Abstract

This study aims to determine the application of the role-playing method in increasing the self-confidence of early childhood at RA Nurul Hikmah Lenteng. The background of this study is the low courage of children to appear and actively participate in learning activities. Children tend to be passive, reluctant to speak in front of friends, and depend on friends in group activities. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The subjects in this study were children in group B (aged 5–6 years) who participated in role-playing activities for six meetings. The results of the study showed that the role-playing method was able to increase children's self-confidence, which was marked by the courage to appear, the ability to express opinions, and active involvement in the group. Children also began to show initiative and the ability to interact socially more independently. Thus, the role-playing method can be used as an alternative effective learning strategy in developing the social-emotional aspects of early childhood, especially in building self-confidence from an early age.

Abstract

Pancasila serves as a guideline for life for early childhood, especially in the context of patriotism and the values it upholds. In order to grow and develop, children need to be nurtured through habituation, independence, good manners, innovation, agility, hard work, and a sense of responsibility. Education based on Pancasila in daily activities can have a positive impact on early childhood, encouraging them to obey and internalize the values contained in Pancasila, which hold profound meaning for everyday life. This study uses a storytelling method and adopts a qualitative research type. Data collection is carried out in a specific area with a high level of accuracy in describing the phenomena that occur. The researcher will describe how the principles of Pancasila are implemented in the school activities of TK Miftahul Ulum Al-Amin Terrak, Tlanakan, Pamekasan, using the storytelling method. The research includes observation, documentation, and interview transcripts. Based on the observations conducted, in the implementation of a learning strategy based on the values of Pancasila in the context of patriotism using the storytelling method with the indicator of recognizing and understanding national symbols, the results show that 10 early childhood students understood these symbols, while 5 children had limited understanding of national symbols, the national anthem, and the meaning of Pancasila. Based on the research proposal entitled “The Implementation of Pancasila Values in the Context of Patriotism Using the Storytelling Method in TK B Class at Miftahul Ulum Al-Amin Terrak, Tlanakan, Pamekasan”, it can be concluded that character education based on Pancasila values is very important to instill from an early age. This indicates that education based on Pancasila values can create an inclusive and harmonious learning environment, enabling young children to easily understand and grasp these values.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of Non-Formal Education (NFE) in enhancing life skills among early childhood. The background is based on the importance of developing life skills as essential preparation for children to face future life challenges, while the formal education system has not been able to optimally meet these needs. The research method used is a literature review, involving the collection and analysis of various relevant sources such as books, journals, papers, and official documents. The findings indicate that NFE significantly contributes to the development of practical, social, emotional, and cognitive aspects of children through innovative learning approaches, hands-on experiences, and participatory methods. Through flexible and contextual programs and activities, NFE complements the strengths of formal education and supports the holistic growth and development of children. Therefore, collaboration among various stakeholders, including the government, educational institutions, families, and communities, is necessary to optimize the role of NFE in fostering life skills in early childhood. Thus, NFE can serve as an effective alternative in supporting character education and preparing children for a dynamic future.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the early reading skills of children aged 4–5 years through the use of picture cards in Raudhatus Sholihin Early Childhood Education (PAUD). The method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that the application of picture cards can make it easier for children to recognize letters and vocabulary in a more interesting and appropriate way for children. This media successfully fosters interest in learning, makes the learning process more interactive, and helps children understand reading by associating letter symbols with images. In addition, teachers can also be more creative in designing fun learning activities so that the classroom atmosphere becomes more lively. Thus, the use of picture cards has proven effective as an alternative method for early reading learning in PAUD institutions, especially to support children's language development at an early age.

Abstract

This study focuses on the implementation of Islamic Religious Education assessment by teachers in fostering students’ spirituality at MTs Al-Atiqiyah. The issue arises from the tendency to emphasize cognitive aspects while neglecting systematic evaluation of affective and spiritual dimensions. The aim of this research is to describe how assessment is implemented to shape students’ religious character, identify supporting and inhibiting factors, and observe the impact of such assessment on students’ spiritual development. This study employed a qualitative approach with a case study method, involving two Islamic education teachers and two students as the main subjects. Data were collected through interviews, participatory observations, and documentation. The results show that spiritual assessment is conducted through daily worship routines, attitude monitoring, and supervision of religious activities. Supporting factors include the school’s religious environment and teacher engagement, while obstacles involve time constraints and limited resources. The conclusion indicates that consistent and contextual spiritual assessment contributes significantly to the development of students’ religious character. The implication is that teachers need continuous training to design holistic and value-integrated assessment strategies aligned with Islamic principles.
