Abstract

Abstract: The educational landscape has undergone significant transformations in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, with one notable change being the adoption of virtual platforms for conducting extracurricular activities. This approach marks a departure from traditional practices, as these activities were previously never executed in such a manner. Therefore, this study aims to identify the various forms of virtual implementation of extracurricular activities during the COVID-19 pandemic. In this study, a mixed-methods approach is intended to analyze needs as an initial step in designing the implementation of extracurricular activities during the pandemic. Data was gathered through interviews with the deputy head of the student affairs department and teachers, as well as quantitative data gathered through questionnaires distributed to 20 students from SMAN 3 Banda Aceh. An interactive model and percentage statistics were then used to analyze the data. According to the conclusions drawn from the needs analysis, students chose to implement extracurricular activities in two ways: virtually and non-virtually. Video editing (27.8%), spelling bee (27.8%), cooking class (16.7%), and vocal solo (5.6%) were the four most popular virtual activities. As a result, it is reasonable to deduce that students opted to persist with virtual implementations of extracurricular activities amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly placing emphasis on these four highlighted activities. Subsequent to this research, a study will be undertaken to formulate the design and procedural framework for the execution of extracurricular activities amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Abstrak: Perubahan besar dalam dunia pendidikan telah terjadi pasca pandemic Covid-19. Salah satunya adalah pelaksanaan kegiatan ekstrakurikuler yang dapat dilaksanakan secara virtual, padahal hal itu belum pernah dilakukan sebelumnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasikan bentuk-bentuk pelaksanaan kegiatan ektrakurikuler yang dapat dilaksanakan secara virtual/daring pada masa pandemi covid-19. Penggunaan metode mix method dalam penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan analisis kebutuhan sebagai sebuah kegiatan awal dalam melakukan rancang bangun terhadap pelaksanaan kegiatan ekstrakurikuler pada masa pandemi covid-19. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara pada wakil kepala bidang kesiswaan, guru, dan data kuantitatif melalui angket yang disebarkan kepada 20 orang siswa SMAN 3 Banda Aceh, selanjutnya data dianalisis dengan model interaktif dan statistic persentase. Hasil penelitian dari analisis kebutuhan menunjukkan bahwa siswa memilih kegiatan ekstrakurikuler diilaksanakan dalam dua cara, yaitu secara virtual dan non virtual. Untuk kegiatan virtual ditemukan 4 kegiatan yang sangat diminati siswa, yaitu video editing sebanyak 27,8%, speling bee sebanyak 27,8%, kelas memasak sebanyak 16,7%, vocal solo 5,6%. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan peserta didik memutuskan tetap melaksanakan kegiatan ekstrakurikuler pada masa pandemic covid-19 secara virtual dengan kegiatan 4 kegiatan tersebut. Penelitian ini akan dilanjutkan dengan penelitian pengembangan rancang bangun langkah kegiatan ektrakurikuler pada masa pandemi covid-19.

Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology in education is rising, with ChatGPT, an advanced AI chatbot developed by OpenAI, gaining popularity. This study focuses on exploring the potential of ChatGPT in enhancing academic learning in sociology and politics. Using a quantitative research approach, the study examines student engagement with ChatGPT in an educational setting. The research was conducted with 23 fourth-semester undergraduate students in early 2023. The findings indicate that ChatGPT generates enthusiasm and high levels of student engagement, facilitating activities such as idea exchange, discussions, analysis, and motivation. However, the integration of ChatGPT in education requires well-defined strategies and pedagogical approaches that prioritize critical thinking skills and access to fact-checking resources. The study suggests future research directions to ensure the responsible use of chatbots like ChatGPT in academic environments. Although challenges exist, such as potential bias, the need for human oversight, and risks of misuse, effective management can overcome these obstacles. Leveraging AI in education offers opportunities for students to develop an early understanding of social biases, critical elements, and risks associated with AI implementation. The study concludes with recommendations for addressing these challenges and promoting the ethical use of ChatGPT in education.

