Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of using Wordwall as a learning medium on the vocabulary mastery of seventh-grade students. This study used a quasi-experimental design with a nonequivalent control group design, involving an experimental class and a control class. Data were collected through pre-test and post-test. The results showed an increase in vocabulary scores in both classes, but the increase in the experimental class was greater. The test results showed a significant difference between the experimental and control classes, with a p-value of 0.033 < 0.05. Effect size analysis showed a Partial Eta Squared value of 0.114, which is included in the moderate effect category. Thus, it can be concluded that the use of Wordwall as a learning medium has a significant effect on seventh-grade students' vocabulary mastery.

Abstract

This article examines the relevance of shura values in Islamic leadership within the context of Pancasila Democracy in contemporary Indonesia. The study employs a qualitative approach using a normative-empirical method through a literature review of Islamic sources, academic literature, and empirical data related to Indonesia’s political dynamics during the 2019–2024 period. The findings indicate that shura is a fundamental principle of Islamic leadership, grounded in the values of consultation, justice, trustworthiness (amanah), and accountability. Empirical evidence reveals that political leadership in Indonesia continues to face various challenges, including the instrumentalization of religion in politics, integrity crises resulting from corruption practices, and the weakening of public deliberative culture in the digital era. The study further identifies a strong alignment between the principles of shura and the values of Pancasila Democracy, particularly the fourth principle of Pancasila, which emphasizes deliberation and representative decision-making. Based on these findings, the study proposes an integrative leadership model founded on four key pillars: amanah (trustworthiness), shura (consultation), justice, and exemplary leadership. This model is expected to serve as an alternative framework for strengthening the quality of national leadership and promoting a more inclusive, ethical, and public-oriented democracy in support of Indonesia Emas 2045. The study contributes to the discourse on Islamic political thought and democratic governance by demonstrating the compatibility between Islamic leadership values and Indonesia’s democratic principles.

Abstract

Moral decline in the modern era is reflected in the weakening of moral conduct, the increasing prevalence of deviant behaviors, the misuse of social media, and the declining level of religious awareness among students. This issue is significant because previous studies have largely positioned Islamic education as a normative subject matter rather than as a comprehensive moral development system that encompasses family, school, community, and digital environments. This study seeks to examine the role of Islamic education in addressing moral decline in the modern era and to analyze its practical contributions to the moral development of students. The study employed a literature review approach by examining Indonesian journals, scholarly articles, and books on Islamic education. The collected data were analyzed using a descriptive-critical method focusing on themes related to moral decline, moral character (akhlaq), and strategies for strengthening Islamic education. The findings reveal that Islamic education functions as a preventive safeguard against moral degradation, a medium for value internalization, a mechanism for character habituation, a source of teacher role modeling, a means of strengthening family involvement, and a framework for promoting Islamic digital literacy. The study concludes that Islamic education can effectively address moral decline when the values of faith (iman), knowledge (ilm), worship (ibadah), and moral character (akhlaq) are consistently integrated into students’ daily lives through structured, purposeful, and sustainable educational practices. Therefore, Islamic education should be implemented as a holistic and continuous process involving collaboration among educational institutions, families, communities, and digital learning environments.

Abstract

The digital era presents increasingly complex ethical challenges for students, particularly due to the abundance of unfiltered information, the rapid development of instant culture, and the weakening of social supervision in everyday life. Character education has become an essential approach to equipping young generations with strong moral principles to navigate these changes. This study aims to explore the role of character education in strengthening students’ moral resilience and to identify the challenges encountered in its implementation within educational settings. This research employed a literature review method to examine various scholarly sources related to character development in the digital era. The findings indicate that character education contributes to the enhancement of students’ critical thinking skills, integrity, responsibility, and discipline in responding to digital content. However, the implementation of character education faces several obstacles, including the lack of positive role models, limited collaboration between schools and parents, and insufficient technological competencies among educators. Therefore, a comprehensive approach is required to integrate moral values into digital learning environments, improve teachers’ professional capacities, and strengthen partnerships among schools, families, and communities. Character education is thus expected to serve as an effective solution for fostering morally responsible and ethically grounded generations amid the moral challenges of the digital era.

Abstract

This study analyzes the construction of the Creature's character in Mary Shelley's Frankenstein (1831) through Gérard Genette's narratology and Jacques Derrida's deconstruction. The main problems addressed are: (1) how is the portrayal of the Creature constructed through Victor Frankenstein's narrative?; and (2) how can this portrayal be deconstructed to challenge identity boundaries within the text? Using a qualitative descriptive method with close reading techniques, this research examines textual evidence from the 1831 edition of Frankenstein. The findings demonstrate that the Creature's monstrosity is not an absolute truth but an unstable subjective perspective constructed through narrative authority. Through deconstructive reading, contradictions emerge between Victor's claims and the Creature's self-narrative, proving that identity in the novel is contestative and open to reinterpretation. The final conclusion reveals that the 'monster' label is not an inherent trait of the Creature but a discursive mask created by Victor to conceal his own irresponsibility as a creator. By amplifying the Creature's voice, this study proves that the boundaries between human and monster are thin and fragile, showing that the creator can be more 'monstrous' than the being he created.

