Abstract

This study aims to explore the implementation of Self-Regulated Learning (SRL) in addressing truancy among students at SMP Amanatullah. The research employs a qualitative descriptive method with a case study approach. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and field notes, focusing on a 14-year-old student who frequently skipped school. The findings reveal that the primary causes of truancy are boredom with lessons, perceived difficulty of the material, and an overwhelming number of assignments. The implementation of SRL through individual counseling, goal setting, and metacognitive strategies effectively improved the student's learning motivation. Following the intervention, the frequency of truancy significantly decreased, and active engagement in the learning process increased. This study recommends the broader application of SRL in schools to enhance students' motivation and independent learning skills.

Abstract

Adolescents who are still in school are vulnerable to feeling academic stress. This study aims to find out about academic stress and the role of Islamic counseling in managing it at SMK Iptek Weru Sukoharjo. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research. Data collection techniques using interviews, observation, and documentation. The data sources of this research are the results of interviews with counseling teachers and literature studies. The results of the research are Academic stress is a situation or condition in which there is a mismatch between environmental demands and the abilities possessed by students, so that students feel increasingly burdened by various pressures and demands. Examples of academic stress in SMK Iptek students are missing school, skipping class, being alone, always sleeping in class, and never doing assignments. Factors that trigger academic stress are competition between friends and even between classes, teachers who emphasize that all students must be able and assume that all students' abilities are the same as well as the absence of complete facilities and provided by the school. Therefore, the role of Islamic counseling is present in helping to manage academic stress by collaborating with PAI teachers in providing motivation, material in stress management and so on as well as material about character.

Abstract

To achieve success in the implementation of guidance and counseling, more focused management services are needed so that goals can be achieved optimally. This study aims. This study aims to analyze more deeply related to guidance and counseling management in improving the mastery of counseling service skills of BK teachers. This study uses a literature study method with a descriptive normative approach, relying on primary data, namely POP BK, as well as secondary data from books and articles. Data were collected through documentation techniques and analyzed using content analysis methods to obtain valid conclusions. One of the management process models that can help explain various problems is through reflective analysis of the contents of counseling sessions. The main focus of guidance and counseling lies on the client, by analyzing what is conveyed, how aspects of the client's life are interconnected, and what the client wants. Information expressed by the client can also be a guide for BK teachers in understanding cases that may not have been explicitly realized. It is hoped that this study can be used as a consideration for related science.

Abstract

Democracy has become a political system that has been used massively in Indonesia since the reformation rolled in 1998. Elections are one of the major agendas of the government and state to be called a democratic country. In the 2024 election, there were allegations of pragmatic politics and transactional politics in Lamongan Regency. This is one of the important social facts amidst the rampant campaign about democratization in Indonesia. With this kind of incident, political costs are high, because there is or there is a lot of technical money rolling during the election. This study uses a descriptive qualitative research method supported by a literature study as part of the analytical tool to reveal facts and field findings in the study. Pragmatic attitudes and transactional political activities in Lamongan Regency do not appear in a vacuum but have become a massive social phenomenon and seem to be an open secret. Both politicians, legislative candidates and the community in Lamongan Regency consider these activities to be something that is not strange and ordinary, so that this pragmatic attitude cannot only be directed at politicians but also the majority of the community does want this. Thus, democracy is not only a matter of political development and the exchange of ideas about a welfare state, but on the other hand, it gives rise to high-cost politics due to transactional and pragmatic politics.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the assertive behavior of students who are victims of verbal bullying at SMP Negeri 27 Samarinda City through assertive training techniques in group counseling services. The subjects of the study were grade VIII students who were identified as experiencing bullying and had difficulty expressing their feelings, based on the results of AKPD and interviews with BK teachers. The method used was Guidance and Counseling Action Research (PTBK) with a qualitative and quantitative approach. Data collection techniques included assertive scales, observations, interviews, and documentation. The results showed an increase in assertive behavior after assertive training was given, such as the courage to express opinions, defend personal rights, and reject verbal pressure more confidently. Thus, the conclusion in this study is that assertive training has been proven effective in improving assertive behavior and can be used as an alternative intervention in guidance and counseling services

