Jurnal Counseling Care (2597-6923) (2581-0650) is the official, peer-reviewed, open-access, electronic journal of the Study Program of Guidance and Counselling, Universitas PGRI Sumatera Barat,is published biannual (April and October) dedicated to research and commentary on empirical, theoretical and innovative topics in the profession of school counseling and related areas. The goal in establishing Jurnal Counseling Care was to create an exciting new resource for the school counseling profession and related area with relevant and up-to-date material. Jurnal Counseling Care, publishes articles on practice, theory, and research in all areas of Guidance and Counseling also education related to Guidance and Counseling. Every submitted manuscript will be reviewed by at least two peer-reviewers using double blind review method. Abstract

The background of this research is that there are students who have not been able to control themselves, students still violate school rules, students have not been able to master their own emotions and understand the emotions of others, resulting in fights/fights such as making fun of each other, berating each other, yelling, insulting and hitting, students who grumble at the teacher during lerning and when there are students who make mistakes, students like to kick chairs and tables during learning, students like to scribble on their hands, walls, tables, chairs and absence. Large aggressive behavior can also allow for a relationship between self-esteem and aggressive behavior. This study aims to describe 1) self-esteem of students, 2) aggressive behavior of students, 3) the relationship between self-esteem and aggressive behavior of students. This type of research is descriptive quantitative with a correlational approach. The data collection tool used is a questionnaire with the data analysis technique used is pearson product moment. The population of this study was students in class X mechanical engineering at vocational high school 5 Padang, totaling 65 students. The sampling technique was carried out using a total sampling, namely 65 students who became the research sample. The results of the research are recommended for counseling teachers and subject teachers to provide services and materials so that students can increase self-esteem from the medium to high category. So with high student self-esteem, student aggressive behavior will be low.

Abstract

This article discusses the use of infrastructure as a support for improving counseling activities in schools. The utilization of school infrastructure, especially guidance and counseling, is often not given proper attention. So that the implementation of guidance and counseling is difficult to run optimally. For this reason, it is necessary to utilize guidance and counseling infrastructure to encourage the implementation of guidance and counseling so that they can run effectively. The purpose of writing this article is to find out how infrastructure can improve guidance and counseling services in schools. The method used in writing this article is a literature study. The results of the discussion in this article are that the utilization of infrastructure can be carried out by paying attention to standards related to infrastructure that must be completed in the guidance and counseling room and forming strategies in infrastructure management.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the differences in the dynamics of academic emotions of new students and prospective teacher professional education (PPG) students in the Guidance and Counseling study program at Makassar State University as seen from gender and culture. This research is qualitative with a case study model using the purposive sampling technique to determine research subjects. The research subjects consisted of five freshmen from the class of 2022 and five pre-service PPG students in the field of guidance and counseling studies who had differences in gender and culture. Data collection methods are observation, in-depth interviews, and journal writing at the beginning and end of the semester. The data analysis technique uses a conventional model, namely thematic analysis techniques, with steps such as condensation, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of this study indicate that new students and pre-service teacher professional education (PPG) students have differences in negative and positive emotions, namely new students, negative emotions experienced feel anxious about the results achieved, sad and depressed when at the beginning of the semester because they are just adapting to the environment and this happens to all male and female students and positive emotions for new students in the aspects of gender and culture are generally the same, namely in the form of being happy to have friends with different cultural backgrounds and happy when the task is completed and collected properly and. In PPG Pre-service students, the negative emotions experienced by male and female students are the same, namely feeling afraid of the demands of the tasks on the LMS, being bored with the many tasks and worrying about not being able to complete the tasks and processes that will be undertaken for a year with a pattern that he thinks is quite challenging seeing from PPG Pre-service Class 1 and feeling that the negative emotions experienced have nothing to do with the cultural factors they embrace. In building positive emotions, new students and Pre-Service PPG are generally the same in addition to a sense of liking the course but also the existence of motivation or encouragement such as role models, religious goals, a sense of wanting to make parents proud, seeing the success of others, the desire not to be easily fooled, and having ideals and hopes for both oneself and parents.

Abstract

The existence of career women in today's society is commonplace in line with developments in the era that have accustomed women to playing dual roles such as working outside the home and taking care of the household. This condition makes career women have greater responsibilities in their lives. With large responsibilities, many career women experience difficulties in dealing with various work and household problems, which can cause various psychological problems such as stress, depression and excessive anxiety. For this reason, the existence of a career counselor is needed to assist in the process of alleviating the problems of career women. This research aims to analyze the problems faced by career women and look at the role of counselors in overcoming them. This analysis uses a literature review approach. The results obtained from this review are that the problems of career women arise because of the many roles and functions of women in their lives, including as a wife, as a housewife, as successor of offspring, as a household manager and as a citizen. The problem of gender differences is a barrier for career women to develop their potential. Apart from being a worker, a career woman cannot be separated from her inherent identity as a wife, mother to her children and role model for those around her. In this case, counselors can design guidance and counseling services to help deal with problems faced by career women, counseling services regarding gender equality and multicultural counseling can be alternatives in providing assistance to career women with their problems.

