Abstract

The depth and accuracy of the orotracheal tube are things that must be considered to avoid endotracheal tube malposition. The Chula formula is a method used to predict the accuracy of the orotracheal tube in the right position before intubation. This study aims to determine the accuracy of an orotracheal tube with the Chula formula in general anesthesia. This research method is quantitative with a descriptive observational approach. The sampling technique used total sampling with a total sample of 35 patients undergoing orotracheal tube intubation at Emanuel Hospital. Data was taken by observing the accuracy of the orotracheal tube using the Chula formula during intubation. The results of the study showed that the accuracy of the orotracheal tube with the Chula formula had 100% accuracy. Suggestions for further research are measuring body height directly and applying the chula formula to other tribes.

Abstract

Adolescent girls are a group that is prone to iron deficiency anemia. Adolescent girls experience an increased need for nutrients, especially iron nutrients. This problem is due to the menstrual cycle that begins to occur in the adolescent phase. In addition, teenagers are starting to pay attention to their body shape, so they go on excessive diets. One of the factors causing this behavior is low knowledge of anemia. Knowledge of anemia can be increased by nutrition education. One method that can be used is education through Instagram. This study aimed to determine the effect of nutrition education through Instagram social media on the anemia knowledge of female students at Poltekkes Kemenkes Pangkalpinang. This research used a pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest design involving 222 samples selected by stratified random sampling technique. The statistical test used is the Wilcoxon test. The results showed an increase in the average knowledge of the respondents, from a score of 63.96 to 72.64. The statistical test shows an increase in knowledge (p-value 0.000). The level of anemia knowledge of female students was similar between departments. Education through Instagram accounts affects female students' knowledge of anemia at Poltekkes Kemenkes Pangkalpinang. Further researchers may research adolescents in the early years (12-15 years) to be the subject of the following study.

Abstract

Hypertension, a prevalent and chronic medical condition, is often associated with elevated anxiety levels, contributing to its progression and complications. Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) has emerged as a potential intervention to address both anxiety and hypertension. This scoping review aims to explore the existing literature on the effect of MBCT on anxiety and blood pressure in individuals with hypertension. Methods: A comprehensive search was conducted across electronic database, including Garuda, PubMed, Web of Science (WOS), and Science, for relevant articles published between 2013 to 2023. The searching process utilized PCC approach (Population: adult with hypertension; concept (C): mindfulness based cognitive therapy (MBCT), anxiety, high blood pressure, hypertension, cardiovascular disease; context (C): clinical and community settings). Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis (PRISMA) was employed as guideline to the screening process of articles in this study. A total of eight articles were evaluated their quality using The Joanna Briggs Institute Checklist. Some characteristics of mindfulness were identified: MBCT general, MBCT for perinatal depression (MBCT-PD), MBCT for anxiety (MBCT-A), and telephone delivered MBCT (MBCT-T). In general, the timeframe for conducting MBCT is eight weeks, with each session lasting 2 to 2.5 hours. MBCT demonstrates promise as an adjunctive intervention for managing anxiety and blood pressure in individuals with hypertension. While preliminary evidence suggests its potential benefits, further research is needed to establish its efficacy and refine its application in clinical practice. Integrating MBCT into comprehensive hypertension management strategies may offer a multifaceted approach to improving the well-being of individuals with hypertension.
