The term community service refers to activities that utilize relevant science and technology to advance the welfare of the community and educate the nations life. This journal publishes articles with topics such as theoretical innovations or methods or strategies for implementing community service activities, community service management innovations, university-community partnership strengthening programs, as well as other topics related to the impact and best practices in the implementation of community service to society. Praxis accepts article submissions from all over the world. All accepted articles will be published for payment of an article processing fee, and will be available free of charge to all readers with worldwide visibility and coverage. Praxis accepts article manuscripts with the following types Research Article: contains a quantitative, qualitative, or combination method study that shows the impact of community service projects on local communities, students, lecturers, or institutions. Reflective Essays contain sharp reflections on current issues or ideas related to community service based on literature. Projects with Prospects contains a description of the early stages of a community service project with an initial indication of its impact long-term evaluation plan a plan for how the project will remain sustainable; and best practices for readers to emulate. Book Reviews contains reviews of books related to community service which are more than just content descriptions, in order to analyze and extract their implications for theory and practice.

Abstract

This digital era presents both challenges and opportunities for youth organization such as Karang Taruna to enhace the effectiveness of communication and information dissemination through technology. This article documents a community service program aimed at assisting Karang Taruna by providing technology-based solution through the creation and training of website management. Using a participatory approach, this activity involved Karang Taruna members in all stages, including planning, design, development, and operational training. The reusult is a responsive website featuring key functionalities such as news, event agendas, photo galleries, and local tourism promotion. The website has proven to improve information delivery efficiency, expand community outreach, and support digital literacy among members. This program demonstrates that leveraging digital technology can serve as a catalyst for transforming community organizations toward more transparent, accounttable, and modern governance.

Abstract

The Employee Cooperative of PKPRI Surakarta still relies on a manual archiving system, which is considered ineffective and inefficient, particularly in terms of recording, storing, and retrieving documents. This condition highlights the need for innovation through the implementation of a web-based digital archiving system. This study aims to describe the urgency of implementing a digital archiving system to improve the quality of archive management within the cooperative. Several methods were used in this research, including data collection through interviews, observations, document studies, system requirements analysis, system development methods, and system testing methods. As a follow-up to the system development, the research team also conducted training sessions on the use of the archiving website for the cooperative’s internal staff. The implementation of the web-based digital archiving system is considered capable of providing easier access, enhanced data security, and faster archiving and retrieval processes, thereby improving the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the cooperative’s operations.

Abstract

Abstract: The problem of hypertension is a health challenge not only in Indonesia but almost throughout the world. The productive age group experienced an increase in the incidence of hypertension by 4.5% in the 15-24 year age group and 14.7% in the 25-34 year age group. The tendency to increase the prevalence of hypertension in the productive age group is caused by unhealthy lifestyles such as lack of physical activity, poor diet, smoking habits and drinking alcohol. One effort that can be made to control hypertension rates is to provide education from an early age about implementing a healthy lifestyle using the CERDIK method, especially in the adolescent age group. This activity aims to increase teenagers' knowledge about efforts to prevent hypertension in productive age. This community service method is by providing health education and measuring the level of knowledge before and after the education using questionnaires. The results of this activity were that before the counseling was given, 14 people (44%) had a poor level of knowledge, 10 people (31%) had a sufficient level of knowledge and 8 people (25%) had a good level of knowledge. After being given counseling, it was found that 24 people (75%) had a good level of knowledge, 8 people (25%) had a sufficient level of knowledge and no one had poor knowledge. Through outreach, it is hoped that knowledge can be increased so that it can change attitudes and behavior for the better in an effort to prevent the incidence of hypertension in the productive age. Abstract

Stunting is a pressing public health issue in developing countries. This community service activity was conducted in Sitirejo Village, Blora Regency, Central Java Province. The program was carried out as part of the Integrated Community Service for Religious Moderation Competency (KKN-IKMB) with the theme "My Plate with Nutritious Food" to raise community awareness about stunting prevention. The activities were implemented through interactive community education, animated song and video screenings, simulations, and nutritious food processing using local resources. The program involved the village midwife, posyandu cadres, and local residents, and was held at the residence of a village official. The program was deemed effective in enhancing the community's understanding of balanced nutrition and the utilization of local potential. Educational media, such as songs and animated videos, successfully captured attention and improved participants' knowledge. Additionally, mothers, particularly those with young children, were able to understand and practice preparing nutritious meals to support optimal child development. The results indicate that community-based education integrated with advances in information technology can serve as an effective strategy to help reduce the prevalence of stunting at the village level. The utilization of local resources also presents opportunities for further development, ensuring that nutritional needs can be met more easily and affordably.

