Abstract

Ketebalan lemak subkutan paha ≥10,5 mm (OR 4,5, p = 0,041) dan dorsal ≥14,5 mm (OR 10,6, p = 0,003) juga menunjukkan hubungan signifikan.

Abstract

Insomnia is a sleep disorder that affects a person's quality of life, lowers daily performance, and is even associated with long-term health problems such as depression, anxiety, and heart problems. Nowadays, many individuals are looking for non-drug alternatives to overcome insomnia. One of the increasingly popular approaches is yoga and meditation. This study aims to find out the relationship between yoga practice and meditation on insomnia. A prospective cohort study in the population of DHSP Bali who experienced insomnia with an age range of 18–80 years during the period April to July 2025. The average age of the sample was 49.71 years (SD±12.95) (p = 0.084) with 16 males (57.1%) and 12 females (42.9%). The average ISI score before meditation and yoga was 15.21 (SD±4.55) (p = 0.090) and the ISI score after meditation and yoga was 12.14 (SD±4.56) (p = 0.067). There was an average mean difference of 3.071 points between the ISI scores before and after yoga and meditation practice for 3 consecutive months. An improvement in the average ISI score before and after intensive yoga and meditation practice twice every week for 3 months was shown to improve insomnia complaints. Regular yoga-meditation practice demonstrates statistically significant efficacy in reducing insomnia severity through mechanisms including parasympathetic activation, increased GABA levels, and positive neuroplastic changes in the prefrontal cortex and hippocampus, providing evidence-based support for integrative non-pharmacological insomnia management.

Abstract

The increase in the elderly population poses challenges to health services in Indonesia, particularly regarding degenerative diseases and malnutrition due to reduced physical activity and dietary changes. Supporting the Asta Cita program for elderly assistance, it is essential to monitor elderly health to maintain wellness and functionality in old age. This study used descriptive analytical observation on 25 women aged 55 to 75 years. Results showed that hemoglobin levels declined below the normal range of 12–15 g/dL. Serum iron levels and lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) enzyme activity were measured using a spectrophotometer to assess anemia potential, while immune status was evaluated through vitamin D levels by immunofluorescence. Statistical analysis with SPSS software using Spearman’s correlation test revealed no significant relationships between hemoglobin and serum iron (p = 0.520), hemoglobin and LDH (p = 0.615), or serum iron with LDH (p = 0.543) and vitamin D (p = 0.138). Pearson correlation showed no association between hemoglobin and vitamin D (p = 0.885). These findings indicate weak or no correlation among these parameters in this sample. Factors such as small sample size and measurement limitations suggest that using more precise biomarkers, like Ferritin levels, could improve future research. This study contributes to understanding Prevention of Iron Deficiency Anemia Through Blood Immunochemical Detection in Improving the Quality of Life of Elderly—a valuable approach to elderly health monitoring.

Abstract

The tradition of shalawat in the context of the Malay Islamic archipelago is a cultural phenomenon that is rich in semiotic meaning and plays a significant role in the religious expression and construction of the collective identity of the Muslim community. This research aims to analyze the semiotic elements contained in the Malay prayer tradition, explore the symbolism that reflects spiritual and cultural values, and examine the role of this tradition in strengthening Islamic identity in the archipelago. The research method used is a literature study with a qualitative descriptive approach, analyzing prayer texts such as Barzanji, Diba', and Marhaban through the framework of cultural semiotics. The results of the study show that the shalawat tradition contains three main categories of semiotic signs, namely linguistic, symbolic, and performative that interact with each other to form a complex spiritual and cultural communication system. The linguistic dimension features a harmonious acculturation of Arabic and Malay, the symbolic dimension through visual and audio elements creates the identity of the Malay Muslim community, while the performative dimension strengthens social solidarity through collective rituals. The symbolic meaning of prayer includes three dimensions, namely spiritual as an expression of love for the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), culture as the integration of local values with Islamic teachings, and social as a medium to strengthen community cohesion. The Malay shalawat tradition proves the flexibility of Islam Nusantara in accommodating local wisdom while maintaining the substance of religious teachings, creating an inclusive and contextual form of Islam.

Abstract

Dementia is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder characterized by a decline in cognitive function. Identifying the relationship between radiological characteristics and the level of cognitive impairment can help early detection and intervention planning. This study aims to describe the radiological characteristics and level of cognitive impairment in dementia patients at Prof. Dr. I.G.N.G Ngoerah Hospital during the period September 2023-September 2024. The method used was a retrospective descriptive study of 31 patients who had been diagnosed with dementia at the Neurobehaviour polyclinic. The level of cognitive impairment was categorized into mild, moderate, and severe based on the MoCA-Ina score. Radiological characteristics were assessed through Global Cortical Atrophy (GCA), Medial Temporal Atrophy (MTA), Fazekas, and Koedam scores. Results showed that MTA scores tended to increase with the severity of cognitive impairment, with the severe dementia group having an MTA score of 4 at 100%. This finding indicates that a high MTA score is associated with a more severe decline in cognitive function. The implication of this study is the importance of brain radiology examination in predicting the progression of dementia, so that early interventions can be made to slow cognitive decline.

