Abstract

Bantar Agung Tourism Village in Majalengka Regency holds vast potential for international tourism, yet the limited English proficiency of local operators remains a primary barrier to achieving service excellence. Although the village boasts highly attractive natural tourism potentials, it still faces significant challenges in reaching international tourists due to foreign language communication constraints, particularly in English. This community service initiative aims to enhance human resource capacity through practical English for Tourism communication training, focusing on introducing tourist attractions, explaining travel routes, answering visitor inquiries, and conveying local culture and history. The program's implementation methodology includes interactive lectures, intensive training using the role-play method, and interactive Q&A and discussion sessions. The results indicate a significant increase in the operators' confidence and speaking skills when welcoming international tourists. Standardized greetings, safety instruction delivery, and complaint handling now strictly align with service excellence principles. The implication of this program is the establishment of a more professional, welcoming, and globally competitive service standard to support the sustainability of the creative economy in Bantar Agung Village.

Abstract

The saying goes, "Nothing in this world remains constant except change itself." This is further emphasized by the fact that as soon as we wake up in the morning, we are faced with risk. Simply put, risk is an "unpleasant" event that might occur in the future. No one can be certain of what will happen in the future. Because the future is uncertain, the potential for risk is always present. There is the risk of losing money on investments we choose, the risk of delays in train departures and arrivals, the risk of delayed deliveries, the risk of production interruptions, and many other events that pose risks. Nothing can guarantee certainty. Risk is the impact, the outcome caused by an event. Developing a new product can be risky. There is the risk of the product not meeting standards or specifications. There is the risk of the product not selling. The project being executed may not go as planned. This is where the risk of project failure arises. Uncertainty in the supply chain requires industry players and academics to have a strong understanding of logistics risk management. Logistics plays a crucial role in any organization. Without logistics, there would be no material movement, no operations management, no products, no customer service, no sales, and no profits. Logistics is also expensive. Every logistics activity incurs costs, known as logistics costs, such as procurement costs, transportation costs, storage costs, distribution costs, inventory management costs, and others. Aggregate logistics costs are often measured as a percentage of GDP. The percentage of logistics costs to GDP varies between countries, ranging from 11% to 32%. In Indonesia, aggregate logistics costs account for no less than 24% of GDP. Besides being expensive, logistics activities are also risky because they are closely related to safety, security, health, and environmental issues. This community service activity took the form of an online workshop on Logistics Risk Management, organized by the Commercial Logistics Study Program of the LP3I Jakarta Polytechnic in collaboration with the Center of Competency (CoC). The objective of this activity was to enhance participants' understanding of risk management concepts in the logistics sector, including warehousing, transportation, distribution, and supply chain risks. The workshop was conducted through an online seminar using the g-meet platform, incorporating lectures, discussions, case studies, and a question-and-answer session. Participants included lecturers, students, logistics practitioners, and the general public. The results demonstrated an increased understanding of logistics risk identification and risk mitigation strategies. This workshop is expected to contribute to improving the competency of the public and industry players in implementing effective and sustainable logistics risk management.

Abstract

The development of inclusive-based tourism villages is a crucial strategy in sustainable local economic development. Bantaragung Tourism Village has great potential in the homestay accommodation sector, but its management still faces challenges related to limited capacity and inclusive Human Resources (HR) governance—particularly the involvement of vulnerable groups, women, and local youth. This Community Service/Research aims to assist homestay owners and managers in Bantaragung Tourism Village in implementing inclusive HR management to boost their business performance. The method used is Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) through a series of stages including socialization, excellent service training (hospitality), fair work division workshops, and direct mentoring (on-site mentoring). The results of the mentoring show an average increase in the capacity of understanding inclusive HR management of 83.3% related to the importance of inclusivity in operational services. The implementation of inclusive HR has been proven to optimize role division, improve guest service standards, and foster an adaptive work environment. This positive impact leads to an increase in homestay business performance, as indicated by a 50% Understanding of the Concept of Inclusivity and positive reviews from tourists. The success of this program confirms that inclusive human resource management is not just a social responsibility, but a strategic business strategy that can increase the competitiveness of accommodation in tourist villages.

