Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyze the priority of the right marketing mix decision in the fan-fried banana agro-industry Kuantan-II. The research method for drawing samples was carried out by using purposive sampling technique. The data analysis method to analyze the priority of the marketing mix uses the AHP (Analytical Hierarchy Process) method manually using Excel software. From the results of the priority research analysis of the Marketing Mix (Marketing Mix) in the Kuantan-II Fan Fried Banana agro-industry, it is known that: Producers or Business Actors of Kipas Kuantan-II Fried Banana must innovate because it produces the highest weight (0,522), the Marketing Mix that must be done Producers prioritize products with the highest weight (0,361), compared to Price with a weight (0,310), Promotion with a weight (0,166), and Distribution with a weight (0,161). The sub-mix on product variables that must be considered by producers or business actors is product quality with the highest weight (0,477). Business actors should innovate on their products, considering the increasingly fierce competition at this time. Innovations such as starting to penetrate into e-commerce will make the reach of consumers wider in the current era of digitalization. In addition, business actors must maintain the quality of their products so that consumers always trust and do not switch to similar competitors. In the promotion variable, business  actors should promote their company without always involving other agencies. Although promotion is the third priority in the marketing mix variable, business actors must continue to carry out promotions because with the existence of "promotions" old or new products can be known or known by consumers, especially consumers in the Pekanbaru area.

Abstract

Hydroponic lettuce is one type of plant that is widely developed today by farmers to be used as a farm for the community, especially for millennials. Hydroponics is a way of farming that is again up to date in the midst of the current Covid-19 pandemic because it is not difficult to cultivate and can provide benefits for farmers.  The purpose of the research was to determine the feasibility of hydroponic lettuce farming during the Covid-19 pandemic. The research was conducted in Kolaka Regency with a population of 19 hydroponic lettuce farmers. Business analysis that will be used in this study is income analysis (?), Business Ratio (R/C), Payback Period (PBP) and Break Even Point (BEP).  The research was conducted in Kolaka Regency with a population of 19 hydroponic lettuce farmers. The results of the analysis of the feasibility of hydroponic lettuce farming during the Covid-19 pandemic are known to be profitable because the value of R/C>1 of 3.43 this indicates that the farm is profitable with the average income of hydroponic lettuce farming businesses already above the Kolaka District UMK of Rp. 2,502,500, from the results of the analysis PBP obtained a figure of 0.3 years to return the investment of mangrove crab business takes about 3.6 months and to reach the break-even point (BEP) obtained a minimum gross receipt of Rp. 840,349.3 this means that the hydroponic lettuce farming during the Covid-19 pandemic is worth trying.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the income of ginger farming and to analyze the production risk and the risk of ginger farming income in Kubu Raya Regency. The research was conducted by survey based on qualitative descriptive method, data was taken directly using cross-sectional data. The selection of the research location was carried out purposively (deliberately) at the location of the horticultural farmer group. The research location is a farmer group in Teluk Empening Village, Terentang District, Kubu Raya Regency. The number of respondents as many as 131 members, are all members of the Empening Mandiri Gapoktan which consists of 6 groups from 15 existing farmer groups. The results of the study found several farming risks, consisting of income risk of 13% followed by production risk of 10.5% and price risk of 1.8%. The value of the coefficient of variation is less than 0.5, meaning that farmers are protected from the risk of loss and the RC ratio of 3.45 means that ginger farming is profitable to cultivate. The reality in the field is that the demand for fresh ginger is always increasing and production has not been fulfilled so that ginger farming is considered to be in accordance with farmers' expectations and is feasible to be developed.

Abstract

One of the global problems that has a huge impact on the socio-economic conditions of the country, particulary on food security, is climate change. The El Nino Southern Oscillation (ENSO) is a climatic change phenomenon in Indonesia that has three phases: El Nino, La Nina, and Normal. Phenomenon has an impact on rainfall intensity, which bring another impact on the agricultural sector, food crops. This study examines the impact of climate change and other determinants on the production food commodities such as rice, corn, and soybean using the static panel data method. The cross section data focuses on the provinces on the island of Java which became the production center for rice, corn, and soybean, as well as four other provinces with the highest production for the three commodities mentioned. Time series data is used from 2009 to 2017. The results show that El Nino has a significant effect on decreasing rice and corn production and increasing soybean production. La Nina has a significant effect on increasing the production of the three commodities studied. Fertilizer subsidy has a significant effect on increasing the production of the three commodities studied meanwhile productivity significantly impact rice and corn productions.

Abstract

Consumer knowledge builds a consumer perception. This perception can influence consumer preferences and behavior. Previous research has explained the relationship between consumer knowledge and consumption, primarily focusing on product knowledge. In contrast, consumer knowledge is not only about products knowledge but also purchasing and usage knowledge. This study aims to identify consumer knowledge about the product, purchase, and usage of fresh cow milk and analyze its relationship with the level of consumption of fresh milk. Consumer product knowledge variables are differences and benefits of the product. Consumer purchasing knowledge variables are price and place of purchasing. Consumer usage knowledge variables are storage and post-storage processing. Consumer knowledge level was analyzed using the quantitative descriptive method, and the relationship between knowledge and consumption level was analyzed using Chi-square analysis. This study explains that consumers have excellent purchasing knowledge, followed by product knowledge and usage knowledge. It means that increasing consumer knowledge is needed to increase the product, purchasing, and usage knowledge. This study also explains that fresh cow milk consumption depends on consumer product knowledge.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has impacted on various economic sectors, one of which is the agricultural sector. This important role of the agricultural sector often ignores the socio-economic conditions of the farmer's household. This research aims to analyze the degree of food security of farmer households during of the Covid-19 pandemic. The method used is the descriptive quantitative method using income and expenditure variables of farmers' households in the last month. The results showed that calculation of the structure of the household income of farmers is dominated by the structure of income from farming by 82.63 %, while the rest comes from non-farming by 17.37 %. Then for the expenditure structure of farmer households, non-food expenditures are greater than food expenditures, which is 59 % compared to food expenditures of 41 %. This gives an understanding that farmers' income is quite high and tends to spend their income to meet needs outside of food (non-food). By using indicators of food security, namely the level of food subsistence and the share of food expenditure, then farmer households in Kebasen District, Banyumas Regency are classified as high or food Unresistant during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Abstract

Chicken eggs are one of the primary sources of protein for people in West Sumatra. The level of consumption continues to increase every year, while the availability of broiler eggs is not stable. This condition illustrates the problems faced by consumers and producers, namely price instability. Market integration is a metric that demonstrates how price changes in the reference market affect price changes in the follower market. The objective of this research is to examine the price variation and market integration of broiler eggs in West Sumatra. Coefficient of variation analysis is used to examine price variation, while cointegration analysis with the Vector Autoregression (VAR)/Vector Error Correction Model (VECM) model is used to investigate market integration. The variations coefficient analysis shows that the price of chicken eggs on the market is relatively more stable than that of the consumer market. The results of the integration analysis show that there is no integration between the market for broiler eggs at the producer and consumer levels, both in the long and short term. This is due to the information asymmetry between the two markets.
