Abstract

Nasheed music is a type of music that is rich in Islamic values conveyed through its lyrics. One of the nasheed groups in Makassar City is the Aligo nasheed group. This group has been active for approximately 16 years and is influential in Makassar City. This research aims to gain an understanding of the cultural inheritance process within the Aligo nasheed group, using the Cavalli Sforza and Feldman cultural inheritance framework and qualitative methods. The research findings indicate that there is a cultural inheritance process in the learning activities conducted by the Aligo nasheed group. This inheritance process occurs horizontally among group members during weekly practice sessions. The exchange of information and nasheed knowledge takes place during these group practice sessions.

Abstract

The increase in global temperature and climate change that has occurred over the past decade is the result of increased CO2 emissions. Several factors such as gross domestic product, population, deforestation, and energy consumption are considered to be the most influential in increasing CO2 emissions. This paper uses panel data analysis to analyze the relationship between economic growth (GDP), population, deforestation, and energy consumption on increasing CO2 emissions in four ASEAN countries (Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam) for the period 2001-2021. The research method used is panel data regression with the Fixed Effect Model (FEM). Using FEM, the results show that partially economic growth (GDP) and energy consumption have a positive effect on CO2 emissions. Meanwhile, population and deforestation have no influence on CO2 emissions. But simultaneously has a confidence level of 98.84% where the variation in the percentage change in CO2 emissions in the four countries in ASEAN is explained by the variables of economic growth (GDP), population, deforestation, and energy consumption by 98.84% and the remaining 1.16% is influenced by other variables outside these variables. Finally, the panel data results show that there is a significance of energy consumption and economic growth in the four ASEAN countries that have implications for CO2 emissions.

Abstract

This research study aims to explore the relationship between listening proficiency and speaking improvement among university students and to identify considerations in assessing speaking and listening skills. The study employed a mixed-methods approach, including both quantitative measures and qualitative interviews, to gather comprehensive data. The findings indicate a significant positive correlation between listening proficiency and speaking improvement, suggesting that developing strong listening skills can contribute to enhanced speaking abilities. Furthermore, the study highlights several key considerations that should be taken to account when assessing speaking and listening in educational contexts. The results of this study have implications for defining the foundations of future research in English teaching methodologies and strategies, and the second language assessment process for speaking and listening skills.

Kungkurung music is a traditional South Kalimantan music made of bamboo and is identical to that of the mountain people. This music is very popular with the Dayak Meratus people of South Kalimantan. This musical instrument is found in rural areas or mountains that are overgrown with bamboo. The problem that will be raised in this study is how the history of kungkurung in the Dayak Meratus community in Piani District, Tapin Regency tho the function of kungkurung music in the Meratus Dayak community in Piani District, Tapin Regency. This study uses a qualitative method with an ethnographic approach which will be carried out in Piani District, Tapin Regency. Data collection techniques through observation, and documentation interviews. While the data analysis techniques include data collection, data reduction, and triangulation. The results of the research on kungkurung music have a history of ritual expulsion of supernatural beings that often disturb the community. The supernatural creature named Dundun ghost. Dundun's ghost often kidnaps small children in the Pipitak Jaya area. These little children always disappear when their parents are away. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the essay test instrument with 11 questions using the Rasch model to measure scientific literacy skills in the matter of Substances, Forms of Substances, and Their Changes. This research is a type of quantitative descriptive research. The research subjects were 84 class VII students at SMP PGRI 1 Ajibarang. The research data were analyzed using the winstep program to obtain a logit value. From the output of the Winsteps program, the results obtained were 9 questions according to the Rasch model with an average ± average Outfit MNSQ for person and item ± 0.98 and 0.98 respectively. Meanwhile, the Outfit ZSTD values for persons and items are ± 0 and -0.01, respectively. While the reliability of the instrument expressed in Cronbach's alpha is 0.95.

Abstract

Character education is education that prioritizes instilling good behavioral values to children carried out by parents. This study aims to analyze the implementation of character education values carried out by the families of Female Workers in Langgudu District, Bima Regency. This research used a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. The research was conducted in Langgudu Subdistrict, Bima Regency with a research focus on the implementation of children's character education values with indicators of discipline education, exemplary education, and advice education. Informant selection technique using purposive sampling technique. Data acquisition was carried out by means of interviews, observations and document studies. The results of this study indicate that the implementation of character education carried out by upper-class, middle-class and lower-class Female Worker Families in terms of exemplary aspects that parents still behave politely in front of children, parents always keep promises and parents get used to reading prayers before eating. Discipline education for children in upper-class families is very concerned, this is evidenced by parents' efforts to regulate and control children's activity time at all times, while in middle-class families, discipline education is not given much attention, then lower-class families, discipline education is not carried out due to the busyness of parents working outside the home. In upper-class families, the application of advice education is carried out strictly. However, it is different for middle-class families, by giving advice in a kind and gentle manner. Meanwhile, in lower-class families, advice education is not carried out regularly because parents are busier working outside the home.

Abstract

Integrated teaching with cultural content has become an interesting issue. However, academic circles have not received much attention regarding the integration of Maluku’s local wisdom in teaching English. Education offers students the best opportunity to get in touch with foreign cultures. However, teaching a foreign language is challenging because teachers not only teach vocabulary and grammar, but teachers also need to teach students how and when to use that language. In other words, learning a language also involves learning about culture. It is important to realize that teaching materials must balance the culture of the target language. It would be useful if it could be used in situations where language is required. One of the things in teaching English that must be considered is material that is relevant to the cultural background of our students because that will make the learning process more meaningful. This paper offers a description of ‘papeda’ as one of Maluku's local wisdom that can be used as teaching material to build students’ character with the principles and moral values from their culture that will prepare them to face the era of globalization. It ends with practical examples and technical guidelines for integrating Maluku’s local wisdom into English teaching materials.

Abstract

This study aims to design a Math Trails-based Hypothetical Learning Trajectory (HLT) to promote students’ numeracy skill. This research uses design research consisting of three stages: (1) preliminary design, (2) teaching experiments, and (3) retrospective analysis. This research is focused on the preliminary design stage. The HLT component consists of learning objectives that are adjusted to numeracy indicators, learning activities using task designs on MathCityMap, and hypothetical learning process that refers to the steps of mathematical modeling process to solve numeracy problems. The results of this study are HLT in the form of 8 task designs that have been designed, reviewed by experts, and revised according to suggestions and received a score of 4,6 out of 5 from experts. For further research, experimental research can be carried out to examine the increase in numeracy skills through this designed HLT.
