JATIMAS aims to provide a platform for publishing reports and research findings on community service activities conducted in rural areas, with a specific emphasis on addressing the needs and challenges faced by rural communities. The journal seeks to promote knowledge sharing and innovative approaches to enhance the well-being and development of rural areas. The journal scope includes (but is not limited to): 1. Community Service Activities: The journal welcomes reports on a wide range of community service activities undertaken in rural areas or related to agricultural activities, such as healthcare initiatives, educational programs, infrastructure development projects, environmental conservation efforts, social welfare projects, and more. These reports should highlight the impact and outcomes of the activities, providing valuable insights for future initiatives. 2. Rural Community Development: Manuscripts focusing on strategies, policies, and best practices for rural community development are encouraged. This may include topics such as capacity building, entrepreneurship, sustainable livelihoods, local governance, social inclusion, and empowering marginalized groups within rural communities. 3. Agricultural Innovations and Practices: The journal covers agricultural topics relevant to rural areas, including but not limited to agricultural practices, techniques, innovations, and technologies. Contributions may explore areas such as crop cultivation, livestock management, agroforestry, sustainable farming methods, organic agriculture, and the use of modern tools and machinery in rural farming. 4. Sustainable Resource Management: Manuscripts addressing the sustainable management of natural resources in rural areas are of particular interest. This includes research on land use planning, water resource management, soil conservation, biodiversity preservation, and the adoption of renewable energy sources in rural communities. 5. Policy and Governance: The journal encourages articles examining policy frameworks and governance mechanisms that influence rural development and agricultural practices. These may include analyses of government policies, regulations, funding mechanisms, and institutional arrangements relevant to rural community service and agricultural sectors. 6. Case Studies and Experiences: The journal welcomes case studies and practical experiences from researchers, practitioners, and community members engaged in rural community service and agricultural activities. These reports should provide valuable insights into successful models, challenges encountered, lessons learned, and recommendations for future endeavours. JATIMAS seeks to foster interdisciplinary collaboration, bridge the gap between research and practice, and contribute to the overall development and sustainability of rural areas worldwide.

