinal regression analysis reveals significant positive effects of animated films (β = 0.931, p < 0.001) and nursery rhymes (β = 1.058, p < 0.001) on speaking abilities. The combined use of both media demonstrated a synergistic effect, supporting multisensory approaches in language learning. The model explains 57.3% of the variation in children's English speaking abilities, indicating good predictive power. These findings provide empirical evidence for the effectiveness of audiovisual media in early childhood English language learning, supporting multimedia learning theory and dual coding theory. The study concludes that integrating animated films and nursery rhymes into early childhood English curricula can significantly enhance speaking abilities, offering valuable insights for educators and curriculum developers in designing effective language learning strategies for young children

Abstract

This research is designed to examine the interrelationships between work-life balance, role ambiguity, and burnout among Generation Z. It aims to investigate how work-life balance correlates with burnout and how role ambiguity contributes to burnout within this demographic. Burnout is defined as a state of mental, emotional, and physical exhaustion resulting from prolonged work pressure. Work-life balance refers to an individual's capacity to strike a healthy balance between job responsibilities and personal life. Role ambiguity occurs when individuals face uncertainty about their job roles, including tasks, duties, and expectations. The study employs three measurement scales: burnout, work-life balance, and role ambiguity. The sample size, derived using the G-power application, consists of 120 Generation Z workers. Multiple regression analysis was applied to the data. The findings indicate a significant relationship between work-life balance, role ambiguity, and burnout in Generation Z. Specifically, a negative relationship was identified between work-life balance and burnout, where lower work-life balance corresponds to higher burnout, and vice versa. Furthermore, a positive correlation was found between role ambiguity and burnout, with higher levels of role ambiguity being linked to increased burnout levels.

Abstract

Emerging adulthood is the transition period from adolescence to adulthood, happening between the ages of 18 and 29. During this stage, people face many challenges, such as learning new skills and adapting to changes, especially final-year university students. The emotional struggle experienced in this phase is called the quarter-life crisis. This study aims to understand the relationship between emotion regulation, resilience, and the quarter-life crisis among final-year university students in Pekanbaru. Data were collected through an online questionnaire from 155 students and analyzed using multiple regression analysis. The results show that emotion regulation and resilience are connected to the quarter-life crisis (F = 51.020, p < 0.05). Individually, emotion regulation (t = -4.321, p < 0.05) and resilience (t = -4.129, p < 0.05) have a negative relationship with the quarter-life crisis. This means that the better a person can regulate emotions and be resilient, the lower their chances of experiencing a quarter-life crisis.