Abstract

Environmental damage caused by carbon emissions is driving various countries to seek sustainable solutions, one of which is through electric vehicle (EV) innovation. Electric vehicles are considered capable of reducing dependence on fossil fuels and lowering greenhouse gas emissions. However, in Indonesia, the adoption rate of electric vehicles by the public is still considered low. This study aims to empirically examine the influence of factors in the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) and the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) on Indonesians' intention to adopt electric vehicles. The approach used is quantitative with a survey method, involving 311 respondents who have knowledge or interest in electric vehicles. Data was collected through online questionnaires and analyzed using SPSS through multiple linear regression analysis. The results indicate that only moral norms, knowledge, and ease of use have a positive and significant influence on the intention to adopt electric vehicles. In contrast, subjective norms, perceived behavioral control, usefulness, and risk show no significant effect, while environmental concern has a negative influence, contrary to the proposed hypothesis. These findings highlight that personal factors

Abstract

The increasing digitalisation of business has prompted companies to enhance the efficacy of their systems, even in the absence of physical meetings, with the aim of meeting customer needs and enhancing satisfaction. This encompasses telecommunications service systems. The MyICON+ initiative was conceived as a pioneering endeavour aimed at enhancing accessibility to information, streamlining account management processes, and facilitating enhanced customer engagement with the organisation. The research focuses on the transition of service systems from conventional methods (telephone, WhatsApp, email) to the MyICON+ digital platform, and its impact on customer communication patterns. The present research employs a constructivist and phenomenological paradigm, underpinned by new media theory and a qualitative research method, through in-depth interviews complemented by passive observation. The findings indicate a substantial shift in customer preference, with a notable transition from conventional services to faster and more integrated applications, exhibiting an average response time of 2–6 minutes. The integration of features such as live chat, real-time fault tracking, and billing notifications has been demonstrated to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction. Nevertheless, obstacles remain, including technical bugs during initial use, some customers' preference for call centres, and the need for further socialisation. Overall, MyICON+ has created a digital communication ecosystem that is dynamic, interactive, and user-friendly, while strengthening customer loyalty.

Abstract

The licensing process at the regional level is often convoluted, slow, and prone to information asymmetry. The digitalization initiative through the Online Single Submission Risk-Based Approach (OSS-RBA) in Lubuk Linggau City aims to simplify procedures and increase transparency. This study explores applicants’ and officials’ experiences with OSS-RBA, identifying factors that facilitate or hinder its implementation in local business licensing. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were gathered through semi-structured interviews with business actors of various scales and government officers, observations of service flows both at counters and online, and reviews of SOPs and related documents. Findings are presented narratively, highlighting categories and illustrative quotes. Respondents noted a clearer process flow, greater certainty about requirements, and easier tracking of application status through system notifications. Positive experiences were most common with low-risk licenses and among applicants familiar with OSS-RBA. New users expressed a need for initial guidance, detailed instructions, and accessible consultation channels. Key obstacles included digital literacy, network stability, inter-system connectivity, adaptation to new workflows, and SOP updates within local agencies. Stakeholders perceive OSS-RBA in Lubuk Linggau City as a more accessible, transparent, and consistent service. The results emphasize the need to improve communication about requirements, provide early support for new applicants, and enhance system integration to deliver a uniform user experience and sustain the benefits of digitalization.

Abstract

The increased global demand of herbal extracts has made PT Turmerica need to re-evaluate its current output capacity. This study aimed to evaluate the most feasible and profitable business solution to solve production capacity gap and meet  the market demand through a combination of technical and financial analyses. Using the TELOS framework and Decision Tree Analysis, three strategic alternatives have been evaluated for consideration: A1 is to invest in a new concentrator machine; A2 is outsourcing; and A3 is extending working hours. From production data from 2023-2025 and expected market growth rates, it can be seen that the current production capacity of 161,915 kg/year is insufficient to meet future demand; the gap to be bridged is estimated as exceeding 17% by 2027. The analysis found that the extractor machine was the main bottleneck in the extraction line, lowering throughput and increasing cleaning and maintenance time. A1 (investment in a new concentrator machine) is the most beneficial alternative, improving capacity by 35.1% as it speeds up extraction concentration, makes extract thickening unnecessary for the extractor, and prevents blockages. In contrast, both A2 (outsourcing) and A3 (additional working hours), have only raised capacity by 8.6% and 24.6% respectively with much higher operational risks and weaker long-term sustainability. Based on TELOS results, A1 offers the most feasible and profitable option based on decision tree analysis which produce higher cash flow.