Abstract

This article discusses efforts to improve child literacy and empower women through the establishment of a Family Education Forum (FEK) using a participatory approach in Sidorejo Village, as part of implementing a child- and women-friendly village model. The background of this community service is the limited access to informal education at the family level, minimal involvement of mothers in their children's home learning, and the absence of a forum that integrates family-based education. The community engagement employed the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method, comprising stages that included problem mapping, program planning, forum implementation, and participatory evaluation. The results show that FEK effectively improves children's basic literacy and strengthens the role of women in family decision-making. The forum also becomes a productive communication medium among family members and the village community. The novelty of this research lies in the integration of family education, children’s literacy, and women’s empowerment into a single, sustainable, and participatory platform, unlike conventional family literacy models that focus solely on children’s cognitive aspects. This article concludes that the family education forum model has great potential in developing an inclusive and sustainable community-based education support system. Artikel ini membahas tentang upaya peningkatan literasi anak dan pemberdayaan perempuan melalui pembentukan Forum Edukasi Keluarga (FEK) berbasis pendekatan partisipatif di Desa Sidorejo sebagai bentuk implementasi desa ramah perempuan dan anak. Latar belakang kegiatan ini adalah rendahnya akses edukasi nonformal di tingkat keluarga, minimnya peran ibu dalam pembelajaran anak di rumah, serta belum adanya forum yang mengintegrasikan edukasi berbasis keluarga. Kegiatan pengabdian menggunakan metode Participatory Action Research (PAR), dengan tahapan pemetaan masalah, perencanaan program, implementasi forum edukasi, serta evaluasi bersama mitra. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa FEK mampu meningkatkan literasi dasar anak dan memperkuat peran perempuan dalam pengambilan keputusan keluarga. Forum ini juga menjadi sarana komunikasi produktif antaranggota keluarga dan komunitas desa. Kebaruan penelitian ini terletak pada integrasi pendidikan keluarga, literasi anak, dan pemberdayaan perempuan dalam satu wadah partisipatif yang berkelanjutan, berbeda dengan model literasi keluarga konvensional yang hanya berfokus pada aspek kognitif anak. Artikel ini menyimpulkan bahwa model forum edukasi keluarga memiliki potensi besar dalam membangun sistem pendukung pendidikan berbasis komunitas yang inklusif dan berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Training on the production of PSB liquid organic fertilizer was conducted in Jatimalang Village to enhance farmers' knowledge and skills in environmentally friendly fertilizer technology. This activity implemented a participatory action learning model that emphasized direct practice, so that participants not only understood the theoretical concept but also participated in all stages of PSB fertilizer production, from raw material preparation and fermentation to application on agricultural land. In addition, the training included counseling on the benefits of phosphate-solubilizing bacteria (PSB) in increasing phosphorus availability in the soil, enhancing fertilizer efficiency, and reducing the need for chemical fertilizers. Evaluation results for participants showed an increase in knowledge after the training, from 65.09 to 77.51 and from 72.1 to 79.84 in two different groups. This increase in scores indicates a positive response and a good understanding of the material, especially in the application section in the field. Participants also stated that PSB is relatively easy to produce using locally available materials, thereby reducing production costs and making it an appropriate innovation to support the sustainability of their farming businesses. Therefore, this training is expected to be the first step in encouraging a more environmentally friendly, productive, and efficient agricultural transformation in Jatimalang Village. Pelatihan pembuatan pupuk organik cair PSB dilaksanakan di Desa Jatimalang untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan petani terhadap teknologi pupuk ramah lingkungan. Kegiatan ini menerapkan model participatory action learning yang menekankan praktik langsung, sehingga peserta tidak hanya memahami konsep secara teori, tetapi juga terlibat dalam seluruh tahapan pembuatan pupuk PSB mulai dari persiapan bahan baku, proses fermentasi, hingga cara aplikasi di lahan pertanian. Selain itu, pelatihan juga dilengkapi dengan penyuluhan mengenai manfaat bakteri phosphate solubilizing bacteria (PSB) dalam meningkatkan ketersediaan fosfor di tanah, efisiensi pemupukan, dan pengurangan penggunaan pupuk kimia. Hasil evaluasi kepada peserta menunjukkan terjadinya peningkatan pengetahuan peserta setelah pelatihan yaitu dari 65,09 menjadi 77,51 dan dari 72,1 menjadi 79,84 pada dua kelompok berbeda. Peningkatan skor ini menunjukkan adanya respon positif dan kemampuan pemahaman materi yang baik, terutama pada bagian aplikasi di lapangan. Para peserta juga menyampaikan bahwa PSB relatif mudah diproduksi dengan bahan yang tersedia di lingkungan sekitar, sehingga dapat menekan biaya produksi dan menjadi inovasi tepat guna untuk menunjang keberlanjutan usaha tani mereka. Dengan demikian, pelatihan ini diharapkan dapat menjadi langkah awal dalam mendorong transformasi pertanian yang lebih ramah lingkungan, produktif, dan efisien di Desa Jatimalang.

Abstract

Fafoe Village in West Malaka District, Malaka Regency, has great potential for cultivating horticultural vegetables, particularly white mustard greens (Brassica pekinensis L.). However, farmers in this village face a major obstacle: a lack of knowledge about organic fertilizer production and efficient, environmentally friendly cultivation techniques. The Professional Work Lecture (KKP) program aims to increase farmer capacity by providing training and mentoring in the production of organic fertilizer based on livestock waste and improving cultivation techniques. The method employed was participatory training and continuous mentoring, which lasted for four weeks. The effectiveness of this approach was measured through pre- and post-tests, designed to assess improvements in farmers' knowledge and skills. The evaluation results showed an average increase in understanding of 52.6%. Additionally, 50% of farmer group members were able to independently produce and apply organic fertilizer to their cultivated land, which has had a positive impact on crop productivity and farmer economic well-being. This program shows potential as a model for sustainable agricultural development in other rural areas with similar contexts. Desa Fafoe di Kecamatan Malaka Barat, Kabupaten Malaka memiliki potensi besar dalam budidaya sayuran hortikultura, khususnya sawi batang putih (Brassica pekinensis L.). Namun, petani di desa ini menghadapi kendala utama berupa kurangnya pengetahuan tentang pembuatan pupuk organik serta teknik budidaya yang efisien dan ramah lingkungan. Program Kuliah Kerja Profesi (KKP) bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kapasitas petani dengan memberikan pelatihan dan pendampingan dalam pembuatan pupuk organik berbasis limbah ternak serta teknik budidaya yang lebih baik. Metode yang digunakan adalah pelatihan partisipatif dan pendampingan berkelanjutan selama empat minggu, dengan pengukuran efektivitas melalui pre-test dan post-test untuk mengetahui peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan petani. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman rata-rata sebesar 52,6% dan sebanyak 50% petani anggota kelompok tani mampu memproduksi pupuk organik secara mandiri serta mengaplikasikannya di lahan budidaya, yang berdampak positif pada produktivitas tanaman dan kesejahteraan ekonomi petani. Program ini menunjukkan potensi sebagai model pengembangan pertanian berkelanjutan di wilayah pedesaan lain dengan konteks serupa.

