Abstract

This research is motivated by the phenomenon of increasing Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD) in the digital era that encourages self-obsession and narcissistic behavior, while secular Western therapeutic approaches have not fully aligned with the spiritual values ​​of the Muslim community. The main objective of this research is to develop an Islamic counseling model based on akhlaq karimah (good character) in transforming NPD through the tazkiyah al-nafs approach. The method used is a qualitative research with an instrumental case study design, with participants being six students and alumni of the Darussalam Blokagung Islamic Boarding School aged 18-35 years who have NPD characteristics based on the NPI-16. Data were collected through semi-structured in-depth interviews, participant observation for 3-4 months, and document analysis, then analyzed using thematic analysis with an inductive-deductive approach. The results of the study show four main themes of transformation: decreasing narcissistic characteristics through spiritual awareness, increasing akhlaq karimah (good character), the strategic role of Islamic boarding school spiritual guidance, and the dynamics of the tazkiyah al-nafs process which includes the stages of takhalli, tahalli, muhasabah, and tajalli. These findings indicate that Islamic counseling based on noble character is effective in systematically and sustainably transforming egocentric orientations toward theocentric ones. Based on these results, this study concludes that the Islamic counseling model using the tazkiyah al-nafs framework is capable of producing deeper and more meaningful personality transformation than conventional approaches. The implications of this research are expected to provide an alternative, culturally appropriate therapeutic approach for the Muslim community and enrich the development of an evidence-based, contemporary Islamic psychological framework.

Abstract

This research is motivated by a problem at SMK N 1 Baso, namely that students are unable to utilize their free time productively. Group guidance services can help improve these skills. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of group guidance on students' free time utilization skills. The method used was a pre-experimental design with a one-group pre-test post-test on eight students selected through purposive sampling. The research instrument was a Likert scale questionnaire. Data analysis used the Shapiro-Wilk test and the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test with SPSS 26. The results showed a Sig. 0.011 <0.05, indicating that group guidance is effective in improving students' free time utilization skills.

Abstract

School refusal behavior is characterized by a student’s reluctance or lack of motivation to attend school due to emotional difficulties and discomfort experienced within the school environment. This behavior requires timely intervention to prevent adverse academic, social, and personal outcomes. This study examined the effect of group counseling employing self-management techniques on reducing school refusal behavior among students at SMAN 15 Pekanbaru. A quantitative quasi-experimental one-group pretest–posttest design was used. Using purposive sampling, eight eleventh-grade students who scored in the moderate to high range on a school-refusal screening questionnaire were selected. Pretest and posttest scores were compared using the Wilcoxon matched-pairs test, which indicated a statistically significant difference (p = 0.012). Intervention effectiveness was evaluated by mean N-Gain (0.52), indicating a moderate effect. The findings suggest that group counseling with self-management techniques can reduce school refusal behavior in the sampled population. Limitations include the small sample size and absence of a control group, which restrict generalizability. Further research with larger, controlled samples and investigation of precipitating factors and available support systems is recommended.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the phenomenon of the high tendency of aggressive behavior among students and their peers, especially among students at the junior high school level. This study aims to determine the effect of group guidance services using the Indonesian folklore psychodrama technique to reduce students' aggressive behavior as an effort to facilitate students to express their reactions to their pressure without using aggressive behavior. This research is a quantitative research with the One Group Pretest-Posttest experimental method. The implementation of this research was carried out at MTsN 1 Pekanbaru with a sample of 12 people from a total population of 440 seventh grade students. The results of the data obtained in this study were then calculated using descriptive statistical analysis techniques and tested for their influence using the Wilcoxon test formula and the N-Gain test. The result of the Gain Score calculation is 0.68 which can be interpreted that the magnitude of the influence of group guidance services using the Indonesian folklore psychodrama technique on students' aggressive behavior is in the moderate category. Based on this, it can be said that group guidance services using the Indonesian folklore psychodrama technique have an effect in reducing students' aggressive behavior.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the Empty Chair Technique in improving the emotional stability of students who are victims of bullying at MTsS Ulumul Qur’an Banda Aceh. The research used a quantitative experimental approach with a one-group pretest–posttest design and involved four students selected through purposive sampling based on indications of having experienced bullying. Data were collected through questionnaires and observations, then analyzed using the Shapiro–Wilk normality test and paired sample t-test. The treatment was carried out in three individual counseling sessions lasting 35 minutes each. The results showed a 25% decrease in emotional instability scores after applying the Empty Chair Technique, indicating an improvement in emotional control and self-awareness. Statistical analysis revealed a significant difference between pretest and posttest scores (p < 0.05). Thus, the Empty Chair Technique effectively helps students externalize negative emotions, reduce anxiety, and achieve emotional balance

