Abstract

This study investigates the influence of Zakat, Infaq, and Sadaqah (ZIS), education, health, and entrepreneurship on poverty alleviation in Indonesia, particularly in supporting the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal 1 (No Poverty). A quantitative approach was employed using secondary data from the National Amil Zakat Agency of the Republic of Indonesia (BAZNAS RI) and the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) for the 2021–2024 period. The data were analyzed through multiple linear regression with a panel data model. The results indicate that ZIS acceptance has a significant negative relationship with poverty levels, implying that higher ZIS collection and distribution can effectively contribute to poverty reduction. Meanwhile, school participation rates as an indicator of educational attainment show no significant impact on poverty reduction, suggesting that improvements in education quality and relevance are still needed to enhance its economic effect. Life expectancy, representing health indicators, demonstrates a significant negative influence, highlighting the essential role of better healthcare access and quality in reducing poverty. On the other hand, entrepreneurship, measured by the number of Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs), exhibits a significant positive relationship with poverty, which may reflect challenges such as limited access to financing, low business literacy, and weak competitiveness among small entrepreneurs. These findings emphasize the importance of strengthening ZIS management, enhancing health services, and adopting sustainable strategies in education and entrepreneurship development. This study provides important insights for policymakers, zakat institutions, and communities in formulating effective strategies to accelerate poverty alleviation and achieve Sustainable Development Goal 1 in Indonesia.

Abstract

The Qur'an, as the word of God, serves various purposes in life, including healing diseases (syifa). As-syifā' in the Qur'an describes the function of the Qur'an as a healer for diseases, both physical and spiritual. Asy-Syifā' in the perspective of M. Quraish Shihab's interpretation of al-Mishbah emphasizes that the healing referred to in the Qur'an is not only spiritual and moral in nature, but also includes the physical dimension. Quraish Shihab also highlights that healing does not come solely from God but must also be accompanied by human effort. The Qur'an, Surah An-Nahl, verse 69, Quraish Shihab, through the interpretation of Al-Misbah, bees and honey as symbols of moral and social examples, where honey is a healing gift, and bees are an image of creatures that are obedient, productive, and provide benefits to all. This study uses a literature review approach (library research), namely examining various academic sources such as books, scientific journals, research reports, and official documents relevant to Asy-Syifā’ in the Qur’an: Analysis of Surah An-Nahl Verse 69 from the Perspective of Al-Misbah's Interpretation. The purpose of this study is to examine honey as a treatment for physical ailments in Surah An-Nahl Verse 69

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to improve the assertiveness skills of early childhood children through the application of role-playing methods in the Al-Hidayah Playgroup (KB). Through role-playing activities designed with themes close to the children's experiences, it is hoped that children can be more confident in communicating and demonstrating assertive behavior appropriate to their developmental stages. The research method used in this study is Classroom Action Research (CAR). This research was conducted in two cycles, where each cycle consists of four stages, namely planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. Based on the results of the research in the two learning cycles, there was a significant increase in the development of children's assertiveness skills in KB Al-Hidayah. In the first cycle, although the role-playing activity with the theme "My Choice Today" had been implemented with careful planning, most children still had difficulty in expressing their opinions, feelings, and desires openly and politely. Only 26.67% of children were in the Developing According to Expectations (BSH) category, while the majority were still in the Starting to Develop and Not Yet Developing categories. In the second cycle, children demonstrated better assertiveness development through an improved approach using the theme "I Like, I Don't Like" which places more emphasis on expressing personal feelings. Observations showed that 93.3% of children had reached the minimum BSH category, and 40% of them were in the Very Well Developed (BSB) category. Thus, learning using the role-playing method has proven effective in improving assertiveness skills in early childhood at KB Al-Hidayah, and indicators of learning success have been achieved in the second cycle.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of flipped classroom strategies in enhancing learners’ English speaking ability within the context of English as a Foreign Language (EFL) through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. The review follows the PRISMA 2020 guidelines and the PICOS framework to synthesize empirical studies published between 2021 to 2025. Literature searches were conducted across major academic databases, including Scopus, Web of Science, ERIC, and Google Scholar. 234 articles initially identified, 37 peer-reviewed and reputable studies met the inclusion criteria and were analyzed thematically. The synthesis of findings indicated that the implementation of flipped classroom approaches consistently yields positive effects on EFL learners’ speaking ability, particularly in terms of fluency, oral performance, confidence, reduced speaking anxiety, and willingness to communicate. Improvements in pronunciation were also reported. However, these outcomes appear to be context-dependent and are strongly influenced by the quality of instructional design, feedback mechanisms, and the duration of the intervention. In addition, several recurring challenges in implementing flipped classroom models were identified, including limited access to technology, learners’ readiness for autonomous learning, increased teacher workload, and time constraints. Overall, the findings suggested that the effectiveness of flipped classroom approaches in English speaking instruction is determined more by pedagogical alignment and learning context than by the use of technology alone. This study offers practical implications for EFL practitioners and highlights directions for future research on sustainable and context-sensitive flipped classroom implementation.KEYWORDS: Flipped classroom; English speaking ability; EFL learners; Speaking instruction; Oral communication

