Abstract

Heterogeneous classes present their own challenges in the learning process, where differences in abilities, interests, and learning styles of students require special strategies so that the learning process can be optimum. The aim of  research is to analyze differentiated learning strategies to create a diverse learning space that can be implemented at SD Muhammadiyah 4 Batu. The research was conducted using a descriptive qualitative method with a case study approach. Data analysis through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that the implementation of differentiated learning strategies involves five main aspects, namely physical flexibility, diversity of learning methods, use of various learning resources, creation of an inclusive environment, and utilization of technology. This strategy provides flexibility for students to be able to gain learning experiences according to their individual abilities and needs, and supports the creation of a more inclusive and collaborative learning environment. In addition, this strategy is proven to increase learning motivation and strengthen social interaction between learners in the classroom. Hence, differentiated learning is important in optimizing the learning process in heterogeneous classrooms, supporting learners' academic and social development as a whole.

Abstract

Motorcycle gangs are no longer exclusively associated with male dominance; they have increasingly involved females as well. The actions of female motorcycle gangs have become a growing concern due to their involvement in violent behaviors such as assaults, fights, and illegal street racing. Family functionality plays a crucial role in preventing adolescents from engaging in delinquent behavior, especially among members of female motorcycle gangs. This study aims to examine the relationship between family functionality and juvenile delinquency among female motorcycle gang members. The sample consisted of 40 female motorcycle gang members in Pekanbaru, selected using a saturated sampling technique. Data were collected using two scales: the Family Assessment Device, which was adapted into Indonesian by the researcher through a forward translation technique, and the Self-Reported Delinquency Scale, which had previously been adapted into Indonesian. The results show a significant negative correlation between family functionality and juvenile delinquency among female motorcycle gang members (r = -0.487; p = 0.00; p < 0.01). This indicates that higher family functionality is associated with lower levels of juvenile delinquency among female motorcycle gang members. Conversely, lower family functionality is associated with higher levels of delinquency in this group.

Abstract

The rising phenomenon of alcohol consumption among rural adolescents poses a serious challenge with wide-ranging impacts on the social, moral, and health aspects of society. This study aims to describe the role of religious scholars (ulama) in preventing alcohol abuse among teenagers in Sumberagung Village, Sumbermanjing Wetan District. This research employs a qualitative approach with a case study method, in which data were obtained through in-depth interviews with five local ulama. The findings indicate that ulama play a strategic role through various religious activities, such as regular Quranic study groups at the neighborhood level (RT/RW), Friday sermons, the establishment of majelis taklim (religious gatherings focused on selawat), and youth empowerment through martial arts training. These efforts have positively influenced the character development and religious awareness of adolescents, although challenges remain, such as environmental factors, family dynamics, and weak supervision of alcohol distribution. This study recommends strengthening collaboration between ulama, families, village governments, and educational institutions to create a supportive environment for the healthy and religious growth of youth.

Abstract

The study aims to provide a philosophical foundation for character education development in Indonesia, advocating for a value-based curriculum that fosters integrity in students. This study explores the integration of the value of honesty into the educational curriculum through a philosophical framework involving ontology, epistemology, and axiology. Honesty as a central tenet in Islamic teachings and character education, faces significant challenges in its implementation in the modern era, particularly with the pervasive influence of digital culture and the weakening of moral awareness. Employing a qualitative approach, this research utilizes a literature review to examine various sources related to education and philosophy. The findings suggest that the integration of honesty should not be limited to teaching materials but must permeate school culture through role modeling by educators and the habitual practice of honest behavior. A curriculum emphasizing honesty can contribute to producing individuals who are intellectually competent and morally upright.

Abstract

This study examines the dominance of cognitive approaches in early primary education (grades 1–3), which often neglect essential dimensions such as emotional, social, moral, and spiritual development. Using a literature review method, this research explores child development theories (Piaget, Erikson, Vygotsky), multiple intelligences (Gardner), emotional intelligence (Goleman), and Islamic psychological perspectives from the thoughts of Al-Ghazali and Al-Attas. The findings indicate that an education system overly focused on academic achievement fails to accommodate children’s diverse potentials. Islamic education emphasizes a balance between intellect (‘aql), heart (qalb), and actions (‘amal). Therefore, a holistic, contextual, and spiritually grounded approach to early education is necessary. This study recommends curriculum reorientation, authentic assessment, teacher training, and parental involvement as key foundations for balanced child development and character formation.
