Abstract

Resilience is the ability that a person uses to develop and adapt to the problems that arise in his life. This ability can be developed and trained. Resilience can be possessed by individuals who have experienced dating violence and resilience is considered a person's ability to solve past problems and open a new page in his life. Violence is the act of a person or group of people that causes injury or death to another person or causes physical or property damage to another person. In this study, violence was perpetrated by the ex-boyfriend of the victim of violence and the purpose of this study was to see how resilience is described in survivors of violence during dating. The method used is a qualitative research method using a phenomenological approach and using deductive analysis. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling. The informants in this study were two women who had experienced violence during dating. Each individual has a different experience of dating violence, so each has a different experience of resilience. The results of this study are that each informant shows a resilience experience that allows them to survive until now.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between self-adjustment, peer social support and student well-being in Students of the Vocational Shipping Faculty, Hang Tuah University. The research method used is quantitative. The analysis used is Pearson Correlation and multiple correlation. The sampling technique in this study is saturated sampling technique. Data collection was carried out with 3 (three) scales. Student well-being scale (α=0.967), self-adjustment scale (α=0.835) and peer social support scale (α=0.936) with 180 student respondents. The results showed that the hypothesis was accepted, which means that there is a relationship between self- adjustment and peer social support with student well-being in students of the Vocational Shipping Faculty, Hang Tuah University (sig 0.000 is less than 0.05). There is a relationship between self-adjustment and student well-being (sig. 000 is less than 0.05) with an effective contribution of 43.4%. There is a relationship between peer social support and student well-being (sig .000 is less than 0.05) with an effective contribution of 42.3%.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between family social support and motivation with adherence to treatment of type II diabetes mellitus (DM) patients in the work area of PUSKESMAS X Gresik. This study used a quantitative approach survey method with the study subjects totaling 72 type II diabetes mellitus (DM) patients. The sampling technique uses accidental sampling. Analysis of data used for product moment and multiple correlation with the help of SPSS version 25. The research scale consisted of a treatment compliance scale of 14 sahih aitems (α=0.889), a family social support scale of 16 sahih aitems (α=0.931), and a motivation scale of 12 sahih aitems (α=0.859). The major hypothesis obtained a correlation coefficient value of 0.927 which means it is greater than the table R at N=72 with a significant level of 5% which is 0.192 (0.927 is more than 0.192) then there is a significant positive relationship between family social support and motivation with adherence to treatment, the effective contribution value of 27.2%. The first minor hypothesis was accepted with a correlation coefficient value of 0.243 and a significant level of 0.040 is less than 0.05, which means that there is a significant positive relationship between family social support and adherence to treatment. The second minor hypothesis is accepted with a correlation coefficient value of 0.428 and a significant level of 0.000 is less than 0.05, which means that there is a significant positive relationship between motivation and adherence to treatment.

Abstract

Employee performance is a very important part, because it is evident that every company wants employees to work seriously according to their abilities to achieve good work results. The purpose of this study was to determine the influence of leadership on employee performance at PT. X Surabaya, the effect of job satisfaction on employee performance at PT. X Surabaya, and the influence of leadership and job satisfaction together on employee performance at PT. X Surabaya. This study uses a quantitative approach to the type of causality research and data collection in the form of a survey. The psychological measurement tool uses 3 scales, namely the employee performance scale, the leadership scale and the job satisfaction scale. The population in this study amounted to 85 employees. The sampling technique in this study was non-probability sampling using saturated sampling techniques. The results of this study indicate that 1) there is an influence of leadership on employee performance at PT. X Surabaya by contributing 49.5%. 2) there is an effect of job satisfaction on employee performance at PT. X Surabaya by contributing 48.2%. 3) there is an influence of leadership and job satisfaction together on employee performance by contributing 58.2%.

Abstract

Abstract. Visual impairment defined as an individual whose senses of sight cannot function properly as a channel for obtaining visual information. Visually impaired persons, including visually impaired adolescents, must continue to fulfil their developmental tasks and carry out activities as normal individuals. Therefore, one of the important internal factors in influencing individual personality is needed, namely self-esteem. This study aimed to determine (a) the categorization of self-esteem levels among visually impaired adolescents in Bali and (b) the influence of sociodemographic variables: gender, visual condition, age of onset, stage of developmental age, level of education, and socioeconomic status. The subjects in this study were 64 visually impaired adolescents, aged 10 to 22 years in Bali. This research was a descriptive quantitative study with a self-esteem scale. The results showed that the majority of participants, as many as 39 people, had high levels of self-esteem and all sociodemographic variables analyzed in this study had no significant effect on self-esteem (p > 0.05). The results of this research are expected to provide theoretical knowledge of psychology as well as practical knowledge for related parties such as visually impaired adolescents, parents, and educational institutions in effort to form and increase self-esteem in visually impaired adolescents.