Abstract

The objectives of the Community Service Program (KKN) in Patuguran Village are: 1) Building partnerships between students, the village government, and the community to create sustainable village development, especially in the maritime sector. 2) Increasing knowledge related to branding, packaging, and digital marketing of fishery product processing businesses as an effort to strengthen maritime economic potential. 3) Increasing knowledge and fostering a love of maritime potential through maritime creativity-based teaching activities for elementary school students. The methods used include observation, interviews, training, mentoring, creative teaching activities, and pre-test and post-test evaluations. Strengthening maritime potential through fishery product business development and maritime creativity education successfully achieved the expected goals. There was an increase in knowledge and interest among the village community to become entrepreneurs in fishery product processing. Training and mentoring in packaging, branding, and digital marketing led to the development of brands, labels, product packaging, and marketing channels through social media accounts, thereby enhancing product marketing. Educational activities with a maritime creativity theme for elementary school students increased students' knowledge about maritime potential, fostered a love of the maritime, and enhanced students' creativity and skills. These activities need to be continuously developed with a focus on economic empowerment and education as an effort to maintain the sustainability of maritime village development. Tujuan kegiatan KKN di Desa Patuguran adalah: 1) Membangun kemitraan antara mahasiswa, pemerintah desa dan masyarakat untuk  menciptakan pembangunan desa yang berkelanjutan terutama dari sektor maritim, 2) Meningkatan pengetahuan terkait branding, pengemasan, dan digital marketing usaha pengolahan hasil perikanan sebagai upaya penguatan potensi ekonomi maritim, 3) Meningkatkan pengetahuan dan menumbuhkan kecintaan terhadap potensi maritim melalui kegiatan pengajaran berbasis kreativitas maritim bagi siswa sekolah dasar. Metode yang digunakan meliputi observasi, wawancara, pelatihan, pendampingan, serta kegiatan pengajaran kreatif, serta evaluasi pre-test dan post-test.  Penguatan potensi maritim melalui pengembangan usaha hasil perikanan dan pendidikan kreativitas maritim berhasil mencapai tujuan yang yang diharapkan. Terdapat peningkatan pengetahuan dan ketertarikan masyarakat desa untuk menjadi pelaku usaha pengolahan hasil perikanan. Pelatihan dan pendampingan branding pengemasan, dan digital marketing menghasilkan merk, label, kemasan produk, serta saluran pemasaran melalui akun media sosial sehingga meningkatkan pemasaran produk. Kegiatan pendidikan dengan tema kreativitas maritim bagi murid sekolah dasar memberikan peningkatan pengetahuan siswa tentang potensi maritim, tumbuhnya rasa cinta maritim, serta meningkatkan kreativitas dan keterampilan siswa.  Kegiatan ini perlu terus dikembangkan yang berfokus pada pemberdayaan ekonomi dan pendidikan sebagai upaya menjaga keberlanjutan pembangunan desa maritim.