Abstract

Untuk mencapai tujuan pendidikan diperlukan satu kepemimpinan kepala sekolah yang efektif. Perkembangan teori kepemimpinan hingga saat ini sangat variatif dan inovatif. Dengan mengetahui perkembangan implementasi kepemimpinan kepala sekolah di SMK Negeri 4 Kota Jambi diharapkan menghadirkan solusi dalam membangun kepemimpinan yang efektif di lembaga pendidikan. Penelitian dilakukan di SMK Negeri 4 Kota Jambi menggunakan rancangan kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi. Fokus penelitian terdiri dari (1) kepala sekolah dalam menjalankan fungsi sebagai pemimpin lembaga pendidikan; (2) ketercapaian tujuan sekolah; dan (3) faktor yang menjadi kendala implementasi kepemimpinan kepala sekolah.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the Strategic Management of Higher Education in Increasing the Effectiveness of PTKIS management in Jambi Province, to reveal the strategies carried out by PTKIS managers and to formulate, implement and evaluate strategies in increasing the effectiveness of PTKIS in Jambi Province. The results showed that the strategic planning of PTKIS in Jambi Province in increasing effectiveness was constrained by several factors as follows: Manager's lack of understanding in implementing strategic management, communication between managers and subordinates is not aligned, strategic goals are not aligned with the actions taken, ideas and innovations are not supported by plans precise, and passive management, as well as manager motivation that only targets personal gain rather than common goals. To overcome the above problems, universities should implement the following actions: be close to stakeholders to understand needs, give autonomy to employees so that they foster an entrepreneurial spirit, managers are actively involved and employees know what the organization wants and have a flexible and simple organizational structure.

Abstract

Abstract: This study emerged from a crucial need to find out factors influencing educational staff in the implementation of Education for Sustainable Development in actual Dayah practices in Aceh. The objective of this research is to provide an extensive overview regarding how to boost the quality of teachers and educational employees in Aceh's Dayah. The study aims to create an effective step-by-step approach for increasing the quality of instructors and educational staff in Aceh's Dayah province. The study employs an explanatory qualitative method. Amongst the data resources are Dayah department leaders, program coordinators, and other employees and staff from Dayah educational departments. Despite the fact that academics possess diverse individual interests and motivations to participate in education for sustainable development, their engagement is influenced by factors such as the advantages of pursuing higher education, attending workshops and training, undertaking internships, and participating in capacity-building initiatives. However, resource limitations, including restricted financial means, limited access to information technology, and a lack of access to external organizational information, can potentially exacerbate the challenges mentioned earlier. This study provides a formulative model connected to disparities in policy and visions of sustainable development in regard to principles and roles of Dayah Education in enhancing the quality of educational programs. Abstrak: Urgensitas kebutuhan terhadap identifikasi faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi tenaga kependidikan dalam melaksanakan Pendidikan untuk Pembangunan Berkelanjutan dalam praktik nyata Dayah di Aceh. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mendapatkan gambaran komprehensif terhadap peningkatan kualitas tenaga pengajar dan tenaga kependidikan dayah di Aceh. Penelitian berupaya menghasilkan model langkah efektif untuk meningkatkan kualitas tenaga pengajar dan tenaga kependidikan dayah di Aceh. Kajian ini difokuskan pada beberapa aspek, pertama aspek kebutuhan dan ketersediaan tenaga pendidik dan tenaga kependidikan dayah, kedua aspek kualifikasi tenaga pengajar dan tenaga kependidikan dayah, ketiga upaya dan kendala dalam peningkatan kualitas tenaga pendidik dan tenaga kependidikan dayah. tenaga kependidikan di Aceh, baik pesantren Salafiyah maupun Diniyah. Penelitian berjenis kualitatif eksplanatory. Sumber informan berasal dari kepala dinas dayah, koordinator program dan beberapa karyawan dan staf dinas pendidikan dayah. Studi ini menunjukkan bahwa meskipun akademisi mungkin memiliki minat dan motivasi pribadi untuk terlibat dalam pendidikan menuju kepada sustainabilitas pembangunan. Adapun faktor-faktor seperti manfaat melanjutkan pendidikan di tingkat universitas, lokakarya/ pelatihan, magang, peningkatan kapasitas, tetapi di antara manfaatnya ada faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi seperti kurangnya sumber daya keuangan, keterbatasan akses teknologi informasi dan keterbatasan akses informasi ke lembaga eksternal. Penelitian ini memberikan model formulatif berkaitan dengan kebijakan perbedaan pandangan dan visi pembangunan berkelanjutan dalam aspek prinsip dan peran Pendidikan Dayah dalam meningkatkan mutu pendidikan pesantren di Aceh.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perencanaan, pelaksanaan dan evaluasi, Sarak Opat dalam pembinaan akhlak remaja di Kampung Simpang Balik Kecamatan Wih Pesam. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif jenis field research dengan pendekatan kualitatif yaitu mengambarkan fenomena fenomena yang terjadi. Hasil penelitian adalah perencanaan Perencanaan program dilakukan oleh pihak pemerintah kampung dibantu oleh masyarakat seperti (a) melibatkan remaja  disetiap kegiatan keagamaan; (b) membentuk tim olahraga serta mempasilitasinya; (c) membentuk remaja masjid, (d) melibatkan remaja pada kegiatan bakti sosial. Imam biasanya hanya memberikan pembinaan, masukan terhadap remaja. Perencanaan program ditangani oleh tokoh masyarakat pelatih sesuai dengan kemampuan dan keahlian masing-masing. Pelaksanaan Sarak Opat dalam Pembinaan Akhlak Remaja di Kampung Simpang Balik Kecamatan Wih Pesam dengan cara: (a) mengikut sertakan remaja pada kegiatan keagamaan yang dilaksanakan pada malam hari di Masjid. Program ini disebut dengan pengajian lepas magrib; (b) membentuk serta mempasilitasi kegiatan olahraga, jegiatan ini juga dilakukan pada malam hari, karena pada siang hari remaja memiliki kegiatan masing-masing; (c) membentuk dan mengadakan pengajian remaja masjid, (d) melibatkan remaja pada kegiatan bakti sosial, salah satunya diterapkan pada hari-hari tertentu seperti Jum’at bersih. Kegiatan ini diharapkan agar generasi mudah dapat mandiri berdasarkan bidang keahlian dan bakat yang dimilikinya dapat tersalurkan dengan baik.  Evaluasi Sarak Opat dalam pembinaan akhlak remaja di Kampung Simpang Balik Kecamatan Wih Pesam yaitu evaluasi keagamaan dilakukan oleh imam dan tokoh masyarakat setiap satu bulan sekali, sedangkan evaluasi pembinaan olahraga dilakukan oleh pemuda dan pemudi setelah hasil musyawarah.

