Journal of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Business (RIGGS) is published by the Department of Digital Business, Universitas Pahlawan Tuanku Tambusai in helping academics, researchers, and practitioners to disseminate their research results. Abstract

This study examines CIMB Niaga Bank's use of social media for marketing its banking products, focusing on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook. A qualitative case study approach was used, involving in-depth interviews with five purposively selected respondents, including marketing staff, social media managers, and two customers who engage with the bank’s content. The findings show that while social media has a positive impact on brand recognition, challenges include maintaining consistent content across platforms and measuring the direct impact of social media engagement on account openings or transactions. The study recommends adjusting the tone and format of messages for each platform’s audience and enhancing analytical tools to measure campaign effectiveness. This research paves the way for future studies comparing digital marketing practices in the banking and non-financial sectors in Indonesia.

Abstract

Sistem rekrutmen guru yang baik dan profesional menjadi elemen penting dalam menunjang keberhasilan pendidikan di sekolah. Sophos School Indonesia merupakan salah satu lembaga pendidikan yang berkomitmen untuk merekrut guru secara selektif guna meningkatkan mutu pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap proses rekrutmen guru di Sophos School Indonesia serta bagaimana sistem tersebut berkontribusi terhadap peningkatan mutu pembelajaran. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa proses rekrutmen yang transparan, berbasis kompetensi, dan melalui tahapan seleksi yang ketat mampu menghasilkan guru berkualitas yang berdampak positif terhadap kualitas pembelajaran.

Abstract

Penelitian ini berfokus pada analisis dampak guncangan shock pengeluaran pemerintah terhadap dinamika neraca transaksi berjalan di Indonesia selama periode 2000 hingga 2020. Dengan memanfaatkan pendekatan Vector Autoregressive (VAR), penelitian ini menguji interaksi kompleks antar variabel makroekonomi, yaitu pengeluaran pemerintah, konsumsi rumah tangga, tingkat inflasi, suku bunga nominal, nilai tukar riil, serta saldo neraca transaksi berjalan. Seluruh data yang dianalisis bersumber dari publikasi resmi lembaga internasional, yakni Federal Reserve Economic Data (FRED) dan Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), sehingga menjamin validitas dan reliabilitas informasi yang digunakan. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa adanya kejutan fiskal berupa peningkatan pengeluaran pemerintah berdampak langsung pada kenaikan konsumsi swasta, mendorong laju inflasi, serta menyebabkan lonjakan suku bunga nominal. Selain itu, respons pasar menyebabkan nilai tukar riil mengalami apresiasi, yang pada akhirnya memperburuk posisi neraca transaksi berjalan Indonesia. Temuan ini menggarisbawahi pentingnya koordinasi kebijakan fiskal dan moneter dalam menjaga stabilitas eksternal ekonomi nasional, terutama dalam menghadapi tekanan global dan fluktuasi internal.

Abstract

As digital transformation redefines organizational dynamics, understanding how culture influences employees’ readiness for change becomes increasingly critical. This mixed-method study investigates the relationship between organizational culture and change readiness among employees in private universities in Indonesia, a sector under mounting pressure to modernize through digital innovation. Drawing on a quantitative survey (n = 312) and in-depth qualitative interviews (n = 20), the research explores how specific cultural dimensions, psychological dispositions, and leadership perceptions shape change receptivity. The findings reveal that an adhocracy culture significantly enhances readiness for change, with employees responding positively to environments that promote innovation and autonomy. However, a psychological gap emerged wherein motivational commitment to change surpassed beliefs in collective efficacy, indicating a disparity between willingness and perceived capability. Moreover, cultural narratives—embedded in shared experiences and symbols—strongly influence how employees interpret and emotionally respond to organizational change. Leadership behavior was also found to be a decisive factor, as trust in transformational leaders increased acceptance of change. This study contributes theoretically by integrating Schein’s cultural model, Weiner’s theory of organizational readiness, and insights from transformational leadership theory to explain change dynamics in digitally evolving academic institutions. Practically, it offers guidance for human resource and change management strategies in higher education and other knowledge-intensive sectors facing digital disruption.

Abstract

In response to the increasing shift toward hybrid work arrangements, this study investigates the role of digital leadership in shaping employee engagement, emphasizing the mediating effects of trust in leadership and digital communication. Drawing on the Job Demands–Resources (JD–R) model and Social Exchange Theory, this research adopts a quantitative approach using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) based on survey data collected from 385 employees working under hybrid systems in diverse organizational settings. The findings reveal that digital leadership has a significant positive direct effect on employee engagement (β = 0.36, p < 0.001). Furthermore, trust in leadership and digital communication both serve as partial mediators in this relationship, indicating that relational and communicative mechanisms are crucial for sustaining engagement in digitally mediated environments. The structural model explained 51% of the variance in employee engagement, demonstrating strong explanatory power. These results extend current leadership theory by contextualizing digital leadership within hybrid work structures and emphasizing the need for trust-building and high-quality communication. The study contributes to the HRM literature by offering actionable insights for organizations seeking to optimize leadership strategies and communication infrastructures in evolving digital workplaces. Despite limitations related to cross-sectional data and sample generalizability, the research provides a foundation for future longitudinal and cross-cultural investigations into digital leadership dynamics.