Abstract

Solid waste from tofu production, commonly referred to as tofu dregs, has not been further processed by partners, in this case, the Pak Badrun Tofu factory. The tofu dregs produced by partners are only sold to cattle and goat farmers as animal feed. However, according to several studies conducted, it has been found that the nutritional value of tofu dregs is quite high; therefore, tofu dregs have great potential to be further processed into flour. A lack of knowledge about the use of tofu dregs in flour is one of the obstacles to processing tofu dregs, which could be utilized in other products with high economic value. The utilization of tofu dregs can provide economic and practical benefits in their processing. Additionally, processing tofu dregs can offer the community choices in terms of selecting flour with better nutritional content. Processing tofu dregs into flour can encourage the development of new processed products from tofu dregs, as a way to support food security and safety, ultimately improving community nutrition. In order to provide appropriate solutions to partners, the tofu dregs processing program is carried out in three stages, namely: 1) Conducting outreach on the production of flour from tofu dregs to partners, 2) Training on the production of flour from tofu dregs, and 3) Training in product management and digital marketing. This program successfully enhanced the knowledge, production skills, and digital marketing capabilities of participants, enabling them to process tofu dregs into value-added products with the potential to positively impact the community's economy in a sustainable manner. Limbah padat hasil produksi tahu yang biasa disebut sebagai ampas tahu belum diolah lebih lanjut oleh mitra dalam hal ini pabrik Tahu Pak Badrun. Selama ini ampas tahu yang dihasilkan dari proses produksi tahu hanya dijual ke peternak sapi dan kambing sebagai pakan ternak, padahal menurut beberapa penelitian yang telah dilakukan didapatkan bahwasanya ampas tahu memiliki kandungan gizi yang baik oleh karena itu ampas tahu memiliki potensi yang besar untuk dapat diolah lebih lanjut menjadi tepung. Kurangnya pengetahuan tentang pemanfaatan ampas tahu menjadi tepung merupakan salah satu kendala dalam upaya pengolahan ampas tahu yang seharusnya dapat dimanfaatkan menjadi produk lain yang memiliki nilai ekonomis tinggi. Pemanfaatan ampas tahu dapat memberikan keuntungan secara ekonomi dan praktis dalam pengolahannya selain itu dengan diolahnya ampas tahu dapat memberikan pilihan kepada masyarakat dalam hal memilih tepung dengan kandungan gizi yang lebih baik. Pengolahan ampas tahu menjadi tepung dapat mendorong munculnya produk olahan baru dari ampas tahu sebagai salah satu cara mendukung ketahanan dan keamanan pangan dalam hal ini adalah meningkatkan gizi masyarakat. Guna memberikan solusi tepat guna pada mitra maka program pengolahan ampas tahu dikerjakan dalam tiga tahapan yaitu; 1) melakukan Sosialisasi pembuatan tepung dengan berbahan dasar ampas tahu pada mitra, 2) Pelatihan Pembuatan tepung berbasis ampas tahu, 3) Pelatihan manajerial dan digital marketing produk. Program ini berhasil meningkatkan pengetahuan, keterampilan produksi, dan pemasaran digital peserta, sehingga ampas tahu dapat diolah menjadi produk bernilai tambah yang berpotensi meningkatkan ekonomi masyarakat secara berkelanjutan.

Abstract

The availability of ruminant feed in Kulaba Village, Ternate City, is still dependent on the seasons, often disrupting livestock productivity. To address this, the community service program aims to increase livestock feed self-sufficiency through outreach and assistance in land use based on land capability data. The method used is a participatory approach, comprising stages of problem identification, spatial analysis of land capability maps, outreach and training, and the construction of demonstration plots (demplots) in yards, rain-fed rice fields, and marginal land. These activities have resulted in an increase in partners' understanding of land map symbols and interpretation, their ability to select forage crops according to land class, and their awareness of the importance of feed preservation through silage technology. Despite these improvements, the main obstacles, such as limited access to seeds, capital, and irrigation facilities, remain. However, the presence of demonstration plots and facilitation by farmer groups has helped accelerate the adoption of technology. As such, this program contributes to strengthening local food security and provides a foundation for the development of sustainable land-use systems in the future. Ketersediaan pakan ruminansia di Kelurahan Kulaba Kota Ternate masih bergantung pada musim, sehingga produktivitas usaha ternak kerap terganggu. Program pengabdian ini bertujuan meningkatkan kemandirian pakan ternak melalui sosialisasi dan pendampingan pemanfaatan lahan berdasarkan data kemampuan lahan. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan partisipatif dengan tahapan identifikasi masalah, analisis spasial peta kemampuan lahan, sosialisasi dan pelatihan, serta pembangunan demonstration plot (demplot) di pekarangan, sawah tadah hujan, dan lahan marginal. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman mitra terhadap simbol dan interpretasi peta lahan, kemampuan memilih jenis tanaman pakan ternak sesuai kelas lahan, serta kesadaran pentingnya pengawetan pakan melalui teknologi silase. Hambatan utama masih meliputi keterbatasan akses bibit, modal, dan sarana irigasi, namun adanya demplot dan fasilitasi kelompok tani terbukti mempercepat adopsi teknologi. Program ini berkontribusi dalam memperkuat ketahanan pakan lokal dan memberikan dasar bagi pengembangan sistem pemanfaatan lahan berkelanjutan di masa depan.