Abstract

The economy of education is understood as a financial transaction and a social investment with broad and sustainable effects (development of national civilization). This research aims to provide a brief overview of the development of the economy of education, highlight relevant literature, and discuss the problems and opportunities it offers. This research aims to identify critical factors in BiH's education economy that influence the country's educational development and economic growth. This research is qualitative and uses benchmarking. The research results explain the identification of several crucial factors in the economic pillars of education, i.e., government policy, the level of educators' welfare, education and training, information and communication technology (ICT), and research and development. Based on these findings, this research constructs measures and strategies to improve the development of the educational knowledge economy in Bosnia and Herzegovina. In addition to strategic policy factors, analyzing factors influencing the economic effectiveness of education in Bosnia and Herzegovina identified important elements such as fantastic location, cost-efficient education, internationally recognized education, and several interesting and contemporary study program options. The synergy between components in the education system results in educational excellence in quality and accessibility. A comprehensive and diverse education system prepares students for successful careers. An inclusive and multilingual environment encourages diversity and professional skills.

Abstract

Tujuan penulisan artikel ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan perilaku komunikasi kepala sekolah dalam mengelola dan menggerakkan para guru untuk meningkatan kinerjanya. Komunikasi kepala sekolah dengan para guru dapat berfungsi menyampaikan perintah, menyalurkan informasi atau berita, memberikan nasehat dan memberikan penilaian terhadap kinerja para guru. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode library research dengan pendekatan kualitatif dan pengumpulan data dengan cara membaca berbagai literatur untuk mendeskripsikan perilaku kepala sekolah dalam peningkatan kinerja para guru. Berdasarkan hasil pembahasan bahwa perilaku komunikasi kepala sekolah dalam peningkatan kinerja guru dapat digolongkan efektif apabila perilaku komunikasi kepala sekolah tersebut berfungsi sebagai berikut: (1) komunikasi sebagai perintah (instructive) peningkatan kinerja guru; (2) komunikasi sebagai informasi (informative) peningkatan kinerja guru; (3) komunikasi sebagai nasehat (influencing) peningkatan kinerja guru, dan (4) komunikasi sebagai evaluasi (evaluative) peningkatan kinerja guru. Hasil kajian ini dapat direkomendasikan kepada kepala sekolah, pengawas dan stakeholder pendidikan lainnya supaya dapat terus-menerus membangun perilaku kominikasi yang baik dalam upaya peningkatan kinerja para guru.

