Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic that has hit the world, including Indonesia, has prompted changes in education policy, from a face-to-face model to a distance learning model. Distance learning through online media has generated a lot of educational discrimination. Schools in urban areas are generally able to design online learning well because they are supported by smartphone facilities owned by all students and the ease of internet networks. However, in rural schools, online learning is quite tricky because not all students have smartphones and internet network problems. This study aims to determine the implementation of learning during the Covid-19 Pandemic in private schools. This research is qualitative research with a case study approach with cyclic analysis at the Junior High School of Muhammadiyah Tonjong. This study found that online learning during the Covid-19 pandemic made the world of education experience discrimination. Online learning at the Junior High School of Muhammadiyah Tonjong during the Covid-19 Pandemic ran without structured planning, and incomplete smartphone devices make learning ineffective. It causes the quality of students in the mastery of teaching materials is less than optimal and reduces student achievement. Optimization of online learning activities is carried out by assigning individual and group assignments to all students. In practical learning, students are requested to make videos in groups.

The numbers of marriage conducted by the office of ministry of religious affairs in  Tegal District is considered as high in which it is included in the biggest of five in  Central Java province. From January 2016 to June 2016, there are 3.928 marriages that were serviced by the office of ministry of religious affairs in such town. This study aims to explore the quality of services provided by such office whether it is in line with the people’s expectation and its reality or not. This research uses qualitative approach and it is conducted at four offices of ministry of religious affairs (KUA/Kantor Urusan Agama) in four sub districts including Adiwerna, Lebaksiu, Talang and Dukuhturi. Results of this research depict that the index of people’s expectation toward services offered by those offices are 81,30 which is considered as in a good level. However, there still needs some emendation in the management system and enhancement of human resources. This emendation will play to narrow the gap between consumer’s expectation on the offered services and the reality that they are gained.

Abstract

There are many Buddhist religious rituals in Indonesia. One of them is Tribuana Manggala Bakti which contains universal values in nature conservation. The purpose of this study is to describe the dynamics of the Menoreh community in terms of managing the natural environment, to describe Tribuana Manggala Bakti as Buddhist spirituality, and to analyze the role of Tribuana Manggala Bakti spirituality with universal values in Menoreh environmental management. This research is a qualitative research with library research. This study uses the theory of using Capra's holistic spiritual theory in understanding the function and purpose of Tribuana Manggala Bakti. Menoreh's natural resource management started from an ideational culture to a sensate culture. Sensate culture is seen when people begin to exploit natural resources. Tribuana Manggala Bakti originated from the concern of Buddhists towards the Menoreh nature. Tribuana Manggala Bakti is a series of Vesak events in the form of taking Vesak holy water followed by tree planting, and releasing fish and birds. The release of animals and the planting of trees as a tangible form of awareness of the importance of nature underlies the behavior of an environmentally friendly lifestyle, protecting and caring for the environment. As said by Fritjof Capra as one of the real solutions to the environmental crisis. In Ecoliteracy Capra, realizing the importance of nature has an impact on environmentally friendly lifestyle behavior, protecting and caring for the environment.

Abstract

Mathematics is one of the most important subjects, but it often becomes a scourge for most students. Lack of student motivation is an obstacle and also affects the learning outcomes in Mathematics. The SAVI (Somatic, Auditory, Visual, Intellectual) approach integrated with the verses of Al-Qur’an into mathematical material is an alternative method of learning. This article aims at describing students' motivation and learning outcomes in mathematics through that SAVI approach.  The approach used is a quasi-experiment with non-equivalent control group design. The study was conducted at MTs Madani Alauddin Gowa. The sample consisted of class VIII A, 32 people as the control class and class VIII B, 32 people as the experiment class. Data were analyzed with descriptive and inferential statistical analysis. The results showed that the average students’ motivation increased 10% in the experimental class and in the control class increased by 3%; and the average student learning outcomes increased by 23% in the experimental class and in the control class increased by 7%. Thus, there are differences in learning motivation and student learning outcomes between classes that apply and those that do not apply the SAVI approach by integrating Qur'anic verses. In short, it effectively increases students' motivation and learning outcomes in mathematics so that it can become alternative learning methods.