Abstract

Farmers' dependence on chemical fertilizers remains a major problem in Indonesia's agricultural system, including in West Tulang Bawang Regency. The high price of chemical fertilizers and their negative impact on soil fertility have prompted the need for innovative, environmentally friendly, and sustainable alternatives. One solution is bokashi biofertilizer. This activity aims to enhance farmers' knowledge and skills in producing and utilizing bokashi biofertilizer independently, thereby reducing their dependence on chemical fertilizers and increasing the efficiency of agricultural waste utilization. The community service activity was carried out using a participatory method through several stages: situation analysis, outreach, hands-on bokashi production, and evaluation through pre- and post-tests. The materials used included straw, husks, livestock manure, bran, water, and EM4 solution, using simple tools easily accessible to farmers. The results of the activity showed an increase in participants' knowledge and skills. The average pre-test score of 55% increased to 85% in the post-test. This activity also had positive socio-economic impacts, including increased farmer awareness of environmentally friendly agricultural practices, the formation of group initiatives to produce bokashi together, and savings of up to 30% on chemical fertilizer costs in the following planting season. Farmers demonstrated a positive attitude and commitment to continuing independent bokashi production. This activity contributed to the sustainability of the community empowerment program by promoting farmer independence, enhancing more productive organic waste management, and fostering the creation of a sustainable agricultural system in West Tulang Bawang Regency. Ketergantungan petani terhadap pupuk kimia masih menjadi persoalan utama dalam sistem pertanian di Indonesia, termasuk di Kabupaten Tulang Bawang Barat. Harga pupuk kimia yang tinggi serta dampak negatifnya terhadap kesuburan tanah mendorong perlunya alternatif inovatif yang lebih aman bagi lingkungan serta berkelanjutan. Biofertilizer bokashi menjadi salah satu solusi yang dapat dipilih. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan petani dalam memproduksi serta memanfaatkan biofertilizer bokashi secara mandiri, guna mengurangi ketergantungan terhadap pupuk kimia dan meningkatkan efisiensi pemanfaatan limbah pertanian. Kegiatan pengabdian dilaksanakan dengan metode partisipatif melalui beberapa tahapan, yaitu analisis situasi, sosialisasi dan penyuluhan, praktik langsung pembuatan bokashi, serta evaluasi melalui pre-test dan post-test. Bahan yang digunakan meliputi jerami, sekam, kotoran ternak, dedak, air, dan larutan EM4 dengan alat sederhana yang mudah dijangkau oleh petani. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pada aspek pengetahuan dan keterampilan peserta. Nilai rata-rata pre-test sebesar 55% meningkat menjadi 85% pada post-test. Kegiatan ini juga memberikan dampak sosial ekonomi positif, antara lain meningkatnya kesadaran petani terhadap praktik pertanian ramah lingkungan, terbentuknya inisiatif kelompok untuk memproduksi bokashi bersama, serta penghematan biaya pupuk kimia hingga 30% pada musim tanam berikutnya. Petani menunjukkan sikap positif dan berkomitmen untuk melanjutkan produksi bokashi secara mandiri. Kegiatan ini berkontribusi terhadap keberlanjutan program pemberdayaan masyarakat dengan mendorong kemandirian petani, pengelolaan limbah organik yang lebih produktif, serta terciptanya sistem pertanian yang berkelanjutan di Kabupaten Tulang Bawang Barat.