Abstract

Permasalahan psikologis pada siswa, berupa kecemasan, depresi dan bullying yang dapat menunjukkan suatu fenomena terkini di Indonesia sehingga diperlukan deteksi dini secara efektif. Guru bimbingan dan konseling (BK) memiliki peran strategis dalam mengidentifikasi masalah tersebut, namun terdapat kendala berupa keterampilan dan pemahaman teknologi. Kegiatan PKM ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan, pemahaman, dan keterampilan guru BK dalam memanfaatkan deep learning sebagai mendeteksi masalah psikologis siswa. Metode pelaksanaan PKM, berupa tahap perencanaan (pemetaan masalah dan menentukan mitra), pelaksanaan (pelatihan, workshop, dan workshop), dan evaluasi. Peserta sejumlah 50 guru BK dari anggota dan ketua MGBK SMA Kabupaten Wonogiri. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan 94,25% peserta menilai bahwa materi sangat sesuai dengan kebutuhan yang diindikasikan oleh peningkatan akan pemahaman terhadap konsep, manfaat, dan penerapan deep learning dalam layanan BK. Peserta menunjukkan keterbukaan terhadap suatu integrasi teknologi dalam mendukung deteksi dini masalah psikologis. Hasil kegiatan PKM membuktikan bahwa pelatihan deep learning bermanfaat dalam meningkatkan kapasitas guru BK sehingga layanan BK tepat sasaran, dan akurat. Implementasi teknologi tersebut penting untuk memperkuat fungsi preventif layanan BK dan mendukung kesejahteraan psikologis siswa di masa era digital.

Abstract

Bank Sampah Ciherang Tunas Mulia menghadapi berbagai tantangan dalam pengelolaan sampah, baik dari sisi sosial kemasyarakatan, manajemen, maupun fasilitas pendukung. Saat ini, kegiatan bank sampah masih terbatas pada pengumpulan dan penjualan sampah anorganik kepada pengepul tanpa proses pengolahan lebih lanjut. Hal ini menyebabkan ketergantungan terhadap harga pasar yang fluktuatif dan berdampak pada pendapatan yang tidak stabil. Selain itu, keterbatasan keterampilan pengurus dalam mengolah sampah menjadi produk bernilai jual, lemahnya kemampuan digital marketing, serta pencatatan transaksi dan keuangan secara manual menambah kompleksitas masalah. Solusi yang ditawarkan meliputi pelatihan keterampilan teknis seperti pembuatan kerajinan dari sampah plastik, pupuk organik cair, dan ecobrick, serta pelatihan digital marketing dan pengemasan produk. Dari sisi teknologi, akan dikembangkan sistem informasi berbasis website yang terintegrasi untuk pencatatan transaksi tabungan dan pengelolaan keuangan, serta e-commerce untuk mendukung pemasaran produk hasil olahan. Di bidang fasilitas, bantuan berupa timbangan digital dan peralatan pengolahan sampah organik akan diberikan guna meningkatkan efisiensi operasional. Pendekatan yang digunakan mencakup sosialisasi, pelatihan, penerapan teknologi tepat guna, serta pendampingan dan evaluasi berkelanjutan untuk memastikan keberhasilan dan keberlanjutan program. Dengan pelaksanaan program ini, diharapkan Bank Sampah Ciherang Tunas Mulia dapat meningkatkan kapasitas produksi, efisiensi manajemen, serta memperluas pasar produk hasil olahan sampah, sehingga mendukung penguatan ekonomi sirkular dan kemandirian masyarakat secara berkelanjutan

Abstract

Plastic waste presents a highly serious problem due to its extensive contribution to environmental pollution. According to data obtained from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK), the state of waste management in Indonesia in 2023 shows alarming figures, with total waste reaching 68.5 million tons. Of this amount, approximately 17%, or around 11.6 million tons, is plastic waste. This reflects the difficulty in designing and implementing effective policies to manage and reduce the volume of waste generated nationwide. The low recycling rate is a key concern, with only 7% of the total waste entering Final Disposal Sites (TPA) successfully recycled. Field findings indicate that the volume of waste transported over the past three years, from 2020 to 2024, has increased annually. In 2024, it even rose from the previous year, increasing from 280,859 m³ to 300,566 m³. This data is further supported by the fact that the proportion of plastic waste is also significantly higher compared to other types of waste, standing at around 19%, whereas other waste categories are only in the range of 4–10%. In addition, based on data from the local Environmental Agency, West Ungaran District, with its daily activities, generates up to 500 m³ of waste per day, a figure far higher than Ambarawa District, which produces only 217 m³ per day. Survey results also show that public knowledge about eco-crafts remains low, at only 84.2%. In response to this situation, outreach activities and skills development in the utilization of plastic waste should become the main focus to address the problem. The approach of lectures, practical sessions, mentoring, monitoring, and evaluation is considered appropriate for designing training to address the issues in Nyatnyono, West Ungaran. The community service activity proceeded according to plan, and evaluation results indicated an improvement in the knowledge and skills of the participants. The follow-up for the next community service program will include training on branding, marketing, and selling.

