The term community service refers to activities that utilize relevant science and technology to advance the welfare of the community and educate the nations life. This journal publishes articles with topics such as theoretical innovations or methods or strategies for implementing community service activities, community service management innovations, university-community partnership strengthening programs, as well as other topics related to the impact and best practices in the implementation of community service to society. Praxis accepts article submissions from all over the world. All accepted articles will be published for payment of an article processing fee, and will be available free of charge to all readers with worldwide visibility and coverage. Praxis accepts article manuscripts with the following types Research Article: contains a quantitative, qualitative, or combination method study that shows the impact of community service projects on local communities, students, lecturers, or institutions. Reflective Essays contain sharp reflections on current issues or ideas related to community service based on literature. Projects with Prospects contains a description of the early stages of a community service project with an initial indication of its impact long-term evaluation plan a plan for how the project will remain sustainable; and best practices for readers to emulate. Book Reviews contains reviews of books related to community service which are more than just content descriptions, in order to analyze and extract their implications for theory and practice.

Abstract

Kewirausahaan merupakan salah satu faktor penting dalam meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat. Keterampilan dan jiwa wirausaha menjadi komponen penting yang harus dimiliki oleh setiap individu terutama dalam menghadapi era globalisasi. Globalisasi membawa perubahan yang cepat dalam cara berbisnis, sehingga memerlukan adaptasi dan inovasi dari setiap individu, termasuk Ibu-Ibu PKK. Pelaksanaan Workshop Gelang Manik-Manik yang ditujukan untuk Ibu-Ibu PKK di Desa Kadirejo, Kecamatan Karanganom, Kabupaten Klaten. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk menumbuhkan semangat berwirausaha dan mendorong pemberdayaan perempuan dengan memberikan mereka keterampilan. Melalui workshop ini, peserta dilatih untuk membuat gelang dari manik-manik dan tali giok, yang diharapkan mengembangkan keterampilan kewirausahaan dan menjadikan Ibu-Ibu PKK dapat menjadi lebih unggul dalam menciptakan produk yang memiliki nilai jual serta dapat berkontribusi pada peningkatan ekonomi.

Abstract

Cooperatives are an important role in driving the economy of the community to encourage economic growth. For this reason, this service aims to find out the results of the role of Islamic cooperatives in improving the economic aspects of the Ardirejo community. The method used is through a qualitative descriptive approach and educational studies. The results of the service activities show that Bumi Meranti Wangi Sharia Cooperative located in Ardirejo provides many benefits and opportunities for members in providing financial support through savings and loan activities. Educational studies that refer to the 2019 Subandi Cooperative Economics theory are matched with the results carried out at the Cooperative. So that the achievements of the service activities at this cooperative institution show that the Bumi Meranti Wangi Sharia Cooperative provides convenience for the community in conducting financing based on Islamic law by maintaining the quality of the services provided.

Abstract

Instant preparation of dragon fruit peel is an instant powder drink that comes from dragon fruit peel. Dragon fruit peel contains antiocyanin, vitamin C, vitamin E, vitamin A, alkaloids, terpenoids, flavonoids, thiamine, niacin, pyridoxine, cobalamin, phenolics, carotene and phytoalbumin which has function as antioxidants. The process of making instant dragon fruit peel powder drink preparations starts from the juice from the juice of dragon fruit peel which is cooked with sugar and low heat while stirring continuously to avoid caramelization. After drying and turning into powder, it is sieved and dried in an oven and then packaged to become the final instant product. Serve by dissolving 2 tablespoons of instant powder, then brewing it with 200ml hot water, then drinking it 2x a day for health maintenance and as an antioxidant. The community in Tawangsari Village is empowered to make and use dragon fruit peels into instant powder preparations so that they can utilize this waste into health products with economic value. They are also able to use the final product for their own consumption as a form of personal health maintenance.

Abstract

Lumajang Regency, East Java, has significant natural tourism potential, including Kabut Pelangi Waterfall in Sidomulyo Village. However, this destination is not yet widely known. This study aims to enhance the visibility of Kabut Pelangi Waterfall through social media platforms such as YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok. Using descriptive and qualitative methods along with the Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) approach, data were collected through observations, interviews, and content analysis of social media. The research findings indicate that social media is effective in promoting this destination, as evidenced by positive responses and increased public interest. With the right marketing strategy, Kabut Pelangi Waterfall can attract more visitors, support the local economy, and serve as an example for the development of other tourist attractions in Lumajang.

Abstract

Tajweed science is a very important knowledge to have for a child from an early age so that he can recite properly and correctly in accordance with the rules of tajweed science. However, in Cogrek Village, Ciseeng District, Bogor Regency, children still lack the correct application of tajweed in reading the Qur'an. This service activity aims to teach how to read the Qur'an well and correctly with the science of tajweed to children at the Ta'lim Nur Hidayah Assembly, Cogrek Village, Ciseeng District. The method used in this activity is a lecture, where children are given an understanding of the science of tajweed in learning to read the Qur'an. This activity will be carried out from the end of Maghrib until Isha on June 28, 2024. Based on the results of the assessment, there was a significant increase in the understanding of tajweed, especially in Mad law, in children who recited at the Ta'lim Nur Hidayah Assembly. This increase was seen by comparing the children's abilities at the week of.