Abstract

Wonorejo Village, Kencong District, Jember Regency, has great potential for developing smallholder cocoa. In 2020, the village received 3.5 hectares of cocoa seedlings from the Jember Regency Government. Plants have now begun to produce, but farmers face several obstacles, including difficulties in handling Primary Clonal Cocoa (PCC) planting materials and increasing Cocoa Pod Borer (CPB) attacks. Furthermore, most farmers do not fully understand the application of Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), resulting in plantation productivity not reaching its optimal potential. This Community Service Program (PkM) aims to increase farmers' capacity in implementing GAP and PCC management techniques to increase productivity and plant resistance to CPB attacks. Activities were carried out through several stages, including socialization of the prospects for developing smallholder cocoa, training and practice on pruning, fertilization, rorak making, and direct field assistance. The results of the activities show an increase in farmers' knowledge and skills in good cocoa cultivation, marked by improvements in PCC planting material handling techniques and more consistent application of GAP. The survival rate of cocoa seedlings after mentoring exceeded 80%, accompanied by a decrease in the intensity of CPB attacks, as observed in the field. Farmers responded very positively to this program, as the mentoring helped improve cultivation practices and increase yields. Overall, this program contributed to promoting Wonorejo Village as a central village and a pilot project for smallholder cocoa farming in Jember Regency. Desa Wonorejo, Kecamatan Kencong, Kabupaten Jember memiliki potensi besar dalam pengembangan kakao rakyat. Pada tahun 2020, desa ini menerima bantuan bibit kakao seluas 3,5 ha dari Pemerintah Kabupaten Jember. Saat ini tanaman telah mulai berproduksi, namun petani menghadapi sejumlah kendala seperti kesulitan dalam penanganan bahan tanam Primary Clonal Cocoa (PCC) serta meningkatnya serangan Penggerek Buah Kakao (PBK). Selain itu, sebagian besar petani belum memahami secara utuh penerapan Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), sehingga produktivitas kebun belum mencapai potensi optimal. Program Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kapasitas petani dalam penerapan GAP dan teknik pengelolaan PCC guna meningkatkan produktivitas serta ketahanan tanaman terhadap serangan hama PBK. Kegiatan dilakukan melalui beberapa tahapan, meliputi sosialisasi prospek pengembangan kakao rakyat, pelatihan dan praktik pemangkasan, pemupukan, pembuatan rorak, serta pendampingan langsung di lapangan.Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan petani dalam budidaya kakao yang baik, ditandai dengan perbaikan teknik penanganan bahan tanam PCC dan penerapan GAP secara lebih konsisten. Persentase hidup bibit kakao setelah pendampingan mencapai lebih dari 80%, disertai penurunan intensitas serangan PBK berdasarkan pengamatan lapangan. Respon petani terhadap kegiatan ini sangat positif karena pendampingan membantu memperbaiki praktik budidaya dan meningkatkan hasil panen. Secara keseluruhan, program ini berkontribusi dalam mendorong Desa Wonorejo menjadi Desa Sentral dan percontohan kakao rakyat di Kabupaten Jember.

Abstract

The challenges facing the people of Butu Village, Tilongkabila District, Bone Bolango Regency, include low added value of agricultural products and limited diversification of local food products. This situation leads to dependence on the sale of raw crops and a limited variety of nutritious food consumption. This program provides training and mentoring solutions for diversifying agricultural products, with a focus on processing. The objective of this activity is to enhance the skills of the Butu Village community in processing agricultural products, particularly corn, into value-added products and to strengthen village food security by providing a variety of nutritious and sustainable local food products. The results of this community service activity show an increase in participants' knowledge and skills in processing corn-based agricultural products, as well as growing community motivation to develop local food-based businesses. Thus, this activity makes a significant contribution to supporting community economic independence and food security, leveraging the village's potential. Permasalahan yang dihadapi masyarakat Desa Butu, Kecamatan Tilongkabila, Kabupaten Bone Bolango adalah rendahnya nilai tambah hasil pertanian dan terbatasnya diversifikasi produk pangan lokal. Kondisi ini menyebabkan ketergantungan pada penjualan hasil panen dalam bentuk mentah, dan terbatasnya variasi konsumsi pangan bergizi. Solusi yang ditawarkan dalam program ini adalah pelatihan dan pendampingan diversifikasi produk pertanian, khususnya pengolahan hasil pertanian menjadi produk bernilai tambah. Tujuan kegiatan yaitu meningkatkan keterampilan masyarakat Desa Butu dalam mengolah hasil pertanian, khususnya jagung dan komoditas lainnya, menjadi produk olahan bernilai tambah dan menguatkan ketahanan pangan desa melalui penyediaan produk pangan lokal yang variatif, bergizi dan berkelanjutan. hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan peserta dalam proses produksi, serta tumbuhnya motivasi masyarakat untuk mengembangkan usaha berbasis pangan lokal. Dengan demikian, kegiatan ini memberikan kontribusi nyata dalam mendukung kemandirian ekonomi masyarakat sekaligus ketahanan pangan berbasis potensi desa.

