Abstract

Socialization is one of the means that greatly influences a person's personality. Socialization is also commonly referred to as role theory. Because in the process of socialization, the roles that must be played by each individual are taught. Parenting or the process of educating children today (parenting patterns) is very important, therefore parenting must be instilled early on by some parents to their children. Because after all, this parenting pattern has a very important role for children and for the future of children. Parenting itself means the way or pattern of parenting parents to their children to shape the personality of the child, and at the same time to know the interests and talents of children as early as possible so that parents can adjust to the level of education that suits their child's wishes. Good parenting is one powerful way to find out a child's character. This activity is one of the devotion of knowledge that I can do in the series of KKN PPM processes. Carrying out activities that can benefit children and socializing how parents can best raise children in Karangtumaritis Village, this activity is the main goal in every program we implement. The Community Service Activity of Real Work Lecture in Karangtumaritis Village took place in July 2024 - August 2024 with the theme of parenting and stunting. This study uses the pretest-posttest method which is a type of quasi-experimental research. This study tests initial knowledge before being given an intervention or material, namely in the form of a pretest and after the intervention was given, a posttest was given. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of knowledge of participants before and after the intervention and to find out more accurate results related to the effectiveness of the success of the counseling. This study uses a health promotion intervention, namely a lecture method using power point media and questions and answers. Health promotion includes material related to parenting patterns to increase children's learning motivation with a duration of 1 x 30 minutes with 1 presentation. The success of this program is seen in terms of the responsiveness of PKK mothers and also the understanding of the material about the importance of good parenting. Many parents are enthusiastic and concerned after being educated about parenting materials, the implementation of the materials is then practiced by distributing questionnaires to parents who are able to practice and train souls with noble morals.

Abstract

The work of each head of family in the Anjatan Baru Village community includes farming, entrepreneurship, livestock farming, civil servants, and others. Activities between residents and early childhood are quite good. Because of the large number of residents, the amount of household waste produced is also increasing. However, this is due to the lack of awareness of residents to dispose of waste in its place and manage the waste properly. Most residents still litter, especially in the drainage area which should be a water drainage channel, and residents still bury waste in the ground or burn it which may have a negative effect on the surrounding life. This problem causes clogged drainage channels, which has the potential to cause flooding, especially during the rainy season. Therefore, this program aims to increase public awareness of the importance of environmental cleanliness and good drainage maintenance. Activities carried out in this program include counseling, environmental cleaning, and procurement of trash bins. Counseling aims to provide information to the public about the right way to manage waste and the importance of maintaining environmental cleanliness. In addition, environmental cleaning is carried out to reduce the amount of scattered waste and improve the condition of existing drainage. The provision of trash bins is expected to make it easier for the community to dispose of trash in its place, thereby reducing the possibility of blockages in the drainage channels. The approach used in this supporting program is a qualitative approach in the form of surveys and observations. This is done to directly find out the condition of the cleanliness of the drainage channels and the environment around Anjatan Baru Village and to find out the drainage channel maintenance activities carried out by residents. Based on the analysis of the situation in Anjatan Baru Village. So we propose one of the supporting programs for the Real Work Lecture (KKN) activity in the form of drainage maintenance and procurement of trash bins. In addition to inviting the community to work together to clean the surrounding environment and drainage channels, this activity also provides counseling to the community that sediment and garbage that clogs drainage channels can cause water flow to be blocked so that it can cause flooding. With this drainage maintenance program and procurement of trash bins, it is hoped that the community will realize the importance of good drainage conditions and clean environmental conditions so that flooding can be avoided. The target of this program is the community of Anjatan Baru Village, especially people whose drainage conditions are blocked by garbage. The output target to be achieved in addition to compiling activity reports is to increase public awareness of the importance of a clean environment and cleaner drainage conditions that are not clogged with garbage. After this activity is completed, an evaluation will be carried out regarding the obstacles encountered during the implementation of the activity and how residents responded to the activity. Because this activity is carried out once, the evaluation of the implementation of the activity can be used as a learning experience so that obstacles during the first stage of the activity can be minimized in the second activity. The level of success of this activity itself is based on the condition of the environment and drainage channels before and after the implementation of the activity.

