Abstract

The nutrition program by applying the concept of First 1000 days of life has not given maximum results, so the concept of First 8000 days of life appears. The First 8000 days of life concept covers life from 0 months to 21 year olds. The concept of First 8000 days of life is proven to have an impact on neuro-cognitive development that is very effective at that age and affects the health and human resources of future generations. The purpose of this study was to identify or analyze health and nutrition investments in First 8000 days of life. The Method used is literature by obtaining references from PubMed, Lancet, Google Scholar. The literature obtained was selected by paying attention to exclusion criteria whitch were seen from several things such as inappropriate topics and thriugh identifying abstacts that were not appropriate to problems related to the first 8000 days of life and interventions through health facilities and nutrition education. The results of this study indicated that health investment during the First 8000 days of life period is important and with supporting factors, namely health and nutrition education and health services, this program will run optimally. However, it is known that health and nutrition education and health services in Indonesia have not run optimally. The conclusion is that the investment of First 8000 days of life in children and adolescents is very important for the future, but must be supported by health and nutrition education and adequate health services through fully available health facilities.

Abstract

The prevalence of stunting has decreased, but is not yet in accordance with WHO standards. There has been a lot of research on the role of the community through community based services in efforts to improve nutritional status and most of them recommend cross-sectors. The aim of this research is to identify and analyze forms of cross-sector support in preventing stunting. This type of research is qualitative with a case study approach. Data collection was carried out by in-depth interviews with mothers of toddlers, health workers at community health centers, posyandu and PKK cadres, as well as sub-district officials using a purposive sampling method. Data analysis was carried out by open coding using the OpenCode 4.03 application. The research results show that cross-sector support in preventing stunting is realized in the form of: health workforce, service delivery and financing. Health workforce is realized in empowering cadres and TPK in providing education, assisting toddlers and making posyandu reports. Service delivery is realized in measuring body weight and height, carrying out validation, following up on cases of malnourished toddlers by conducting examinations at community health centers, providing medicine and multivitamins, as well as PMT for toddlers. Financing is realized by high levels of community self-reliance in providing financial support for posyandu activities, Health Operational Assistance (BOK) from the Central government for socialization and cadre training activities, sub-district APBD for stunting PMT, and the Health Service for cadre incentives.

Abstract

Anemia is a condition where the hemoglobin level in the blood is below normal levels. Adolescent girls are at higher risk of experiencing anemia due to menstruation which has an impact on decreasing academic abilities and in the long term has the potential to increase the risk of maternal death and giving birth to Low Birth Weight (LBW). Based on 2023 data, the incidence of anemia in the UPTD of Godong 1 Community Health Center is still high, namely 176 cases. The aim of this research is to identify factors associated with the incidence of anemia in adolescent girls at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Yatpi Godong in 2024. This type of research is analytical observational with a cross-sectional approach. The population is adolescent girls in grades 7-9 WHO attend Madrasah Tsanawiyah Yatpi Godong with a total of 115 people. The sample was 54 people selected using proportional random sampling technique. The instruments used consisted of a questionnaire (knowledge of anemia, compliance with the consumption of Iron Tablets Supplementation and the menstrual cycle), anthropometric measuring instruments (scales, microtoise and LILA tape) and easy touch Hb (to measure levels Hb). Data were analyzed using the chi-square test. The majority of respondents had anemia as much as (72.2%), low knowledge of anemia (51.9%), thinness (59.3%), chronic energy deficiency (57.4%), and non-compliance with taking Iron Tablets Suplementation (75.9%). It was found that 20.4% of respondents experienced abnormal menstrual cycles. This research shows that there is a correlation between nutritional status, compliance in consuming Iron Tablets Supplementation, and the menstrual cycle with the incidence of anemia. However, there was no significant relationship between knowledge and the incidence of anemia in adolescent girls.

Abstract

Moringa leaves contain many nutrients, one of which is iron. Insufficient iron intake can cause anemia in adolescents, because iron is an important element for the formation of hemoglobin. Moringa leaf flour can be used as a substitute ingredient for making food dishes. One of the foods that teenagers like to consume is chocolate. This research aims to determine the hedonic test of white chocolate with the addition of moringa leaf flour (Moringa oleifera L.). The type of research was experimental with a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 4 treatments, namely 0%, 0.01%, 0.02%, and 0.03%. The research panelists were 25 panelists who were somewhat interested. Statistical analysis of differences in the hedonic test used was the Kruskal Wallis test (a≤0.05). The hedonic test results showed that the most preferred treatment was K2 treatment (0.02%). The results of statistical analysis showed that there were differences in hedonic tests in taste characteristics (p=0.018) and color (p=0.006), as well as no differences in aroma characteristics (p=0.872) and texture (p=0.163). The highest levels of iron and vitamin C in Moringa chocolate were obtained from treatment with the addition of 7.5 grams of Moringa leaf flour (K3). Based on the research results, it is recommended for further research to carry out new innovations, such as making snack bars with the addition of moringa leaf flour (Moringa oleifera L.) and continuing with antioxidant tests.

Abstract

SSGI data for 2022 shows that the prevalence of malnourished children under five is 7.7% and in Banten province it has increased from 5.8% to 9.8%. Malnutrition in toddlers is the main cause of growth and development disorders. One of the government programs in dealing with malnourished toddlers is an education class for mothers of toddlers based on MCH books which is expected to be able to improve the nutritional status of malnourished toddlers. This research aims to determine the effect of nutritional education through classes for mothers of toddlers based on MCH books on the nutritional status of malnourished toddlers. Experimental research method with a one group pretest posttest design. The sample for this research was 60 malnourished toddlers using a purposive sampling technique. Primary data includes sample characteristics, maternal nutritional knowledge collected through interviews using questionnaires and anthropometric measurements. Research data was processed using Microsoft Excel and SPSS, analyzed using the Paired Sample T-Test statistical test. The results showed that the majority of toddlers (71.7%) were male, 66.7% of mothers had an elementary school educational background and the majority did not work (76.7%) and came from families with monthly income below the minimum wage. (53.3%). Research data shows that there is a positive change in the mother's nutritional knowledge score, namely 30% to 75% in the good category and 70% to 25% in the poor category. Most toddlers experience an increase in average body weight, body length and z-score value of BB/PB or BB/TB. The results of the Paired Sample T-Test statistical test showed that there was an influence of maternal classroom nutrition education on maternal nutritional knowledge (p=0.000) and nutritional status of toddlers (p=0.000). It is hoped that this class program for mothers of toddlers can be continued, considering the impact felt by the target group.