Abstract

The Kharisma Sejati Women's Farmers Group in Sumber Mulya Village, Kurik District, Merauke Regency, faces challenges in manually watering horticultural crops using dippers, buckets, and hoses. This method was time-consuming, labor-intensive, and wasteful, while water sources rely solely on reservoirs and rainwater ponds. To address these issues, a community service program was conducted in the form of training and implementation of an Internet of Things (IoT)-based irrigation system controlled by a smartphone application. This community service program aims to introduce and train the Kharisma Sejati Women's Farmers Group in the use of an IoT-based irrigation system, and to implement it on horticultural land to improve water efficiency and reduce work time. The implementation method included five stages: outreach, technical training, plot demonstrations, mentoring and evaluation, and program sustainability planning. The results showed that the IoT-based irrigation system can save up to 40% of water time and reduce water use by around 30% compared to manual methods. In addition, the application of this technology makes chili plant growth more uniform and improves the digital skills and confidence of women's farmer group members in managing modern agriculture. The program's main advantages are its practicality, water efficiency, consistency, and ability to increase horticultural productivity. Its limitations include its dependence on electricity, network connectivity, and initial adaptation to the application. Going forward, the program has the potential to be developed through more precise technology integration, implementation with other farmer groups, infrastructure support, and the use of digital markets, making it a model for sustainable agricultural innovation in the Merauke region. Kelompok Tani Wanita Kharisma Sejati di Kampung Sumber Mulya, Distrik Kurik, Kabupaten Merauke menghadapi kendala penyiraman tanaman hortikultura yang masih dilakukan secara manual menggunakan gayung, ember, dan selang. Cara ini membutuhkan waktu lama, tenaga besar, serta boros air, sementara sumber air hanya bergantung pada waduk dan kolam tadah hujan. Untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut, dilakukan program pengabdian berupa pelatihan dan penerapan sistem penyiraman berbasis Internet of Things (IoT) yang dikendalikan melalui aplikasi smartphone. Pengabdian ini bertujuan mengenalkan dan melatih Kelompok Tani Wanita Kharisma Sejati dalam penggunaan sistem penyiraman berbasis IoT, serta mengimplementasikannya pada lahan hortikultura guna meningkatkan efisiensi air dan waktu kerja. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi lima tahap: sosialisasi, pelatihan teknis, demonstrasi plot, pendampingan dan evaluasi, serta perencanaan keberlanjutan program. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa sistem penyiraman berbasis IoT mampu menghemat waktu penyiraman hingga ±40% dan penggunaan air sekitar ±30% dibandingkan metode manual. Selain itu, penerapan teknologi ini membuat pertumbuhan tanaman cabai lebih seragam serta meningkatkan keterampilan digital dan kepercayaan diri anggota kelompok tani wanita dalam mengelola pertanian modern. Kelebihan utama program ini adalah praktis, hemat air, konsisten, dan mampu meningkatkan produktivitas hortikultura, sedangkan keterbatasannya adalah ketergantungan pada listrik, jaringan, dan adaptasi awal penggunaan aplikasi. Ke depan, program ini berpotensi dikembangkan melalui integrasi teknologi yang lebih presisi, penerapan pada kelompok tani lain. Dukungan infrastruktur, serta pemanfaatan pasar digital, sehingga dapat menjadi model inovasi pertanian berkelanjutan di wilayah Merauke.