Abstract

Urban economic development brings various pressures for micro-business owners, particularly in island regions like Ternate City. Rising inflation, increasing cost of living, intensifying business competition, and changing consumption patterns of urban residents pose real challenges to the sustainability of micro-enterprises with limited capital and adaptive capacity. This research aims to analyze the survival strategies employed by micro-business owners in Ternate City in the face of urban economic pressures. The research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques including in-depth interviews, field observations, and documentation from nine micro-enterprises operating in the culinary, small trade, and service sectors. Data analysis was conducted using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The research results indicate that micro-business owners face economic pressure in the form of rising raw material prices, increasing operational costs, business competition, and declining consumer purchasing power. To survive, business owners are implementing cost efficiency strategies, product diversification, simple use of digital technology, operational flexibility, and strengthening social networks and family support. However, the effectiveness of this strategy is influenced by supporting and hindering factors, such as capital limitations, digital literacy, and policy access. This research underscores the importance of micro-enterprise empowerment policies that are adaptable to the dynamics of the urban economy.

Abstract

Renewable energy learning in senior high schools has significant potential to be developed through a STEM approach; however, its implementation in classroom practice remains limited. This study aimed to explore the implementation of STEM learning in senior high schools on renewable energy topics, identify the challenges encountered, and examine the opportunities for developing project-based STEM learning. A mixed-method approach with a descriptive exploratory design was employed. The research subjects consisted of 30 science teachers and 617 senior high school students from several schools in Lhokseumawe City and North Aceh Regency. Data were collected through closed and open-ended questionnaires and document analysis of lesson plans, teaching modules, and student worksheets, and analyzed using descriptive statistics and thematic analysis. The results revealed that STEM learning implementation was at a moderate and partial level, with STEM components not yet explicitly integrated. Major challenges included limited pedagogical understanding of STEM, inadequate facilities, time constraints, and difficulties in project assessment. Nevertheless, high student interest, local contextual potential, and curriculum support indicate substantial opportunities for developing project-based STEM learning on renewable energy topics. This study provides an evidence-based foundation for the development of contextual and sustainable STEM-based renewable energy learning in senior high schools.

Abstract

Green English language teaching is driven by the idea that, given its global scope, English language teaching (ELT) should not only equip students with language skills, but also enhance their knowledge of important global issues. However, because it shapes how we as humans view and interact with the natural world, the eco-pedagogical significance of the green materials in ELT textbooks has an impact on how nature is portrayed linguistically and discursively, as well as how humans and nature interact. This project aims to investigate students' writing skills around the environment which shows that students' writing skills are improving and the implementation of green English language teaching is good. The researcher distributed survey questionnaires and conducted interviews with the respondents.  Then, the findings of this study showed that most of the students had positive perceptions in green English language teaching to improve their writing and English language skills. Although, some of them have negative perceptions in some parts of green English language teaching to improve English writing and language skills. In addition, green english language teaching is very useful and helpful in fostering awareness towards students to be more confident when expressing writing ideas and suggestions.