Abstract

In the process of development, adolescents often have difficulty in expressing their emotions and opinions. The feelings of embarrassment and discomfort felt by adolescents have an impact on the difficulty in conveying arguments caused by lack of communication skills. This study aims to increase understanding for adolescents that assertive communication is important in everyday life, so that it is easier to socialize and build communication with people around them. This research method uses descriptive qualitative research methods. Data collection techniques used are interviews, observations and documentation. Data analysis used is data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The data validity technique uses triangulation of data sources, namely by comparing the results of interviews, observations, and documentation.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the description of the level of Self Confidence of adolescents. 52 adolescents with random sampling techniques are subjeks in the study. The research method is descriptive quantitative. The Self Confidence Scale is a Likert scale of 50 statements divided into favorable and unfavorable items with alternative answers strongly agree, agree, disagree and strongly disagree which are arranged from the Lauser concept, namely aspects of independence, commitment, self-understanding, self-adjustment, assertiveness, optimism and daring to express opinions. Researchers use a used tryout scale. Validity test with product moment technique and reliability test using alpha cronbach technique with SPSS 26.00 application. From the validity test, 37 valid items were obtained while the results of the reliability test were 0.925 including strong reliability. The range of the Self Confidence level group of Sumerrejo Bojonegoro adolescents is a high group of 8 adolescents, medium group of 40, low group of 4 adolescents. The results of this study recommend that adolescents continue to improve their Self Confidence.

Abstract

Family communication patterns play an important role in building closeness to children in order to create a harmonious relationship. Interaction and communication in the family are not only carried out with parents, but also with siblings, both older and younger. In order to create harmony between the two, parents should not compare in order to avoid quarrels between siblings (Sibling Rivalry). Researchers use qualitative research methods. Data collection techniques used include interviews, observations and documentation, then a conclusion can be drawn. In analyzing research problems, researchers focus on using the theory of family communication patterns (Family Communication Pattern Theory). Researchers can conclude that the family communication pattern used is a pluralistic family communication pattern, where the family has a high conversation orientation and a low conformity orientation so that it is open without limitations. Parents are open to the values ​​and beliefs in the family. However, parents can also accept differences of opinion from children.

Abstract

This study systematically reviews empirical evidence examining the effectiveness of Cognitive Restructuring techniques in counseling across diverse educational and psychosocial contexts. Findings demonstrate that this approach effectively addresses various psychological issues, including anxiety, body shame, academic stressors, and low self-esteem. The analysis reveals five key cognitive-emotional domains impacted: (1) negative automatic thoughts, (2) cognitive distortions, (3) emotional regulation, (4) self-image, and (5) intrinsic motivation. Importantly, the technique not only reduces psychological symptoms but also enhances social functioning, academic participation, and adaptive behaviors. Practical applications include thought journals, Socratic dialogues, and ABCDE frameworks, all showing measurable improvements in clients' rational thinking and coping strategies. The review concludes that Cognitive Restructuring's efficacy depends on both systematic implementation and counselor competence in guiding cognitive reflection. These findings establish it as an evidence-based intervention for mental health enhancement and maladaptive thought modification in counseling practice.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of group guidance services with snakes and ladders game media in improving self-understanding of class XI students of SMA Negeri 15 Medan. The background of this study is the low level of students' self-understanding which has an impact on lack of self-confidence, difficulty in recognizing potential and weaknesses, and doubt in making decisions. This study uses the Guidance and Counseling Action Research (PTBK) method which is implemented in two service cycles. The subjects of the study were seven class XI students who were selected based on the results of the AUM-Umum which showed that they had problems related to low self-understanding. Data collection techniques used questionnaires, observations, interviews, and documentation. The results showed a significant increase in the level of students' self-understanding. The average pre-cycle score of 47 (low category) increased to 67.1 (moderate category) after cycle I, and reached 85.7 (high category) at the end of cycle II. In addition, students showed positive behavioral changes such as increased self-confidence, the ability to identify strengths and weaknesses, and activeness in learning and social activities. The use of snakes and ladders games has been proven to be able to create a more relaxed and interactive learning atmosphere, making it easier for students in the process of self-reflection. Thus, group guidance services based on educational games can be an innovative alternative to improve students' self-understanding.
