Abstract

Full-day school is a school process throughout the day or a teaching and learning process that is enforced from morning to evening. Learning quality at school enhances the success of schools in achieving learning goals. This study aims to determine the implementation of the full-day school system to improve the quality of learning at SDIT Gondang. The type of research used is a type of field research using a qualitative descriptive. Data collection techniques were carried out through interviews, observation, and documentation. Interviews were used to dig for in-depth data about the process of learning activities at SDIT Gondang. Observations are used as data reinforcement. Documentation is used as supporting data related to school profiles. The subjects of this study were school principals, vice principals for curriculum, and class teachers. The method of data analysis was carried out using data reduction analysis and concluding. The results showed that the implementation of full-day school to improve the quality of learning at SDIT Gondang was carried out with good educational planning, curriculum innovation, superior programs, habituation of good things, and extracurricular activities. Educational planning is embodied in the form of the school's vision, mission, and goals. The curriculum innovation used is the integration between the curriculum developed by the Ministry of Education and Culture, the Ministry of Religion, and the Foundation. The superior programs carried out are in the form of giving quizzes before class hours; TPQ/BTQ, tahsin, and tahfidz activities; and additional study hours. Furthermore, various extracurricular activities can be used to develop students' talents and interests.

Abstract

This article intends to show the effectiveness of the use of the NHT method on mathematics achievement in measuring material. The problem in this research is that the mathematics learning achievement of third grade students at Pekalongan Private Elementary School is still low, especially in measurement material, indicated by the average score of mathematics learning achievement of 71.38 (with KKM 75). The purpose of this study was to improve the mathematics learning achievement of class III students of Pekalongan Private Elementary Schools using the Numbered Head Together (NHT) learning method. Through the NHT (Numbered Head Together) learning method, assignments are given to all students where students have been given different numbers in their groups but each group uses the same numbering. Calling student numbers randomly to report the results of group discussions encourages each student individually to take responsibility for their learning outcomes. This research is a class action research using a qualitative descriptive research method, with the type of field research. Data collection techniques using interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis techniques using Miles and Huberman. As a result, of the 12 students before receiving learning with the NHT (Numbered Head Together) method, it can be seen from the three indicators of achievement in learning mathematics (cognitive, affective, psychomotor) that did not show well. After students receive learning with the NHT (Numbered Head Together) method, three indicators (cognitive, affective, psychomotor) show an increase as evidenced by the achievement in learning mathematics, the better the measurement material.

Abstract

Process of instilling character values in elementary school, one must look at the stages of child development and right method. The methods used by teachers to instill character values in students at SDIT Alam Bina Insani is through storytelling. This study aims to describe application of story method in learning to instill character values in SDIT Alam Bina Insani students. describe supporting and inhibiting factors. This type of research is field research, with a descriptive qualitative approach. Collecting data with interview techniques, observation, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the application of story method in learning to instillcharacter values of students at SDIT Alam Bina Insani, namely habit of praying before starting and ending learning, the habit of saying toyyibah sentences when listening to amazing or terrible stories, practicing or reciting direct readings and prayers.The prayers contained in story, as well as emulating commendable attitudes of pious figures. Factors supporting application of story method are sufficient learning resources and media, the teacher's ability to tell stories in an interesting way, comfortable classroom conditions and environments. While inhibiting factors are limited time in telling stories, fast-changing concentration of children, and different learning styles of students.

Abstract

Teacher professional competence includes mastery of the material, understanding of students, educational learning, personal development, and mastery of the material. Critical thinking skills play an important role in the decision-making process to solve problems so it is important for students to have. Based on this background, this study aims to: 1. describe the professional competence of teachers at MI Islamiyah Paweden; 2. describe students' critical thinking skills at MI Islamiyah Paweden; 3. Describe the role of teacher professional competence in students' critical thinking skills at MI Islamiyah Paweden. This type of research is field research. The approach used in this study is a descriptive qualitative approach. Collecting data in this study using the method of observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study show that: 1) teachers at MI Islamiyah Paweden mostly have fulfilled professional competence but have not fully met the criteria; 2) students' critical thinking skills are quite good in solving a problem, the ability to select information, the ability to identify assumptions, the ability to formulate hypotheses, and the ability to draw conclusions; 3) the role of teacher professional competence on students’critical thinking skills through various teaching methods, providing stimulus, and discussion.

Abstract

In the midst of the incessant issue of elementary school mergers due to a shortage of students, it turns out that the primary school in Batang Regency is not lacking in students and even continues to increase both in terms of institutions and students.This study aimsto describe and analyze the shift in the perception of the Batang community towards madrasah ibtidaiyah. Data was collected by in-depth interviews, observation and documentation studies. Data validity test was carried out by triangulation of methods and sources. The results of the study show that the perception of the people of Batang towards madrasah ibtidaiyah tends to shift in a positive direction. They are of the view that Madrasah Ibtidaiyah is no longer a second-class school, but is already on par with elementary schools and even has special advantages. This shift in perception occurred because of public awareness about the importance of religious education for elementary school-age children; increasing the quality of madrasah ibtidaiyah; there is equal opportunity for graduates of primary schools to continue their education; and the hope of parents for their children to have morals and practice religious teachings since childhood.

