Abstract

The Caliph is the supreme leader of the Muslim community and is also the leader of the Islamic State, commonly known as Khalifatul Muslim. The election of Abu Bakr as caliph was not a mistake, but it was the best decision taken by the friends of the Prophet Muhammad SAW. Using library research methods, researchers search for, study, and understand literature related to Caliph Abu Bakar. The author focuses on the literature on the strategic policies taken by Caliph Abu Bakar As-Sidiq. This research shows that Abu Bakar As-Sidiq's strategic policy during the time of the Rasyidah Caliph was not to fight domestic rebels, territorial expansion, and the influence of Islamic states starting from the Roman and Persian to Iraqi territories. At this time, Baitul Mal and Judicial Institutions are also a priority. What is no less important is the policy of Caliph Abu Bakar As-Sidiq in collecting the Koran into one Mushaf.

Abstract

Al-Qur'an is a very important primary source because it includes everything that humans need. However, in reality, not everyone living in this world receives guidance in their lives. The aim of this research is to explore the concept of ghaflah (negligence) and identify terms or concepts that are opposed to it in the Al-Qur'an, using Sayyid Qutb's tafsir as an analytical framework. This research method uses library research, so the technique used for data processing consists of evaluating data obtained from data collection techniques then grouping and categorizing the data according to the problem being studied and then analyzing it. The results of the research show the meaning of ghaflah and its counterterms in the interpretation of Fi Dzilal al-Qur'an. First, ghaflah is negligent behavior that deliberately ignores all of God's gifts in the form of guidance, guidance, favors, gifts, and signs of His greatness, as well as indifference to oneself and one's surroundings. Second, the counterterms of ghaflah are gratitude and dhikr. Being grateful to Allah means being aware of the blessings Allah has given you and doing dhikr as an effort to remember that Allah is the strongest.

Abstract

Given the increasing importance of environmental awareness, it is now widely acknowledged that environmental education should be introduced and ingrained from a young age, both in formal educational settings and within the family environment (non-formal education). The present case study examines the implementation and outcomes of a pioneering project, "One World, One Goal: Connecting for Climate Action," carried out in partnership with the prestigious organisation "Ngeteh Sore." This project goes beyond geographical limits to bring together communities from around the world with a common dedication to environmental stewardship. The project aims to empower individuals, especially parents in Indonesia, by organising carefully selected online talks. These discussions provide them with the necessary knowledge, resources, and inspiration to effectively address the challenges posed by climate change. The project facilitates a worldwide conversation on urgent environmental concerns, such as water scarcity, pollution, green growth, and sustainability, by assembling a varied group of knowledgeable speakers from nine nations. The programme employs a novel approach to not only distribute crucial information but also stimulate concrete action at the local level. The project acts as a catalyst for transformative change by encouraging participants to engage in thought-provoking discussions, share insights, and commit to collective action. It aims to create a more sustainable and resilient future for future generations, with a specific focus on improving educational wellbeing and promoting cross-cultural studies.

Abstract

This research aims to improve the understanding of science concepts among students at MTsN 1 Kepulauan Sula through the application of the inquiry learning model. This Classroom Action Research was conducted in three cycles, with 29 eighth-grade students as research subjects. Data was collected through concept understanding tests, learning observations, and interviews. The results show an improvement in students' understanding of science concepts from cycle I to cycle III, with the class average score increasing from 65.8 to 78.5, and the percentage of students reaching the Minimum Competency Criteria increasing from 48% to 79%. Student activity in learning also showed improvement, evident from increased participation in group discussions, ability to ask questions, and formulate hypotheses. Challenges in applying the inquiry model, such as limited resources and adaptation to local context, were addressed through the use of local materials and contextualization of learning materials. This study concludes that the inquiry learning model, with appropriate adaptations, is effective in improving students' understanding of science concepts in Indonesia's outer island regions. These findings have important implications for efforts to improve the quality of science learning in similar areas.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and analyze students' learning difficulties in the subject of Natural Sciences (IPA) at MTsN 1 Kepulauan Sula and the measures to address them. Employing a qualitative approach with a descriptive case study method, data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis over eight weeks. The findings indicate that students struggle with understanding abstract concepts such as force, motion, energy, and atomic structure due to insufficient teaching aids and practical exercises. Limited resources and facilities, such as inadequately equipped laboratories and restricted access to information and communication technology (ICT), also hinder the teaching and learning process. Low student motivation, varying levels of academic ability among students, and inadequate parental involvement in home learning are additional factors affecting learning difficulties. Proposed measures include enhancing teaching quality through teacher training, utilizing local resources, and strategies to boost student motivation. Differentiated learning approaches to address varying academic abilities and increased parental involvement are also recommended. These findings provide insights into the challenges of teaching IPA in remote areas and recommend developing educational policies better suited to local contexts.