Abstract

This study explores the strategies and challenges involved in managing religious tolerance in Islamic schools in India. This study specifically examines the implementation of education in Dar-ul Madinah international Islamic School System and Al Hira International Islamic School, both of which follow Islamic principles. The study utilizes a descriptive qualitative survey methodology to gather insights from key stakeholders such as school administrators, teachers, and students. By employing this methodology, the research seeks to understand the strategies Islamic the school employs to promote religious tolerance and identify the obstacles they face. Since Islam is a minority religion in India, these schools encounter unique challenges. findings will contribute to the existing knowledge on religious tolerance in the Indian educational landscape and provide valuable insights for school administrators, policymakers, and educators. Dar-ul Madinah international Islamic School System and Al Hira Islamic School is a model for promoting religious tolerance by implementing best practices in curriculum design, interfaith dialogue, and creating an inclusive environment. By adopting these strategies, the school fosters an environment where students understand Islam comprehensively, engage in positive interactions with other faiths, and experience the benefits of a diverse and inclusive community. Additionally, the management of these schools prioritizes religious tolerance, allowing students to adapt and coexist harmoniously with the majority Hindu community. The study examines the educational practices of these schools in alignment with their vision and mission. It proposes strategies for implementing religious tolerance-based education, which can serve as a blueprint for Islamic schools in minority countries.

Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this research is to develop interactive learning media called “Gerhana” (Gerakan Pembaharuan Islam di Indonesia) as android applications. The media is used to determine the feasibility of the product and student responses to the application. This research employs the APPED Research and Development Model (analysis, planning, production, evaluation, and dissemination). The instrument used is a media and material expert validation questionnaire, as well as a student response questionnaire. The instrument was administered to 30 students at the Islamic History class subject (Grade 10), at the Islamic Senior High School (ISHS) 9, Jombang. The initial media validation test generated an average score of 86 percent, while the second one resulted in 84 percent with a very valid category. The results of the initial material validation test had an average score of 92 percent, while the second one was 87 percent with very valid criteria. Further, the results of the user test in the form of a student response questionnaire resulted in average score of 80 percent with decent criteria. Therefore, according to the results of the user test and students' response suggest that the “Gerhana” application is feasible. Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran interaktif yang diberi nama Gerhana (Gerakan Pembaruan Islam di Indonesia) berupa aplikasi Android. Media digunakan untuk mengetahui kelayakan produk dan respon siswa terhadap aplikasi media Gerhana (Gerakan Pembaruan Islam di Indonesia) pada mata pelajaran Sejarah Islam XI di Madrasah Aliyah Negeri (MAN) 9 Jombang. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif model penelitian dan pengembangan (Research and Development) meliputi analisis, perencanaan, produksi, evaluasi, diseminasi (APPED). Instruman yang digunakan adalah angket validasi ahli media dan materi, serta angket respon siswa. Instrumen ini diberikan kepada siswa kelas XI MAN 9 Jombang sebanyak 30 siswa. Hasil dari Penelitian dilihat dari uji validasi ahli desain media, ahli materi, dan angket respon siswa. Hasil dari uji validasi ahli media yang pertama dengan skor rata-rata 86%, yang kedua sebesar 84% dengan kategori sangat valid. Sedangkan hasil uji validasi ahli materi yang pertama dengan skor rata-rata sebesar 92%, yang kedua sebesar 87% dengan kriteria sangat valid, dan hasil dari uji penguna berupa angket respon siswa dengan skor rata-rata 80% dengan kriteria layak. Dengan demikian dilihat dari hasil uji penguna respon siswa terhadap media aplikasi Gerhana layak digunakan.
