Abstract

This development is motivated by the needs of schools which require comparative teaching materials that can overcome the monotonous learning of spatial structures. This development aims to produce a pocket book based on Augemented Reality (AR) with a TaRL approach to improve student's mathematical problem solving abilities that are valid, practical and effective. This research method is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE research model, namely analyze, design, development, implementation and evaluation. The instruments used are an expert validation questionnaire sheet, a teacher practicality questionnaire sheet, a student practicality questionnaire sheet, and a test of students' mathematical problem solving abilities. The results of the research show that the quality of this pocket book meets validity with an average score of 95.15% in the “very valid” category, meets practicality by teachers with an average score of 89% and practicality by students with an average score of 91.1% in the “very practical” category. Meanwhile, the test results meet the “effective” category with an average score of 0.8 with high criteria. It can be concluded that pocket book based on AR with the TaRL approach meets the criteria of being valid, practical and effective so that it can be used in learning.

Abstract

The majority of scholarship providers in Indonesia typically mandate that scholarship recipients must return to their home country upon the completion of their studies. However, the Beasiswa NTB, a scholarship programme sponsored by the regional government of NTB, stands as an exception to this requirement, allowing recipients to study abroad without the obligation of returning home. The government of NTB permits recipients of awards to pursue professional opportunities either domestically or internationally. The policy document lacks comprehensive clauses pertaining to this policy, resulting in minimal concern from both the general public and academic community. The objective of this study is to examine the public perceptions regarding this particular policy. This study employs a qualitative research approach, involving a sample of 128 participants from various demographic backgrounds. The data collection method utilised open-ended questionnaires to gather responses from the respondents. The research findings offer valuable insights to local governments and relevant stakeholders, highlighting the necessity of reviewing and reissuing policies to effectively address regional needs and ensure reciprocal local spending.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the implementation of the Assemblr Edu application based on augmented reality (AR) in introducing farm animals to students with disabilities at Tamima Mumtaz Special School (SLB). The research was conducted using quantitative methods through Pretest and post-test. Data were obtained through participatory observation, in-depth interviews with teachers, analysis of supporting documents, and learning media experiments. The results showed that the use of Assemblr Edu can increase the interest and understanding of deaf students on farm animal material. Visualization of animals in three-dimensional and interactive form helps students to more easily recognize and understand the characteristics of these animals. Teachers also reported an increase in student participation in teaching and learning activities as well as improved cognitive and fine motor skills. However, this study also found some obstacles, such as limited technology infrastructure in schools and the need for additional training for teachers. Overall, the implementation of Assemblr Edu in Tamima Mumtaz SLB shows great potential as an effective learning tool for students with disabilities, although it needs further adjustments and support to optimize the learning process.

Abstract

Cerebral palsy (CP) is a condition in children that has an impact on motoric and intelligence that is below average, causing the individual to be less able to adapt and make decisions in life, especially when there is a sudden earthquake disaster. In addition, not many learning media have been developed that are in accordance with the characteristics and needs of CP students. This study aims to develop a serious game as an educational medium for earthquake disasters for mentally retarded students. This study uses the ADDIE model from Lee & Owens, and the implementation is carried out on students with mental retardation in the learning process of earthquake disaster mitigation, which will be followed up in the revision of the final product. At the analysis stage, trials were carried out on the conditions of disaster mitigation learning practices at Tamima Mumtaz Special School as a research location with field visits and literature studies. The instrument used to assess product development uses a questionnaire aimed at media experts, material experts, practitioners and users, namely mentally retarded students. The results of the questionnaire will be analyzed using a mean analysis which in expert validation gets the final result 90.8% and in the media trial 88.1%. Descriptive data in the questionnaire was used as a basis for product development revisions. The conclusion is that serious games as an earthquake disaster mitigation medium for CP students are considered very feasible to be implemented as earthquake disaster mitigation media in the learning process of mentally retarded students.