Abstract

Natural Science (IPA) is an important learning in elementary schools. IPA is knowledge related to natural phenomena, not only a collection of facts and concepts, but also about how to work, how to think, and how to solve problems. Natural science is also interpreted as knowledge about nature obtained based on human experience due to interaction with its environment. Problems that often arise in learning the content of IPA material include the lack of availability of learning media, teaching and learning activities using more lecture methods, students' attention is less focused on the provision of material by the teacher. To realize meaningful IPA learning, learning media are needed. Learning media are all tools that can be used to achieve educational goals. Learning media have a very important function in learning activities, both for teachers and students. Learning media will make learning more interesting, can provide meaningful learning experiences, activate and please children and the existence of learning media will provide motivation in the learning process. Examples of learning media that can be applied to science learning are learning media that utilize used goods. Learning media from used goods is an interesting and creative alternative to make the teaching and learning process more effective and enjoyable. by using items available in the surrounding environment, especially used goods such as cardboard, bottled drinking water, paper, straws, etc. In addition, the use of used goods can also help foster a sense of love for the environment in children. Learning media from used goods can make the teaching and learning process more interesting and enjoyable, so that it can increase children's interest in learning. Utilizing used goods to make learning media can help develop children's creativity. Playing with learning media from used goods can help train children's motor skills. Utilizing used goods to make learning media can help foster a sense of love for the environment in children. Abstract

Climate change and environmental degradation are increasingly urgent global issues to address. Global warming, air pollution, deforestation, and various other forms of environmental damage threaten the sustainability of life on earth. In facing these challenges, education plays a key role in shaping pro-environmental awareness and behavior among the younger generation. Schools as educational institutions have a great responsibility in instilling environmental values in students. One relevant initiative in the context of environmental education is the "Eco School Project." This program aims to create an environmentally friendly school garden, which not only functions as a green space, but also as a means of education for students. Through this program, students are invited to be directly involved in environmental conservation efforts, so that they can understand the importance of preserving nature and implementing environmentally friendly behavior in everyday life. To maintain environmental sustainability, wise management must be carried out. This condition requires an increase in environmental awareness among the community, especially the younger generation. The "Eco School Project" is expected to be an effective environmental education model that can be implemented in various schools throughout Indonesia. On the other hand, schools often lack adequate green space, even though the presence of parks or gardens in the school environment has many benefits. School gardens can function as living laboratories for students to learn about ecosystems, plant life cycles, and the importance of water and soil conservation. In addition, the presence of green space in schools can also improve air quality, reduce air temperatures around the school, and create a healthier and more enjoyable learning environment. Realizing an environmentally friendly school garden through the "Eco School Project" requires collaboration between the school, students, parents, and the surrounding community. The involvement of these various parties not only increases the sense of ownership of the program, but also ensures the sustainability and success of this initiative. Support from the government and various environmental organizations is also very important in providing the necessary resources and technical guidance. As part of the program implementation, schools can hold various activities such as tree planting, creating organic gardens, 3R-based waste management (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle), and installing rainwater treatment systems. These activities not only provide practical experience to students, but also create a real positive impact on the school environment. Overall, the "Eco School Project" is a strategic step in increasing awareness and pro-environmental behavior among students. Through this program, it is hoped that a generation can be created that is more concerned and responsible for environmental sustainability, so that a greener and more sustainable future for the earth can be realized.

Abstract

This study examines the socio-economic conditions of students admitted to the Department of Political Science at Rajshahi University for the academic year 2023-24. Using a combination of secondary literature and primary data, the research investigates key socio-economic factors influencing students' aspirations, including family income, which is 44% (below 10,000 per month), parental education (only 34% completed secondary education), regional disparities, and gender representation. Our findings show that most of the students admitted into the university are from the grassroots area of the village. We also found gender disparities, though narrowing, persist due to socio-cultural barriers, while students from rural areas (82%) remain demotivated due to infrastructural and resource constraints. By observing these trends within the broader context of Bangladesh's higher education landscape, the study underscores the need for targeted policy interventions to ensure greater equity and inclusivity in higher education in Bangladesh. The analysis provides a nuanced understanding and recommendations of how socio-economic dynamics interact with educational aspirations and institutional practices, offering valuable insights for educators, policymakers, and researchers.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play a vital role in the Indonesian economy, yet many still face challenges in adopting digital technology, particularly in services and marketing. Brangkal Printing, one of the MSMEs in Pandanlandung Village, demonstrated limitations in its customer service system and digital marketing strategy, impacting market reach and service efficiency. This community service activity aimed to improve Brangkal Printing's digital capacity through training in digital ordering systems, Google Drive-based catalog management, and strengthening social media marketing based on the principles of The Seven Laws of Digital Marketing. Implementation methods included problem identification, technical training, customer education, Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), and impact evaluation. The results of the activity showed a significant improvement in the owner's and staff's ability to manage digital services, as well as an increase in the number of orders through online platforms. The digital catalog system also helps consumers select products without having to visit the business location in person. The main recommendation from this activity is the need for continued mentoring and consistency in implementing digital strategies so that MSMEs can transform sustainably in the digital economy era.