Abstract

Science learning needs to be packaged in an attractive way so that students are enthusiastic about learning. This study aims to determine the increase in science skills with simple practical methods in class VI MI Al Hikmah Kajen Pati students. This study aims to determine the increase in cognitive learning outcomes and science process skills with simple practical methods in class VI students of MI Al Hikmah Kajen Pati. This study uses quantitative research. Data collection was carried out by conducting a pretest and posttest to students and observations by the observer. Data analysis techniques in this study used descriptive analysis and hypothesis testing. The results showed that the significance value of the WilcoxonTest Table was 0.000 so <0.05, meaning that Hawas accepted. So there is a difference between the learning outcomes of class VI MI Al-Hikmah Kajen Pati students after using a simple practicum.The results of experimental or research findings on science process skills can be seen from the indicators of identification of tools and materials as well as data on the results of experiments students complete with a percentage of 80%, on the indicator of answering and asking questions students complete with a percentage of 62.5%, on the indicator of conveying the results of discussions in a clear, precise and effective students complete with a percentage of 90%, on the indicator of choosing the appropriate theory (reference) students complete with a percentage of 85%.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of applying the game-based learning method to increase interest in learning in class VI Al-Qur'an Hadith at MIS Sidorejo Tirto Pekalongan. The formulation of the problem in this study is as follows: 1) How is the interest in learning in the Al-Qur'an Hadith class VI subject at MIS Sidorejo Tirto Pekalongan before implementing the game-based learning method? 2) How is the implementation of the game-based learning method in class VI Al-Qur'an Hadithat MIS Sidorejo Tirto Pekalongan? 3) What is the effectiveness of applying the game-based learning method to increase interest in learning in class VI Al-Qur'an Hadith at MIS Sidorejo Tirto Pekalongan. This research method is a quantitative type of experiment with research subjects of class VI students at MIS Sidorejo for the 2021–2022 academic year. The total population is 54 students from two classes. Then the researcher used simple random sampling to determine the experimental class and the control class. The result is that the experimental class is VI-A with 27 students, and the control class is VI-B with 27 students. Data was collected using a questionnaire technique and analyzed using an independent sample t-test analysis technique.The results of this study indicate: 1) the application of the game-based learning method shows a result of 62% in the range of 50%–74%, which is included in the good category. 2) Students' interest in learning Al-Qur'an Hadith subjects in the experimental class showed results of 41.7% in the range of 25%–49%, which was included in the pretty good category, while in the control class, results of 50% in the range of 50%–74% were included in the good category. 3) The effectiveness of applying the game-based learning method using an independent sample t-test in SPPS version 26 shows sig. (2-tailed) results of 0.0080.05. This means that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the feasibility of developing interactive powerpoint-based learning multimedia products for integrative thematic learning theme 1 sub-theme 2 class V SD/MI and identify the attractiveness of developing interactive PowerPoint-based learning multimedia products for integrative thematic learningtheme 1 sub-theme 2 class V SD/MI. To achieve the research objectives, researchers used the Research and Development (RnD) method with the Borg and Gall development model at level I. The development steps at level I include: identifying potentials and problems, studying literature and gathering information, product design, design validation and product improvement if needed. Researchers also added one more step to find out the response of students or user experience when using the product. The results of this study obtained: (1) validation test from two material experts an average score of 4.2 with an eligibility percentage of 84.4% in the "very feasible" category, (2) media expert validation test an average score of 4.14 with an eligibility percentage of 82, 8% in the "very feasible" category, and (3) product attractiveness test (user experience) an average score of 4.7 with a feasibility percentage of 94% in the "very feasible or very attractive" category. Overall, this learning multimedia development product is very feasible and very interesting to use. This development product outputs in the form of a ppsx file and contains a quiz in it in the form of an HTML 5 file with the help of the iSpring Suite 10 application which is integrated with Microsoft Powerpoint.

Abstract

Education is one of the driving factors for determining superior human resources for the progress of the nation. The existence of the media will help achieve goals more effectively and efficiently. Thematic learning is an integrated learning that uses a theme as the main focus and provides a meaningful experience for students as a whole. The low interest in students' learning as indicated by the value of students who have not achieved minimum mastery is the background of this research, so thatthe use of audio-visual media is examined for its influence on integrative thematic learning.This study uses a quantitative research approach with a descriptive correlation model and was carried out in February 2020 with a population of 210 students and a sample of 70students. The data collection techniques used observation, interviews, documentation and questionnaires. The results of this study concluded that: 1) the use of audio-visual media in integrative thematic learning was in the good category, with a percentage of 52.86% or 37 students, 2) students' interest in learning in integrative thematic learning was in the good category with a percentage of 48, 57% or 34 students, and 3) The use of audio-visual media has a positive effect on learning interest in integrative thematic learning with r0 = 0.624 greater than r1 at a significant level of 5% (r1 = 6.235) and 1% (r1 = 0.306). Madrasas are expected to learn more often using audio-visual media, especially material that may not be accessible to students' minds. Audio visual media learning can be applied at all grade levels.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to know the ability level of scientific reasoningability of the 6th-semester students in the PGMI study program, IAIN Pekalongan. Scientific reasoning is one of the ability that should be owned by each teacher to be able to familiarize students to find a concept knowledge through how to think as a scientist.This study uses descriptive method. The total sample of this study is 70 students. Students’ scientific reasoningability was measured by test that adapted from Modified Lawson Classroom Test of Scientific Reasoning (MLCTSR). MLCTSR consist of 12 two-tier multiple choice questions. MLCTSR consists of six aspects, i.e., conservation of mass and volume, proportional reasoning, controlling the variable, probabilistic reasoning, correlational reasoning, and hypothetical deductive reasoning. The result of this research shows that the levels of students’ scientific reasoning skills were classified into three categories, i.e., 85,71% concrete operational, 10% transitional operational, and 4.29% formal operational. Scientific reasoning aspect has not understood yet by most of the students was proportional reasoning and controlling variable aspect. As for the aspects that understand well by students was conservation of mass and volume.
