Abstract

Recognizing that English vocabulary often has multiple meanings and is used differently across various fields, vocabulary instruction must be adjusted to meet the specific needs of students and remain relevant to their chosen field of study. Therefore, a teacher should select an appropriate method for teaching vocabulary. This research examines the influence of movie clips on hospitality students' vocabulary mastery. It aims to determine whether the use of movie clips has a significant impact on hospitality students' vocabulary acquisition. Using a quasi-experimental design, this study employed pre-tests and post-tests as data collection techniques. The study was conducted at a Vocational High School in Bandar Lampung, involving 67 hospitality students selected from two classes, XPH 1 and XPH 2. The data was analyzed using a Paired Sample Test. The findings indicate a significant influence of movie clips on hospitality students' vocabulary mastery. The results showed that the Sig. (p-value) was < 0.001, meaning the Sig. (p-value) was less than Sig α = 0.05. This implies that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted.These results reveal that movie clips have a significant influence on students' vocabulary mastery and can serve as an effective medium in the process of teaching and learning vocabulary.

Abstract

The digitization of pesantren education is an effort toward modernization and digital transformation aimed at enhancing the effectiveness of religious learning without eliminating traditional values. This study discusses the implementation of education at Darul Lughah Wal Karomah pesantren through the use of digital technology, the challenges of digitizing pesantren education, and its resulting impacts. Using a qualitative approach, this research combines documentation and interviews with pesantren administrators, teachers, and students, as well as a review of relevant literature. The findings show that the digitization of pesantren education brings many benefits, including easier access to learning materials and greater flexibility in the teaching process. However, it also presents challenges, such as limited human resources and the potential shift in traditional values.

Abstract

This study examines and analyzes the models and strategies in the implementation of character education in elementary schools/ madrasah Ibtidaiyah which aims to develop positive moral, ethical, and personality values in students. This research uses a qualitative approach with a literature study method by collecting sources relevant to the study of this research to be studied systematically from and comparing with character learning models in other countries in order to gain new understanding and findings. The findings of this study are (1) Involving children in social activities that begin with teaching moral values can build empathy and a sense of social responsibility (2) Civic Education learning is the main strength in integrating plural values, tolerance, historical insight, (3) The model that is relevant to the current conditions in the implementation of character education for students in elementary schools / madrasah ibtidaiyah is the exemplary model, (4) Strategies that combine character education learning with technology such as learning videos or educational games that can help students understand character values in a more fun way.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the marketing strategy of laying hens in the development of micro-enterprises, with a case study at Garuda Farm in Ombul Village, Arosbaya District, Bangkalan Regency. A descriptive qualitative method was employed, using data collection techniques such as interviews, observations, and documentation. The findings reveal that Garuda Farm applies a direct marketing strategy by building personal relationships with local consumers. The success of this strategy is influenced by key factors including consistent product quality, friendly customer service, and the provision of high-quality feed to maintain poultry health and productivity. Additionally, the active involvement of the owner in operational activities strengthens the effectiveness of marketing efforts. The study concludes that direct marketing strategies significantly contribute to the development of rural micro-enterprises and offer potential for future market expansion through digital innovation.

Abstract

This article aims to conduct a critical discourse analysis using Teun A. van Dijk's model to examine the lyrics of the song "Cabe-Cabean" by Tjahjadi/Ishak.This analysis reveals how power, ideology, and social structure are contained within the discourse of the song, particularly in relation to gender, materialism, and social norms.This article focuses on the four main components in van Dijk's model, namely social structure, cognitive structure, text structure, and communicative context.By analyzing the song lyrics, this research shows how the song reinforces negative stereotypes about women, depicting them as materialistic and unserious in social relationships.The analysis results show that although this song is entertaining, it subtly reinforces negative ideologies and encourages listeners to be more critical in consuming media.This research contributes to understanding how popular music can serve as a means of disseminating cultural ideology and shaping public perception in contemporary society.