Abstract

Counseling is a service provided by professional staff to individuals or groups for the development of effective daily living. However, the phenomenon that occurs in the field is that the implementation of Guidance and Counseling in schools is carried out with an unclear pattern, the lack of clarity on the pattern that must be implemented has an impact on the bad image of guidance and counseling, giving rise to misconceptions about the implementation of counseling guidance. The emergence of negative perceptions regarding the implementation of Guidance Counseling, various criticisms emerged as a form of disappointment with the counselor's performance, resulting in misunderstandings. Misconceptions are defined as understandings that conflict with the concepts put forward by experts. So, the aim of the research is to describe the problem of misconceptions about guidance and counseling. This type of research is a literature study. by searching, studying and analyzing theoretical references relevant to the problems found. The literature review method is a series of activities related to library data collection methods, reading and recording and managing research materials. Other problems that often cause misconceptions about counseling guidance in schools are: (1) counseling guidance teachers are often seen as school police, (2) counseling guidance is often thought of as a medium for giving advice, (3) counseling guidance is thought to only deal with cases of problematic students. , (4) guidance and counseling teachers must be more active in dealing with student problems, and (5) the profession as a guidance and counseling teacher can be done by anyone

Abstract

This research is motivated by students who lack independence in following the learning process, limited interaction during face-to-face learning, and some students who have difficulty accepting their own physical condition. The objectives of this study are to describe 1) The achievement of student development tasks at State Senior High School 1 Kinali, and 2) The planning of guidance and counseling programs to enhance the achievement of student development tasks at State Senior High School 1 Kinali. This research was conducted using a research and development method with a population of 302 students, and the sample consisted of 31 students from class XI Phase F 9. The instrument used was the Inventory of Developmental Tasks. Data analysis was performed using Developmental Task Analysis Software. The research results are as follows: 1) The achievement of student developmental tasks (Study in class XI Phase F 9) is generally in the category of self-awareness development level. 2) The planning of guidance and counseling programs to enhance the achievement of student developmental tasks at State Senior High School 1 Kinali includes services such as information services, group counseling services, collaborative services, and bibliotherapy services. Based on the results of the research, recommendations can be made for students to identify unfulfilled developmental tasks and use this research as a guide for improvement.

Abstract

This reserach is motivated by the existence of the problem about self adjustment to the low rules of school. This research aims to descripbe: 1) Self adjustment overview of students to the rules of school. 2) Design of implementation of group guidance services by using discussion method in improving students’ self adjustment to the rules of school. This research is carried out by an analysis descriptive method. The population in this research is students at the grade of XI IIS 1 Senior High School 1 Lunang who are experiencing low self adjustment to the rules of school with a total of 12 students. The sampling using purposive sampling technique with a total is 8 students. The data collected by using questionnaire, then analyzed by using percentage classification. The result of this research discloses that: 1) Self adjustment overview of students to the rules of school, is the low category. 2) Design of implementation of group guidance services by using discussion methods in improving students’ self adjustment to the rules of school. Based on the result of this research, it is recommended for counselors to be able to implement group guidance services by using discussion methods to students at the grade of XI IIS 1 Senior High School 1 Lunang in improving self adjustment to the rules of school as it is designed in this research.

Abstract

Good interpersonal communication is a reflection of an individual's character. This character is formed from character education. Therefore, it is necessary to improve interpersonal communication among individuals. The aim of this research is to determine the effectiveness of classical guidance services using the Kahoot application in forming student character through improving interpersonal communication. This research is quantitative research with a positivistic paradigm. This research uses an experimental method, the experimental method used is a Quasi Experiment with a One-Group Pretest-Posttest research design Design by providing pre-test and post-test . The population in the study were students of Padang Public High School 1. The sample for this research was class XI F12 students with a total of 33 people. The research sample was selected using purposive sampling technique. The instrument used in this research was a questionnaire with a student interpersonal communication scale. Analysis of this research data used the Wilcoxon test . The results of the research revealed that when carrying out the pre-test, 20 students had poor interpersonal communication and after being given the post-test, 33 students had good interpersonal communication. From the results of the Wilcoxon test, the results obtained were J ℎ ?????<J?????, namely 3.4<170, meaning that the hypothesis is accepted, namely that there are differences in interpersonal communication before and after being given classical guidance services using the Kahoot application. It can be concluded that classical guidance services using the Kahoot application are effective in improving students' interpersonal communication as a form of character education for students.

Abstract

Based on the results of interviews conducted by researchers with guidance and counseling teachers at State Junior High School 3 Kebumen, some students do not have an understanding of the impact of free sex, marked by many students who claim to have watched adult videos that they should not have watched even since elementary school. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of the implementation of cartoon puppet media group guidance services to increase understanding of the impact of free sex in junior high school. This research uses quantitative research, with an experimental research type and a One-Group Pretest-post-test research design. The research subjects were VIII grade State Junior High School 3 Kebumen students. With a research subject of 6 students who were given treatment selected by simple random sampling. Data collection techniques and instruments use questions related to understanding the impact of free sex. Data analysis techniques using normality test, homogeneity test, and Paired sample t-test. The results of the Paired sample t-test test show the value (Sig.) (2-tiled) of 0.002 <0.05, so Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. Based on the research that has been carried out, it can be concluded that cartoon puppet media is effective for increasing students' understanding of the impact of free sex. Keywords: cartoon puppet media, casual sex

Abstract

AbstractThis research is motivated by the presence of students who tend to procrastinate on assignments given by the teacher, thereby disrupting their learning process. That happens because self-management among students is lacking, as self-management in terms of learning is necessary. The purpose of this research is to describe: 1) The profile of students' self-regulation. 2) The profile of students' academic procrastination. 3) To examine the relationship between self-regulation and students' academic procrastination. Paraphrase text. This research uses a descriptive correlational quantitative method with a population of 348 students. The sample in this study consisted of 186 people using the proportional random sampling technique. The instruments used in this study are the academic procrastination questionnaire and the self-regulation questionnaire. Data analysis in this study is descriptive statistics and product moment correlation. The results of the research on the relationship between self-regulation and academic procrastination of twelfth-grade students at Padang State High School 3 reveal that: 1) The self-regulation profile of the students is in the moderate category. 2) The academic procrastination profile of the students is in the moderate category. 3) There is a very weak correlation between self-regulation and academic procrastination of the students.
