Abstract

In remote Indonesian islands with scarce doctors, nurses often perform physician-level medical procedures to maintain urgent patient care. These necessary actions expose them to legal risks if viewed as exceeding their authority. This study examines legal protection and accountability for nurses undertaking such tasks under government duties at a regional general hospital in a remote island setting. The research maps existing legal safeguards for nurses and the forms of responsibility they hold under Indonesian law. A qualitative study combined normative legal analysis with empirical field data from all thirty-six nurses, using questionnaires, interviews, observations, and document review. Descriptive analysis contrasted legal standards with actual practice. Nurses show reasonable awareness of basic legal foundations and hospital tools like standard operating procedures and delegated authority. However, delegation is frequently undocumented, competency checks are irregular, and understanding of dispute safeguards is limited. Accountability is well-defined across administrative, civil, and criminal levels, yet practical administrative support remains inconsistent. Stronger regional policies, regular legal training, mandatory written delegations, and accessible legal assistance are urgently needed to reduce vulnerability, build confidence, and ensure safer, more equitable healthcare in isolated areas.

Abstract

The highly competitive telecommunications industry poses customer retention challenges, due to price wars lowering average revenue per user, limited marketing of premium products, and network instability affecting digital experiences. This study examines the effects of price, brand image, and product quality on customer satisfaction and value within a single integrated model. A quantitative survey of customers was conducted, with data analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The data analysis results indicate that the price variable does not have a significant effect on either customer satisfaction or customer value. In contrast, the brand image variable shows a strong positive effect on both customer satisfaction and customer value. Product quality is found to be the most dominant predictor of customer value directly, although it does not have a significant effect on customer satisfaction. Customer satisfaction mediates the effect of price on value, whereas its mediation for brand image and product quality is not significant. These findings suggest that enhancing product quality, strengthening brand image, and optimizing pricing can effectively increase customer satisfaction and customer value. This study provides both theoretical and managerial insights for improving customer value in the telecommunications industry.

Abstract

The integration of Islamic ethics with 21st-century competencies is essential to strengthen the relevance of Islamic religious education in responding to contemporary educational challenges. This study aims to describe the implementation of Islamic ethics and 4C competencies integration in PAI learning. A mixed-methods sequential explanatory design was employed. Quantitative data were collected through a four-point Likert-scale questionnaire administered to 24 students to measure five integrated indicators, namely, critical thinking based on Islamic justice, creativity with value (maslahah), trustworthy collaboration, civilized communication, and ethical decision making, as well as student learning engagement. Qualitative data were obtained through semi-structured interviews, classroom observations, and document analysis involving PAI teachers and selected students. The findings indicate high achievement in trustworthy collaboration and civilized communication, along with a strong linkage between analytical skills and moral principles in critical thinking and ethical decision-making. Creativity with value and affective engagement were relatively lower, suggesting limited innovation and learning variation. The integration of Islamic ethics and 21st-century competencies enhances students’ cognitive, affective, and social development. This study implies the need for project-based learning, interactive media, and broader school–community collaboration to strengthen meaningful and contextual PAI learning.

Abstract

Parents of children with special needs face complex psychological stressors that can challenge their resilience and well-being. Understanding the factors that enhance parental psychological hardiness is crucial for designing effective support strategies. This study aimed to examine the simultaneous influence of spiritual well-being, social support, and gratitude on the hardiness of parents with special needs children. A cross-sectional quantitative design was employed, involving 120 parents of children with special needs. Data were collected using validated instruments to assess spiritual well-being, social support, gratitude, and hardiness, and analyzed through multiple linear regression. The results indicate that all three factors significantly contribute to parental hardiness, with gratitude emerging as the strongest predictor, followed by spiritual well-being and social support. These findings highlight that hardiness is shaped by the interaction of internal strengths, such as emotional regulation and meaning-making, and external resources, including social and community support. The study underscores the importance of holistic interventions that integrate gratitude practices, spiritual reflection, and the reinforcement of social support networks to strengthen psychological hardiness among parents caring for children with special needs.

Abstract

The development of digital payment systems has encouraged micro-enterprises to adopt non-cash transaction methods that offer greater efficiency. This study aims to examine the effect of QRIS usage on transaction efficiency from the perspective of micro-enterprises in the culinary sector in Kendari City. The study employs a quantitative explanatory approach using a survey method involving 84 micro-enterprise owners who have used QRIS for at least six months. Data were collected through structured questionnaires and analyzed using simple linear regression. The results indicate that QRIS usage has a positive and significant effect on transaction efficiency. Increased utilization of QRIS is proven to accelerate transaction processes, reduce operational costs associated with cash handling, and improve the accuracy of financial record-keeping. The coefficient of determination shows that QRIS usage explains a substantial proportion of the variance in transaction efficiency. These findings highlight that QRIS functions not only as a digital payment instrument but also as a mechanism to enhance operational efficiency among micro-enterprises in the culinary sector. This study provides empirical evidence that enriches the literature on digital payment systems in the context of micro-enterprises, particularly in Eastern Indonesia, and offers practical insights for business actors and policymakers in promoting payment system digitalization.