Abstract

Pest and disease control carried out by most farmers is by using chemical pesticides, so an alternative pest and disease control method that is more environmentally friendly is needed, such as botanical pesticides. Botanical pesticides are pesticides that come from plants, namely papaya leaves, which are relatively easy to make and easy to decompose. The aim of this outreach is through Real Work Lectures (KKN) to provide an understanding of the importance of using botanical pesticides to control pests and explain the steps for making papaya leaf botanical pesticides. The methods used in this activity are observation, presentation of material, and making botanical pesticides. The results of the outreach activities on plant pesticides were carried out to provide understanding and insight regarding the use of natural plants as pesticides to farmers.

Abstract

Living pharmacies focus on the use of medicinal plants and spices that can be grown at home or in the surrounding environment to support the health and welfare of the community. Medicinal plants have long been used as traditional medicine in various cultures around the world. Living pharmacies are emerging as an attractive option with increasing interest in holistic health and sustainability. Many medicinal plants contain bioactive compounds that have medical benefits such as anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and antimicrobial. This research uses a participatory approach with the following steps: (1) Needs assessment through observations and interviews with local communities, (2) Implementation of training and workshops regarding medicinal plant cultivation techniques and the health benefits of plants, (3) Making living pharmacies by planting various medicinal plants in several home yards, gardens, parks, and (4) Monitoring and evaluating the impact of training and implementation of living pharmacies. Participants showed increased knowledge regarding the benefits of medicinal plants and the ability to cultivate and utilize these plants. People are starting to use medicinal plants for their daily health needs.

Abstract

Early marriage is defined as an anomaly that continues to occur and is increasingly widespread, Lack of understanding about young marriage makes children experience deep wounds. (Darmawan, 2021). The implementation of GEBRAK (wise marriage brake movement) was carried out in two places. The first place is in the village hall and the second is at SMPN 6 Tanggul. This research is qualitative research. From the results presented, several steps to overcome early marriage have been taken not only from the KUA and village officials but also several students who are having duty obligations in this Kramat village. Forms of Student Implementation to Overcome Early Marriage We are required to provide solutions to reduce various existing problems. Someday the knowledge taught when in someone else's village can be brought, moreover it can be implemented into the village of his birth. Based on the survey results, it was found that early marriage is caused by internal & external factors. Through discussions in the “GEBRAK” socialization, it is hoped that it can reduce the number of early marriages in Jember Regency, especially in Kramat Sukoharjo Village.

Abstract

Organic waste is one of the most common types of waste produced by households. Statistical data shows that households have been named the main source of the highest waste. Households contribute 39.82% of total waste in Indonesia. Vegetable peels, fruit peels, used cooking oil, etc. are examples of organic waste, but most people don't care about the benefits of this organic waste. Household organic waste can be used to make environmentally friendly enzymes. One of the environmentally friendly enzymes that is useful is ecoenzyme which not only it has many benefits, making ecoenzymes also means taking part in protecting the environment. Ecoenzymes are useful because they are environmentally friendly products that contain anti-fungal, anti-bacterial, insecticidal agents and cleaning agents. Apart from organic waste such as vegetable peels or fruit peels, there is another household organic waste that needs attention, that was used cooking oil. If used cooking oil can be handled properly, it can be used as an ingredient to making a product, one of the product is aromatherapy candles. The partners of this activity are the people of Kampung Ingas, Karangturi, Semarang. The activity method was carried out in three stages: product socialization, ecoenzymes and aromatherapy candles training, and finally product marketing. The output of this activity produces skills to process household waste into simple products that have economic value, which is making ecoenzymes and aromatherapy candles.

Abstract

The majority of the people of kutorembet village make a living as a livestock breeders and farmers. The problem in the livestock system in this village is that there are still many livestock breeders who only use wild grass as animal feed every day without knowing the nutrition of the feed. Therefore, the co0mmunity servuce team introduced one alternative feed to increase its storage capacity and nutritional content, namelyby utilizing coffee skin waste which is processed into fermented animal feed is one of the smart steps to overcome the shortage of food reserves for livestock during the dry season. The training was conducted at the Kutorembet Village Hall located in Dukuh Krajan. The stages of implementation in this study are observation, socialization and training. To implement this program, the community service team prepared equipment and voordinated with the Pekalongan Regency Food Security and Agriculuture Service. This training began wisth counseling with the food security and agricultureservice, then carried out joint practice of making fermented feed from coffee skin waste. The results of fermented coffee skin waste have good quality, seen from several mixed ingredients such as grass that dose not change color, the aroma is not rotten (typical of silage), the texture is not soft (dry), and is not moldy.