Abstract

As conversational artificial intelligence (AI) continues to transform digital commerce, understanding how chatbot-mediated interactions shape consumer decision-making is essential. This study investigates the role of AI-based chatbots in influencing consumer purchase behavior through real-time, natural language communication. Focusing on the emerging dimensions of perceived empathy and trust, the research employs a mixed-methods approach combining a quantitative survey (n = 420) and qualitative text mining of chatbot dialogues collected from the used car sales sector in the Tangerang region, Indonesia. Findings reveal four key insights: (1) perceived empathy strongly predicts consumer trust, (2) trust in AI significantly drives behavioral intention to purchase, (3) empathy also directly influences intention, and (4) empathetic language triggers engagement during chatbot interactions. These results demonstrate that affective communication by AI agents is a critical driver of consumer responses in digital transactions. The study extends the Technology Acceptance Model by integrating emotional constructs and contributes to human resource and marketing strategy by showing how emotional intelligence, when encoded into AI systems, affects relational and behavioral outcomes. Despite the geographic and sectoral limitations of the sample, the findings underscore the growing need to humanize AI communication in commerce. Future research should explore cross-cultural validations and assess AI–human interaction in broader organizational contexts.

Abstract

Good public service organizations require quality human resources to improve employee performance. This research was conducted at the Population and Civil Registration Office of Simalungun Regency, which faces problems with employees being less responsive and slow in their work, thus having a negative impact on the government's image in the eyes of the public. The research objective is to determine the influence of emotional intelligence and motivation on employee performance. The research method uses a quantitative approach with data collection through questionnaires to 73 employees as research samples using saturated sampling technique. Data analysis techniques use SPSS 25 program for validity testing, reliability, simple linear regression analysis, correlation coefficient, and coefficient of determination. The research results show that emotional intelligence and motivation have a positive and significant effect on employee performance at the Population and Civil Registration Office of Simalungun Regency. These findings indicate that improving emotional intelligence and work motivation can be an effective strategy to enhance employee performance in public service.

Abstract

Era digital telah menghadirkan algoritma sebagai elemen kunci dalam distribusi informasi, yang secara signifikan memengaruhi pola konsumsi dan preferensi pengguna. Artikel ini mengeksplorasi efek polarisasi yang ditimbulkan oleh algoritma media melalui lensa teori kekuasaan dan pengetahuan Michel Foucault. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan analisis wacana, artikel ini menganalisis peran algoritma dalam membentuk opini publik dan preferensi informasi melalui mekanisme seleksi dan rekomendasi konten. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa algoritma berfungsi sebagai alat kekuasaan modern yang membentuk rezim kebenaran, menciptakan dominasi baru atas produksi dan kontrol pengetahuan. Perspektif Foucault membantu mengungkap bagaimana kekuasaan algoritmik memperkuat polarisasi informasi dan mengubah dinamika hubungan manusia dengan pengetahuan. Penelitian ini menawarkan wawasan kritis terhadap pengaruh algoritma dalam kehidupan sosial kontemporer dan relevansinya dengan konsep panoptikon digital.

Abstract

Artikel ini merupakan kajian teoritis yang membahas morbiditas (angka kesakitan) dan mortalitas (angka kematian) dalam perspektif ekonomi demografi. Morbiditas dan mortalitas tidak hanya mencerminkan kondisi kesehatan masyarakat, tetapi juga berdampak signifikan terhadap produktivitas tenaga kerja, pertumbuhan ekonomi, dan beban fiskal negara. Kajian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dengan metode studi pustaka, yang mengintegrasikan berbagai teori klasik seperti Human Capital Theory (Becker), Health Capital (Grossman), Transisi Epidemiologi (Omran), dan pendekatan capability (Sen). Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa tingginya angka kesakitan dan kematian, khususnya di usia produktif, menurunkan efisiensi ekonomi dan memperbesar beban pembiayaan kesehatan. Indonesia menghadapi tantangan ganda berupa meningkatnya penyakit tidak menular tanpa sepenuhnya mengatasi penyakit menular. Ketimpangan akses layanan kesehatan antara wilayah dan kelompok sosial memperparah masalah ini. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan kebijakan lintas sektor yang menempatkan kesehatan sebagai investasi strategis, bukan semata pengeluaran. Kajian ini diharapkan dapat memperkaya literatur ekonomi demografi di Indonesia serta mendorong pengambilan kebijakan yang lebih berbasis bukti dan berorientasi pada keadilan sosial.

Abstract

Motivasi intrinsik, yang berasal dari dorongan internal seperti rasa ingin tahu, kepuasan personal, dan keinginan untuk berkembang, dianggap sebagai elemen kunci dalam mendorong karyawan untuk menghasilkan ide-ide segar dan berpikir secara inovatif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi secara menyeluruh bagaimana motivasi intrinsik berperan dalam meningkatkan kreativitas karyawan di tempat kerja. Studi ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus pada perusahaan yang menerapkan budaya kerja yang mendorong kreativitas. Data diperoleh melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi langsung, dan analisis dokumen, yang kemudian dianalisis menggunakan pendekatan tematik. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa karyawan dengan tingkat motivasi intrinsik yang tinggi cenderung lebih proaktif, kreatif dalam menyelesaikan pekerjaan, berani menyampaikan ide-ide alternatif, dan lebih fleksibel terhadap perubahan. Aspek-aspek seperti keterikatan terhadap pekerjaan, dukungan dari pimpinan, serta ruang kebebasan untuk berekspresi turut memperkuat motivasi dari dalam diri karyawan. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini menekankan pentingnya menciptakan lingkungan kerja yang mendukung kebebasan berpikir, penghargaan terhadap kontribusi individu, serta kesempatan untuk berkembang sebagai strategi untuk mengoptimalkan kreativitas karyawan. Hasil ini memberikan kontribusi dalam merancang pendekatan manajerial yang menumbuhkan motivasi intrinsik secara berkelanjutan.
