Abstract

The development of digital technology necessitates a transformation in learning evaluation systems in schools, including at the junior high school level; however, many schools still rely on manual, paper-based examinations, resulting in limited student experience and insufficient digital readiness to face computer-based assessments. This condition potentially hinders students’ ability to adapt to national computer-based assessments. This Community Service activity aimed to implement Computer-Based Test (CBT)–based examinations to improve students’ digital readiness while enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of learning evaluation in junior high schools. The implementation employed a participatory approach using the Action–Plan–Analyze–Reflect (APAR) strategy, which included needs analysis, planning, action through socialization, simulations, and CBT exam implementation, as well as reflection and evaluation involving teachers and students. The results demonstrated a significant improvement in students’ digital readiness, as indicated by their ability to operate the examination system independently, increased self-confidence, and better understanding of digital device usage. In addition, the implementation of CBT benefited teachers and schools by reducing correction time, minimizing paper usage, and simplifying the management of examination result data. The program activity contributes positively to the digital transformation of learning evaluation and serves as an applicable and sustainable model for CBT implementation in junior high school settings.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard (QRIS) as a non-cash payment solution and a means of enhancing digital literacy among MSMEs. The research background is based on the low level of digital understanding among rural MSME actors, limited infrastructure, and the dominance of cash transactions, despite the belief that QRIS can improve transaction efficiency and expand market access. The study employs a qualitative approach with a case study design through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation, supported by thematic data analysis using source and method triangulation. The findings reveal that the implementation of QRIS provides tangible benefits, including increased digital knowledge and skills among MSME actors, improved transaction efficiency, and greater business development opportunities. Young consumers demonstrate high enthusiasm for digital payments, while older age groups tend to prefer cash transactions. The main challenges include limited digital literacy, uneven internet network coverage, and cultural resistance to cashless transactions. This study concludes that QRIS not only functions as a payment instrument but also as a digital transformation medium in supporting the digital economic transformation of MSMEs.

Abstract

Serut Village is one of the agricultural villages in Jember where most of the residents work as farmers, especially corn farmers. The corn harvest is always sold raw, resulting in the accumulation of corn harvest waste such as corn husks and corn silk, even though both types of waste still have many uses if processed into products such as herbal tea that helps relieve urinary tract problems, prevent kidney stones, lower blood pressure, and help control blood sugar. Therefore, this activity aims to improve the skills of the Serut Village community in processing waste into marketable products, supporting the utilization of local resources, and introduce processed corn silk tea (EKOTHE) as a healthy alternative beverage. The implementation method for implementing the corn silk processing program into herbal tea is divided into three stages: pre-program, program implementation, and post-program. The results indicate an improvement in community skills in processing herbal products, the establishment of creative business groups, and increased awareness of the added value of agricultural waste. This innovation is expected to serve as a model for developing a local-based creative economy while enhancing the welfare of rural communities.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of promoting a habit of saving through Saving Habit Socialization activities in improving financial literacy among elementary school students in Prapat Janji Village. The study uses a descriptive-participatory approach with 30 fourth- and fifth-grade elementary school students as subjects. Data collection was carried out through observations, interviews with teachers, parents, and students, as well as documentation during the program implementation. The results of the study indicate that before the program was implemented, only about 50% of students saved regularly, while the majority of students spent their pocket money on snacks. The low habit of saving is influenced by students' limited understanding of the importance of saving, the lack of continuous habituation at school, and minimal guidance from parents. The implementation of Saving Habit Socialization is considered relevant as an educational strategy capable of enhancing students' financial literacy holistically, covering aspects of knowledge, attitude, and financial behavior. This study emphasizes the importance of contextual, practical, and sustainable savings education by involving the roles of schools and families to shape positive financial habits from an early age.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and identify solutions to the managerial and financial problems faced by micro-enterprises in the barbershop sector. The study is based on a lack of understanding of business planning and basic financial record-keeping, which hinders business growth and competitiveness. The method used is a participatory and applied approach, involving barbershop owners and employees at every stage of the activity. The first stage is needs identification through surveys and interviews, followed by business strategy socialization and simple financial bookkeeping training. Evaluation was conducted using pre- and post-tests to measure the increase in participants' knowledge. The results showed a significant increase in understanding of business planning, operational management, and financial bookkeeping after the training. The recommendations from this study are the need for a longer implementation period, ongoing mentoring, and the involvement of relevant parties such as local governments or financial institutions to increase the sustainability of the program. This study contributes to proving that participatory and practice-based empowerment programs can improve the managerial and financial capacity of micro-enterprises, thereby supporting the growth and competitiveness of small businesses like Matahari Barbershop.

Abstract

This community engagement project aims to strengthening of psychological capital in supporting the psychosocial readiness of former Shia residents of Jemundo prior to their return to Sampang Regency in a post-religious conflict context. Psychological capital—comprising hope, optimism, self-efficacy, and resilience—is understood as an integrated construct that plays a crucial role in enabling individuals to navigate social transitions characterized by uncertainty. The program was implemented through a participatory approach that positioned community members as active subjects in the psychosocial accompaniment process. The findings indicate that the four dimensions of psychological capital mutually reinforce one another and contribute to participants’ capacity to reconstruct the meaning of return in a more adaptive manner. Nevertheless, the development of psychological capital cannot be detached from the structural conditions shaping post-conflict experiences, including state policies and local social relations. Therefore, strengthening psychological capital should be framed as complementary to, rather than a substitute for, the state’s responsibility to ensure the fulfillment of citizens’ basic rights. This study recommends the integration of psychosocial interventions and responsive structural policies to support sustainable social reintegration.