Abstract

This study aims to describe students' mathematical critical thinking ability according to their ability level, namely high, medium, low on the material of worth comparison and inverse value comparison. “This type of research is descriptive qualitative research. The samples in this study were 34 students from class VII C SMP Negeri Parongpong. The subjects of this study were 3 students. Data collection was in the form of written tests and interviews. The results of this study indicate that students at a high level of mathematical critical thinking ability are able to complete 3 indicators of critical thinking ability, namely interpretation, evaluation and inference, while for the analysis indicator students are still confused about how to make the mathematical model. For students' mathematical critical thinking skills at the medium level, they can fulfill 2 indicators of critical thinking skills including interpretation and inference, while for the analysis indicator students have not been able to identify the problem and on the evaluation indicator students lack understanding in using strategies in solving problems”. students with low levels of critical thinking ability, mastery of critical thinking indicators is limited to interpretation. Meanwhile, the indicators of analysis, evaluation, and inference show a low level of understanding, despite the maximum efforts that students have made in answering the questions.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the importance of understanding students’ perceptions of classroom management and learning motivation, as both aspects play a crucial role in achieving educational goals at the senior high school level. The purpose of this research is to develop and examine the construct validity of an instrument designed to measure students’ perceptions of classroom management and learning motivation. The method employed was Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA), applied to data collected through questionnaires distributed to high school students. The analysis revealed seven emerging factors, six of which had significant item loadings. The Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin (KMO) value of 0.58 and a significant Bartlett's test result indicated that the data were suitable for further factor analysis. The identified factors represent various essential dimensions within the context of classroom management and student motivation. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the developed instrument demonstrates adequate construct validity and can serve as a relevant measurement tool in the context of senior high school education.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the marketing strategy of Konveksi Ais Collection via Facebook and WhatsApp and its impact on increasing sales. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data obtained through interviews, observation, and documentation. The results of the study show that marketing through social media is effective in increasing sales. Before using this strategy, sales reach 150–160 products per month, and increased to 200–270 products after digital marketing was implemented. This strategy also has a positive impact on operations and employees.

Abstract

Digital transformation in payment systems is an important strategy in driving the efficiency of economic transactions, especially in the micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) sector. One of the payment system innovations that is growing rapidly in Indonesia is the Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard (QRIS), which is implemented by Bank Indonesia to unify various digital payment systems into one national standard. This study aims to analyze the implementation of QRIS in payment transactions for Coffee Shop business actors in Bangkalan. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with a case study approach to five Coffee Shop business actors in Bangkalan who use QRIS as their main payment method. The results of the study show that the use of QRIS provides significant benefits such as ease of transactions, time efficiency, increased turnover, and transaction security. However, there are obstacles faced by business actors such as technical disruptions, dependence on a stable internet connection, and lack of technical education for business actors and consumers. This study recommends increasing digital literacy education, strengthening internet infrastructure, and technical support from the government and payment system service providers to support the optimization of QRIS implementation in the MSME sector, especially in the Coffee Shop industry.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the increasing use of Fintech E-Wallets among Generation Z university students, which facilitates financial transactions but also has the potential to encourage consumptive behavior, especially when not accompanied by adequate self-control. The purpose of this study is to analyze the influence of Fintech E-Wallet and Self-Control on the consumptive behavior of students in Bangkalan Regency. The method used is a descriptive quantitative approach with survey techniques. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 60 students from three universities, selected using purposive sampling. The data were analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results showed that Fintech E-Wallet has a positive and significant influence on consumptive behavior (significance value = 0.001), while Self-Control has a negative and significant influence on consumptive behavior (significance value = 0.003). Simultaneously, both variables significantly affect consumptive behavior (significance value = 0.000). The conclusion of this study is that the ease of digital access through e-wallets can increase the consumptive tendencies of students, but this can be mitigated through strong self-control, indicating the importance of awareness in managing finances wisely.