Abstract

Abstract. The Covid-19 pandemic has had an impact on education, causing a switch from conventional learning to distance (online) learning. This change in the learning model has put special pressure on teachers, especially kindergarten teachers. This research aimed to examine the relationship between social support and psychological well-being in kindergarten teachers during the Covid-19 pandemic. Research respondents were kindergarten teachers (N = 85) in Surabaya selected using purposive sampling techniques. The scales used were the social support scale and psychological well-being scale compiled by the researchers. The research results showed a positive relationship between social support and psychological well-being in kindergarten teachers during the Covid-19 pandemic. The other results showed that the higher the social support from colleagues, the higher the psychological well-being of kindergarten teachers.

Abstract

Abstract. Adolescence is a transitional period between childhood and adulthood. During this time, the development of self-esteem is critical as it can have a significant impact on future growth. This phase is not exclusive to adolescents with dyslexia, who tend to have lower self-esteem, which indicates the importance of identifying factors of self-esteem in adolescents with dyslexia. This study aims to identify the protective and risk factors that affect the self-esteem of dyslexic adolescents. The study utilized qualitative methods and employed a case study approach. The research was based on the experiences of two participants who were siblings with dyslexia disorder and came from different family backgrounds. The analytical technique used was inductive thematic analysis. The results showed a number of protective factors such as positive family relationship, positive parenting, personality and self-reflection, good academic performance, academic support, and positive relationship with as it peers, and risk factors such as poor family relationship, negative parenting, poor academic performance, academic difficulties, poor relationship with peers, and negative self-acceptance. The most significant factor impacting adolescents with dyslexia is their family relationships and the parenting models implemented.

Abstract

Abstract. This study aimed to determine the relationship between social support and resilience in early adult survivors of Covid-19 in Surabaya. The research method used was the quantitative method. The participants of this study amounted to 110, aged 18-40 years, were COVID-19 survivors, and lived in Surabaya. Participants were selected using a purposive sampling technique. The research instruments used were the social support scale and the resilience scale. Data were analyzed with Kendall's Tau-B non-parametric correlation test. The results showed a relationship between social support and resilience in early adult survivors of COVID-19 in Surabaya with a correlation coefficient of 0.654. The study's results can be used as the basis for intervention design.

Abstract

Abstract. Companies need support of employees who are reliable and and demonstrate commitment to their work so that the company's vision and mission can be achieved. One way to achieve this is by willingly doing tasks beyond their responsibility for the progress of the company (extra role) or commonly known as organizational citizenship behavior. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of job satisfaction and organizational culture on organizational citizenship behavior in employees of the Commercial Ship Division of PT PAL Indonesia (Persero). A total of 152 employees were selected as respondents using a non-probability sampling technique with accidental sampling method. The results showed that there was a simultaneous effect of job satisfaction and organizational culture variables on organizational citizenship behavior variables, with an effect size of 98.6%.

Abstract

Abstract. Individuals experiencing superstitions respond with varied emotions. Do individuals experiencing negative superstitions respond with negative emotions, while individuals experiencing positive superstitions will respond with positive emotions? How is emotional arousal depicted when people experiencing superstitions? This study aimed to determine the emotional responses associated with negative and positive superstitions and the description of emotional arousal. The research design used was descriptive quantitative research. The population for this study consisted of Javanese individuals with a sample size of 192 subjects. The research respondents were selected using incidental sampling techniques and were given questionnaires to collect the data. The instruments used in this  study were treatment and data collection instruments. The results of descriptive analysis revealed that individuals experiencing negative superstitions had emotions of fear, calm, non-specific emotions and guilt. Furthermore, individual experiencing positive superstitions had the emotions of calmness, hope, gratitude and joy. The level of emotional arousal when experiencing negative superstitions was categorized as medium, whereas the level of emotional arousal when experiencing positive superstitions was categorized as high.