Abstract

This study examines the existence of women legislators in the Palu City Regional People’s Representative Council (DPRD), which remains a crucial issue in local democracy practices despite the normative guarantee of gender equality. This study aims to examine the presence of female legislators in the Palu City DPRD, in terms of representation, political roles, and the structural and cultural challenges they face. The study uses a descriptive qualitative method with a sociological and phenomenological approach, through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies of DPRD members, institutional leaders, and relevant institutional documents. The results show that Palu City has the potential socially, demographically, and in human resources for women’s involvement in politics, but this potential has not been optimally realized. Women’s representation in the Palu City DPRD remains low, access to strategic commissions is limited, and there are no women in the leadership structure, so women’s participation tends to be symbolic. The findings reveal that patriarchal culture, weak political party support, and limited strategic positions hinder the substantive role of women legislators. Therefore, strengthening affirmative policies, transforming political culture, and enhancing institutional capacity are essential to enable women legislators to promote fair and gender-responsive public policies more effectively.

Abstract

Distance education has expanded rapidly with the increasing use of digital technologies. It often presents challenges related to learner engagement, interaction, and the development of practical competencies. Integrating scientific workshops and ergonomic learning design may provide a more interactive and supportive learning environment. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of integrating scientific workshops into distance education to enhance students’ competencies, particularly in supporting the preparation of final research projects. A mixed-methods approach was employed, combining descriptive quantitative analysis with qualitative insights from semi-structured interviews. The study involved 197 participants and data were collected using structured questionnaires and follow-up interviews with selected informants. The quantitative results show that 91.3% of participants gained new knowledge related to TAPM and TAPD, 98.9% reported that the materials supported their final project writing, and 99.5% found the practical training in research tools and output interpretation beneficial. Qualitative findings further indicate that the workshops improved participants’ understanding of research methods and fostered collaborative learning, although some participants experienced difficulties in independently applying the research tools. These findings suggest that integrating scientific workshops with ergo-iconic instructional design can improve engagement, strengthen research competencies, and support more effective learning experiences in distance education environments.

Abstract

This study examines the growing role of generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) in advertising, particularly as AI-generated content becomes increasingly embedded in everyday digital consumption. While prior research has produced mixed findings regarding consumer responses to AI-generated advertisements, the underlying psychological mechanisms driving acceptance remain insufficiently understood. Accordingly, this study aims to investigate how visual characteristics of AI-generated advertisements influence consumer acceptance through perceived intelligence. A quantitative survey was conducted among 415 respondents in Yogyakarta who had prior exposure to AI-generated advertisements. The study analyzes the effects of perceived realism, vitality, imagination, and synthesis on perceived intelligence, as well as its subsequent impact on willingness to accept. Data were analyzed using factor analysis and hypothesis testing. The findings reveal that perceived realism, vitality, and especially imagination positively influence perceived intelligence, with imagination emerging as the strongest predictor. Contrary to expectations, synthesis also shows a positive effect. Furthermore, perceived intelligence significantly enhances willingness to accept AI-generated advertising. In conclusion, consumer acceptance is driven not only by technological novelty but by the perceived quality, creativity, and coherence of AI-generated content.

Abstract

This study investigates the role of compensation in enhancing employee performance at MSME X, a traditional culinary business in Sleman, Yogyakarta. Although Indonesian MSMEs contribute significantly to employment and regional growth, many face human resource management challenges, particularly ineffective compensation systems. The study aims to analyze how compensation is perceived and implemented to improve performance. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews with five purposively selected informants, consisting of the owner or manager, the human resources department, the production supervisor, the operations supervisor, and frontliner staff, analyzed using the Miles and Huberman method, and validated through triangulation. Findings show that compensation is viewed as a direct consequence of performance, aligned with Vroom’s Expectancy Theory, implemented through monthly KPIs. KPI-based incentives and overtime bonuses are considered most effective, complemented by base salary, attendance allowances, and accommodation facilities functioning as Herzberg hygiene factors, although overtime practices remain not fully compliant. The study validates Vroom and Herzberg’s theories in the Indonesian culinary MSMEs context and suggests structured KPIs, hourly overtime schemes, phased BPJS implementation, and sales training to enhance retention and competitiveness.

Abstract

The increasing reliance on accounting standards as regulatory instruments has expanded the legal responsibilities of business actors and independent auditors. PSAK 115 adopts a contract-based approach to revenue recognition, making contractual clarity a prerequisite for regulatory compliance. This article examines the integration between contract law principles and accounting standards from a normative legal perspective, emphasizing the professional responsibility of independent auditors to understand business law, civil law, and potential criminal law implications. Using a normative juridical method with statutory and conceptual approaches, this study finds that deficiencies in contract design not only impair revenue recognition under PSAK 115 but also expose companies and auditors to significant legal risks. The article argues that legal certainty in financial reporting requires synergy between contract law and accounting regulation, supported by auditors who possess adequate legal awareness. Such integration is essential to minimize disputes, prevent allegations of misrepresentation or fraud, and strengthen legal compliance in corporate governance.