Abstract

This study examines the innovation of population administration services through the BERKAT program (Bereavement Visit-Based Death Certificate Delivery) in Sukoharjo Village, Probolinggo City. This program emerged as a response to the low public awareness in processing death certificates and the limitations of conventional service patterns that were considered less responsive to the socio-emotional conditions of the community. This study employed a descriptive qualitative method with data collected through participatory observation, semi-structured in-depth interviews, and documentation. Informants were selected purposively according to the needs of the study. The analysis was conducted using Rogers' diffusion of innovation theory, encompassing five dimensions: relative advantage, compatibility, complexity, trialability, and observability. The results indicate that the BERKAT program has significant relative advantage through an integrated one-stop service system and a proactive home-visit approach to bereaved families. The program is considered compatible with community needs, has a manageable level of complexity, is easy to trial, and its benefits are directly observable by the public. Successful implementation is supported by solid cooperation among stakeholders and human resources that are both technically competent and empathetic. Obstacles encountered include limitations in information technology infrastructure and the number of staff on the internal side, as well as low public awareness and incomplete required documents on the external side. This study confirms that public service innovation that combines administrative efficiency with social empathy values proves more effective in addressing the real needs of the community, particularly at the village administrative level.

Abstract

Aimed to explore students' experience in using Artificial Intelligence (AI), particularly Stimuler, as a speaking partner in practicing conversation using English. The study is grounded in the limited opportunities for speaking practice, such as the low confidence and anxiety commonly experienced by EFL students. This study employed a qualitative descriptive method involving four students who were selected through purposive sampling from various majors. The data from this study were collected through semi-structured interviews and analyzed using thematic analysis. The study shows that using AI, specifically Stimuler, as a speaking partner offers several benefits, as reflected in the themes: AI as a Safe and Low-Anxiety Speaking Environment, Enhancing Students' Speaking Development, and Flexibility and Accessibility of AI-Based Learning. However, there are also limitations, especially in natural interaction and its limitations in replacing humans in conversation. All in all, it shows that Stimuler can be an effective speaking partner for some students to improve their speaking skills, by creating a practice space that is flexible and less pressurizing.

Abstract

This study investigates the effectiveness of fruit-themed animated video media in improving English vocabulary mastery among Grade I B students at SD Islam Bunayya. Employing a pre-experimental approach with a One Group Pretest-Posttest Design, this research involved 25 students selected through purposive sampling. Prior to implementation, the vocabulary test instrument underwent a tryout procedure in a separate class to ensure its validity and reliability. Data were analyzed using a paired sample t-test and normalized N-Gain calculations. The findings revealed that the students' mean pretest score of 76.84 increased significantly to 90.44 in the posttest, reflecting a mean gain of 13.60 points. The average N-Gain value was approximately 0.73 (73%), which falls within the high category according to Hake's criteria. The obtained t-count value substantially exceeded the t-table value at the 5% significance level (α = 0.05), leading to the acceptance of the research hypothesis. These results provide strong empirical evidence that fruit-themed animated video media is effective in enhancing English vocabulary mastery among early elementary school students. The implications of this study support the broader integration of visual media technology into English language instruction for young learners in the Indonesian primary school context.

Abstract

Multicultural Islamic education represents an educational paradigm that integrates the normative values of Islam with the essential recognition of cultural, ethnic, and social diversity within society (Zulkarnain et al., 2026; Mashuri et al., 2025). In the sociological context of Indonesia’s pluralistic society, this approach serves as a strategic instrument for fostering students’ character development toward tolerance, moderation, and inclusivity (Takunas et al., 2024; Subhi, 2022). Using a library research method combined with content analysis of recent scholarly literature (Snyder, 2019; Zed, 2014), the findings reveal that multicultural Islamic education extends beyond the mere transmission of religious doctrines; it plays a crucial role as an agent for cultivating harmonious national character (Fahri & Zainuri, 2023; Zulkarnain et al., 2026). Therefore, the effective implementation of this educational approach requires a comprehensive and systemic integration, including the reconstruction of an inclusivity-oriented curriculum, the strengthening of teachers’ pedagogical role modeling as agents of religious moderation, institutional policy support, and the creation of a school ecosystem that promotes universal humanitarian values (Mashuri et al., 2025; Takunas et al., 2024).