Abstract

Bantaragung Tourism Village has extraordinary natural and cultural attractions, but the management of its tourism agenda is not well structured, so tourist visits are still seasonal. This community service activity aims to assist the managers of Bantaragung Tourism Village (Pokdarwis) in preparing an annual calendar of events as an integrated marketing strategy and to increase tourist visits. The method used in this mentoring program is Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) which is implemented through three stages: (1) mapping the potential of local arts, culture, and traditions, (2) event design and management workshops, and (3) preparation and digitization of the event calendar. The result of this activity is the formation of the Bantaragung Tourism Village Annual Event Calendar that integrates various cultural festivals, nature sports agendas (sport tourism), and local traditional rituals throughout the year. In addition, this activity has succeeded in increasing the understanding and skills of Pokdarwis in planning, packaging, and promoting events independently. The implications of this structured event calendar are expected to provide schedule certainty for tourists, facilitate promotions for external parties, and have a positive impact on improving the local community's economy in a sustainable manner.

Abstract

Technological advancements have transformed public speaking. Speakers are now required not only to be able to speak well face-to-face but also to understand the use of digital communication technologies. For example, the use of cameras, microphones, visual presentations, and the ability to maintain audience interaction online. These benefits include increased self-confidence, facilitating the delivery of ideas and information, supporting careers and professionalism, enhancing interpersonal communication skills, and helping build personal branding in digital media. To be a good speaker in the digital era, one needs to pay attention to several important aspects, such as: mastery of material, intonation and articulation, body language and expression, the use of engaging presentation media, and the ability to interact with audiences both online and offline. Furthermore, digital communication ethics are also crucial. Speakers must use polite language, respect the audience, avoid spreading false information, and maintain professionalism in every delivery. With the development of digital technology, public speaking skills have become one of the main soft skills needed in education, organizations, business, and the workplace. Therefore, every individual needs to continuously practice their public speaking skills to be able to adapt and communicate effectively in the digital era. In an era of globalization and increasingly fierce job competition, companies assess prospective employees not only on technical abilities (hard skills), but also on non-technical or soft skills such as communication, teamwork, leadership, and time management. This training is designed to improve the quality of human resources so they can adapt, collaborate, and contribute optimally in a professional work environment.

Abstract

The family Welfare Movement (PKK) is an empowerment movement that strives for community economic independence. Family independence is key to village social resilience. The Bantar Agung Village family welfare movement (PKK) has great potential as agents of change, but the human resource capacity of cadres still needs to be improved. This community service activity aims to develop the human resources of PKK mothers through a four pillar program to encourage family independence: local potential, the strategic role of PKK mothers, the empowerment model, and success indicators. Obstacles in this community service activity are the double burden on women and cadre regeneration. A community of practice based human resource development model is recommended for program sustainability.

Abstract

Bantaragung Village is a rapidly growing tourist village area in Majalengka Regency. Along with the increase in economic and tourism activities, the demand for legal awareness and fulfillment of administrative obligations, including taxation, is becoming increasingly crucial. Teachers, as the main pillar of education, hold a strategic role as agents of change, yet they often face obstacles in understanding dynamic tax regulations and reporting procedures that are perceived as complex. Objective: This study aims to analyze the application, understanding, and urgency of simple tax education for teachers in the Bantaragung tourist area to increase voluntary tax compliance. Method: The method used in this activity is a descriptive qualitative approach combined with socialization and assistance implementation methods (action research). The research subjects consisted of teachers across education levels in Bantaragung Village. Data were collected through pre-test and post-test questionnaires, in-depth interviews, and direct observation during the simulation of filling out e-Filing for Income Tax (PPh) Article 21. Results: The results showed that prior to the simple tax education program, the majority of teachers experienced administrative anxiety and confusion regarding the calculation of PTKP (Non-Taxable Income) and digital-based reporting mechanisms. After being provided with assistance using simplified practical tax modules, there was increase in regulatory understanding, and the success rate of independent Annual Tax Return (SPT). Tax education targeting educators in this tourist area has proven effective in creating new tax literacy agents who have the potential to spread tax awareness to the tourism-aware community (Pokdarwis) and local MSME actors around Bantaragung.