Abstract

This study aims is to determine and describe the implementation of dhuha prayer, as a form of moral development and describe the implementation of dhuha prayer as a form of moral development. Dhuha prayer is one type of prayer that is highly recommended to be done consistently by Muslims, dhuha prayer offers many privileges, advantages for Muslims who are consistent in doing it, one of the privileges of this worship is that it can make it easier to get sustenance. This method is a qualitative method, this is a study used to examine objects by providing examples directly, providing examples with slow, moderating reading, and giving examples and attention. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that: The application of counseling techniques through Dhuha Prayer can form morals that are embedded in a person so important to realize. In addition to providing teaching in the community, there are activities as habits that are routinely carried out to improve self-quality, personality, and behavior. In carrying out coaching there are inhibiting factors. Supporting factors. Inhibiting factors are divided into external factors and internal factors. External factors from outside such as, rain in the morning and others. Internal factors are factors within a person such as someone is bored in following the implementation, lying and others. In overcoming obstacles all members have worked together well. The method used in following up is adjusted to the obstacles and problems that occur in a person himself. While the influence of carrying out the Dhuha Prayer on a personality that contains moral values, such as being able to create a sense of peace, increase cooperation, respect differences, and strengthen the attitude of istiqomah in a person.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the description of the level of career anxiety in students of the Attanwir Institute of Bojonegoro. The population is 60 students with random sampling techniques in the study. The research method is descriptive quantitative. The career anxiety scale is a Likert scale of 50 statements divided into favorable and unfavorable items with alternative answers strongly agree, agree, disagree and strongly disagree which are compiled from the concept of Tsai, Hsu & hsu, namely aspects of personal skills, irrational beliefs about work, work environment, education and professional training. Researchers use a used tryout scale. Validity test with product moment technique and reliability test using alpha cronbach technique with SPSS 26.00 application. From the validity test, 30 valid items were obtained while the results of the reliability test were 0.935 including very strong reliability. The range of career anxiety levels of students at the Attanwir Institute of Bojonegoro is a high group of 11 students, a medium group of 43 students, and a low group of 6 students. The results of this study provide an explanation to students to prevent career anxiety in final year students so that they can manage career anxiety so that it is not excessive.

Abstract

A lack of understanding of career planning among students is often a major factor contributing to confusion in selecting higher education majors or determining future employment pathways after graduating from madrasah. This issue is also evident at Madrasah Aliyah Ma’arif 7 Sunan Drajat Lamongan, where several students still lack clear and well-structured career plans. This study aims to describe the implementation of career counseling services based on the Trait and Factor approach as a strategic effort to enhance students’ career planning. The study employed a qualitative descriptive method using a case study design. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, documentation, and a career planning scale questionnaire. The research participants consisted of eight twelfth-grade students selected purposively. The findings reveal that Trait and Factor-based counseling services were effective in increasing students’ self-awareness, clarifying their academic and career directions, and promoting rational decision-making aligned with their individual characteristics. The counseling process, comprising the stages of analysis, synthesis, diagnosis, prognosis, treatment, and follow-up had a positive impact on students’ readiness to design their future career paths. These results confirm that the Trait and Factor approach can be effectively adapted within madrasah-based career guidance services as a strategic framework for fostering students’ independence and maturity in career planning.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the influence of career information services on career choice. This study uses an approach positivism-quantitative.  Data collection was carried out by distributing questionnaires. The research location was carried out at SMK Negeri 1 Mandrehe. The population in this study was class XI with the research sample being class XI AKL.  The analysis technique in this research uses the T test which is carried out by comparing the difference in values mean pre test (before treatment) and value post test (after being given treatment). The results of the T test show a significance value of 0.000 ≤ 0.05, which means that career information services for career selection are classified as effective, with a value of mean pre test 62.74 while the value mean post test 99.80 with difference mean amounting to 37,333. So this research shows that career information services influence students' career choices.