Abstract

Keterampilan membaca kritis dan menulis argumentatif merupakan kompetensi penting yang perlu dimiliki siswa untuk menghadapi tantangan era teknologi, namun kenyataannya banyak siswa yang masih kesulitan memahami teks secara mendalam dan menyusun argumen secara logis. Kegiatan pendampingan belajar jurnalistik ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca kritis dan menulis argumentatif siswa SMA Trensains Tebuireng melalui pendekatan praktik jurnalistik. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendampingan berbasis proyek dengan langkah-langkah meliputi identifikasi isu, analisis informasi, penyusunan naskah, dan publikasi karya. Kegiatan dilaksanakan dengan  melibatkan  siswa-siswi dipilih  secara  purposive. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, tes keterampilan, dan analisis produk tulisan siswa, kemudian dianalisis secara deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil pendampingan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kemampuan siswa dalam mengidentifikasi informasi relevan, mengevaluasi sumber, serta menyusun argumen dengan struktur yang jelas dan didukung bukti yang memadai. Selain itu, siswa menjadi lebih kritis terhadap informasi yang mereka terima dan lebih percaya diri dalam menyampaikan opini secara tertulis. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa pendampingan belajar berbasis jurnalistik efektif sebagai sarana pengembangan keterampilan literasi kritis dan argumentatif siswa.

Abstract

Program Kemitraan Masyarakat (PKM) ini dilaksanakan di UMKM F Kreasi Tasikmalaya dengan tujuan untuk mengatasi permasalahan pada aspek pemasaran dan manajemen usaha. Mitra sebelumnya masih mengandalkan strategi pemasaran tradisional, belum optimal memanfaatkan media digital, serta menghadapi kendala dalam pencatatan transaksi, pengelolaan keuangan, dan desain kemasan produk. Untuk menjawab permasalahan tersebut, kegiatan dilakukan melalui beberapa tahapan, yaitu analisis situasi, persiapan transfer teknologi tepat guna, pelatihan, simulasi, pendampingan, serta monitoring dan evaluasi. Solusi yang ditawarkan meliputi pelatihan digital marketing, pembuatan website, pengelolaan media sosial dan e-commerce, pelatihan manajemen usaha, pencatatan keuangan sederhana, desain kemasan berbasis barcode menggunakan Photoshop, serta pelatihan foto produk. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan pada pengetahuan dan keterampilan mitra, terutama dalam pemanfaatan digital marketing, manajemen usaha, serta desain dan foto produk yang lebih menarik. Mayoritas peserta memberikan respon positif terhadap kegiatan ini, meskipun pada beberapa aspek seperti pengelolaan website dan pembuatan barcode masih dibutuhkan pendampingan lanjutan. Secara keseluruhan, kegiatan PKM ini terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan kapasitas UMKM F Kreasi Tasikmalaya, sehingga mampu memperluas jangkauan pemasaran, memperbaiki sistem manajemen usaha, serta meningkatkan daya saing produk baik di pasar lokal maupun digital.

Abstract

Kegiatan admistrasi di Lembaga Pendidikan anak usia dini seringkali masih dilakukan secara manual, sehingga memerlukan waktu lama dalam pengelolaan dan visualisasi data, serta rentan kesalahan. Hal ini terjadi pada TK ABA I Imogiri, TK AB II Imogiri, TK ABA III Karang Tengah, dan TK ABA IV Imogiri.   Keterbatasan jumlah sumber daya manusia dan tuntutan administrasi yang tinggi, dan masih minimnya kemampuan sumber daya manusia yang ada, dalam hal ini Guru, dalam memanfaatkan teknologi  menjadi kendala. Pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan meningkatkan kapasitas guru melalui pelatihan penggunaan Microsoft Excel dalam pengolahan data administrasi sekolah. Metode kegiatan meliputi persiapan, pelaksanaan pelatihan Excel dasar, pendampingan, serta evaluasi. Peserta pelatihan adalah 30 guru tetap dan pendamping kegiatan di masing-masing sekolah. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan pada keterampilan guru, di mana rata-rata nilai pre-test sebesar 45,7% meningkat menjadi 82,3% pada post-test sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa kegiatan ini terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan efisiensi kerja guru.
