Abstract

The objective of the study is to identify the students’ learning styles including visual, auditory or kinaesthetic in English teaching and learning process. This research is descriptive qualitative research. This research was conducted at Institute of Sunan Drajat Islamic Boarding School which the participants of this research were the first semester students of islamic counseling and guidance department program in the academic year of 2023 / 2024. The number of the subjects were 35. The data collection was done by giving a questionnaire. The questionnaire was adapted from the VAK learning styles test created by Chislett and Chapman (2005) which consists of 30 questions determining students’ learning style.  The research findings indicated that there are 16 (45,71%) students categorized as visual learners, 12 (34,28%) students categorized as auditory learners, and 7 (20%) students categorized as kinaesthetic learners.  Visual learners prefer to learn by seeing and watching demonstration. Auditory learners prefer to learn by hearing. And the kinaesthetic learners prefer learn by doing

Abstract

Towards a Golden Indonesia 2045. The world of education is required to develop optimally in order to meet human resources in the future. Today's high school level students are potential leaders in that era. These demands and challenges can cause anxiety in students in addition to increasingly complex adolescent problems. Psychoanalytic counseling can be a method to help students deal with personal problems. reshaping individual character structures by creating unconscious awareness in students. The literature review technique was used in the composition of this piece.  Literature review is a way to find, read, and comprehend written works that have been produced during the last ten years.  Definitions, counseling stages, counseling procedures, and the pros and cons of the psychoanalytic counseling approach are all part of the research's findings within the psychoanalytic theoretical framework.

Abstract

This study explores the traumatic experiences experienced by Sowon, a girl who is a victim of sexual abuse in the film Hope. The film depicts her emotional and psychological journey after experiencing violence, as well as the impacts that arise in her life. Using a psychoanalytic counseling approach, this study identifies various self-defense mechanisms that Sowon uses in dealing with trauma. Various negative emotions such as pain, fear, and loss of control become part of her struggle in facing the bitter reality. The findings show that Sowon develops self-defense mechanisms such as denial, diversion, and regression as a way to survive in an unstable psychological condition. In addition, support from parents and counselors plays an important role in helping her build more effective coping strategies. This study aims to provide a deeper understanding of the psychological impact of sexual violence on children, as well as emphasize the importance of appropriate counseling interventions in the victim's recovery process. Thus, the results of this study are expected to contribute to the development of more effective counseling theories and practices for victims of sexual abuse.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the impact of parenting styles on adolescent behavior using a qualitative case study approach within a group counseling setting. The subjects consisted of six adolescents aged 13–15 years from SMPN 17 Bekasi, West Java, Indonesia each with different parenting backgrounds. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, observation, and documentation, and were validated using triangulation and discussions with the school counselor. The findings indicate that authoritarian, permissive, and neglectful parenting styles negatively affect adolescents' social and emotional behavior, such as anxiety, aggression, withdrawal, and involvement in deviant behaviors. Group counseling helped explore the subjects' experiences and emotions; however, some cases indicated the need for additional intervention through individual counseling. These findings highlight the importance of collaboration between counselors, parents, and schools in establishing parenting styles that support adolescents' positive development.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of group guidance services using modeling techniques on work discipline among employees at Astra Motor Gajahmada Semarang. The background of this research is the importance of work discipline as one of the factors that influence productivity and efficiency in the company. This research uses a quantitative approach with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The sample consists of 30 employees selected through simple random sampling. Data was collected through a work discipline scale questionnaire that has been tested for validity and reliability. The analysis technique used is the t-test with the aid of SPSS. The results of the study show that there is a significant effect of group guidance services using modeling techniques on the improvement of employee work discipline. Where the results of the hypothesis test that have been carried out in this study are known that the results of tcal = 10.45 > 1.706 ttables. then Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted. So the hypothesis reads "Group Guidance Services with Modelling Techniques Affect the Work Discipline of Astra Motor Gajahmada Semarang Employees.This shows that the application of modeling techniques can be used as an effective strategy in group guidance services to form disciplined and professional work behavior.

Abstract

Premarital sexual behavior among adolescents is an increasingly worrying social phenomenon. Data from various institutions show an increasing number of adolescents engaging in extramarital sexual relations, which has an impact on the risk of unwanted pregnancy, sexually transmitted diseases, and psychological problems. One factor that influences adolescents' tendencies towards such behavior is their level of knowledge about sexuality. Lack of knowledge can cause adolescents to have a permissive attitude towards unhealthy sexual behavior. This study aims to determine the relationship between sexuality knowledge and attitudes towards premarital sexual behavior among adolescents in the Semarang City Children's Forum (FAN). This study was conducted using a quantitative research type with a correlational research design. The population in this study were all 43 members of the Semarang City Children's Forum (FAN). The sample used in this study was the entire population, namely 43 people. Sampling in this study used a saturated sampling technique. The data collection technique used a Guttman scale, namely sexuality knowledge, and a Likert scale, namely attitudes towards premarital sexual behavior. Based on the Spearman rho hypothesis test, the significance value (2-tailed) was 0.007 < 0.05, and the calculated r value > r table, namely 0.402 > 0.301, indicating a positive correlation. This means that the higher a person's level of knowledge about sexuality, the higher their positive attitude in rejecting premarital sexual behavior.

Abstract

The background of this study is the increasing interest of students in online games, resulting in negative impacts on students, namely students becoming addicted to online games, so that students have difficulty managing time due to lack of selfcontrol. The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between selfcontrol and online game addiction in grade XI students at SMA Negeri 1 Godong. The research method used is quantitative. The data collection process was carried out by distributing questionnaires to 30 grade XI 1 students of SMA Negeri 1 Godong. The results of this study are based on hypothesis testing using Pearson correlation, obtained a correlation coefficient value of 0.569 with a significance of 0.000, so this value indicates that there is a statistically significant relationship between self-control and online game addiction.

Abstract

Group counseling is a guidance service that helps students address problems through group interaction. One common issue is TikTok addiction, which disrupts learning focus, task completion, and academic performance. This study explores the use of group counseling with a self-management technique to reduce TikTok addiction among Grade IX B students at SMP 4 Bae. A quantitative approach was applied using a quasi-experimental method with a non-equivalent control group design. Two groups participated: an experimental group (received treatment) and a control group (no treatment), both given pretests and posttests. Data were collected through interviews, observation, and a TikTok addiction scale, then analyzed using the Wilcoxon signed-rank test. Results showed a significant decrease in addiction scores in the experimental group (from 134.4 to 79.63), while the control group showed a smaller reduction (from 132.75 to 119.63). This while indicates that group counseling with a self-management technique is effective in reducing TikTok addiction.

Abstract

The objectives of this study are 1) To find out what factors cause SMAN 2 Bae Kudus students to be late to school 2) To find out how the results of the application of behavioristic counseling with behavior contract techniques in overcoming behavior often late to school in SMAN 2 Bae Kudus students. The type of research used is a qualitative type of research with a case study approach. The subjects in this study are 2 students with the initials GR and NM from SMAN 2 Bae Kudus class XI F 11 which is a KKO class. The data collection techniques used are in the form of observation, interviews, documentation. To test the validity of the data using triangulation. The data analysis technique uses the data analysis of the miles and Huberman model. The results of this study show that there is a behavioral change in students from maladaptive behavior (late school attendance) to adaptive (coming to school on time) after the provision of behavioristic counseling services with behavior contract techniques. Thus, it can be concluded that the application of Behavioristic counseling with the behavior contract technique can overcome late school entry behavior in students of SMAN 2 Bae Kudus grade XI F 11.