Abstract

The psychiatric conditions of patients being treated in hospitals vary so that physical, psychological, medical and spiritual services are needed for all patients. This shows the importance of holistic treatment including medical and non-medical actions which enable them to get motivation, entertainment, support, suggestions, empathy and various matters relating to the psychological aspects. This study is intended to reveal the importance and implementation of Islamic counselling at Roemani Muhammadiyah Hospital Semarang. As a qualitative field research, data were collected through free interviews, participant observation, and documentation. All data were analyzed by the phenomenological approach and descriptive analysis using the logic of induction, deduction, and reflection. The findings suggested that Islamic counseling is needed for inpatients because everyone always has four dimensions: biological or physical, psychological, social, and spiritual. These four dimensions are one unit that is interrelated to determine the quality of one’s health. The existing Islamic guidance and counseling has not yet implemented a system of professional counseling services. The form of all services provided to patients is almost just guidance service model such as giving prayer, motivation, worship, and advices so that there has not been implemented counseling services. Moreover, many Islamic counseling service officers at Roemani hospital in Muhammadiyah Semarang have not fully understood the stages that must be performed by a counselor in providing counseling services.

Abstract

The Directorate General of Buddhist Community Guidance (Ditjen Bimas Buddha) has carried out a bureaucratic reform program since 2012 intending to become a work unit with a predicate Free Area from Corruption. The unfolding of the grand corruption case involving top officials in the project to procure religious education books raises whether the same corruption also occurs in religious services for the Buddhist community. This research aims to uncover the petty corruption levels in religious services and the factors contributing to these outcomes. This research uses a mixed-method approach with a sequential explanatory research design that applies surveys and qualitative methods to explain the survey achievements with GONE theory analysis from Bologna. This study's findings are the value of the corruption behavior of religious services at the Directorate General of Bimas Buddha exceeds the minimum score of 13.5 to get the predicate of a corruption-free area. The level of petty corruption in religious services is deficient, thus meeting a Corruption Free Zone's requirements. The factors that contribute to this achievement are the fulfillment of the basic needs of service officers by institutions, the low greed of officers due to pujabakti activities initiated by service officers personally, the reduced opportunities for corruption with the implementation of e-government (Organization Information System applications and Houses of Worship.

Abstract

Durkheim’s Social Theory looks societies as the sacred. He argues that in each society, there is a general system of belief which legitimatizes a social order that lead to collective awareness, network, binding symbol. These keep the social order continuously. Religions bring meanings to individual and social life, as well as give hope for external life in the hereafter. Religion takes a part in strengthening the social group’s norms, moral sanctions to individual behavior, and shared objective foundations of values for the society. This is a library research which tries to explain the relevance of Durkheim’s social theory on the recent modern Indonesian context that is more open, pro-alteration, religious plurality, and tend to take side on the certain group. Findings of this study portray that Society had experienced the paradigm shifting from sacred society to profane society, such as there is an idea of enforcing Islamic law in Indonesia. Durkheim’s sociological theory is considered less able to explain the phenomena of religious pluralism, especially on the case of suicide bombing in the name of religion (jihad). Secondly, religion is used to commit violence and to claim their rightness.

Abstract

Eschatology is a doctrine of theology concerned with the end of the world or end times. It is futuristic, that is to say, a doctrine directed to the future. Islam has pillars that everyone must have or often referred to as the pillars of faith. One of which is the belief in things that will happen in the future, especially life after death. Discussion about life after death is included in eschatology. This study is intended to describe the content of classical Malay texts; Syair Ibarat and Khabar Kiamat. The study of this text is done by approaching the eschatological concepts contained in the text. The findings are that this poem contains eschatological concepts, namely (1) death, (2) barzakh (a period or state between death and resurrection), (3) kiamat (doomsday), (4) resurrection day, (5) mahsyar (6) heaven, and (7) hell. The study of the concept of eschatology in the classical Malay texts of Syair Ibarat and Khabar Kiamat is a means to convince human beings about life after death.
