Abstract

Indonesia is a country of law, every offense must have a penalty and is reinforced by the regulations listed in the law. Crime cases in West Kalimantan, especially in Pontianak in 2023, are the second largest case. Of these cases, one of them is from the police. It was unexpected and surprising and many media reported it. One of the duties of the police to maintain the security of the community, on the contrary, makes the community restless and distrustful of the police. This research uses qualitative methods by collecting data from relevant sources. The results of the analysis show that cases of child abuse committed by unscrupulous police officers are behaviors that deviate from the police code of ethics. The ethics built in the police are not optimal in the police because with their authority they can take unethical actions. In restoring police confidence in the hearts of the community, the police carry out activities that are closer to the community and carry out tighter supervision within each police officer The Polresta Party provides penalties that make others not follow in the footsteps of these violations. One suggestion from the researcher is to emphasize faith in each police officer to devote to the state and protect the community.

Abstract

This study aims to brand community research by proposing and testing a model of user participation in brand communities. The authors conceptualise three antecedents of brand community participation (e.g., individual, relationship, and group) based on qualitative results and an extensive literature review. The empirical analysis comes from data related to the official car brand community and supports most of the hypotheses. However, several differences emerge between users of official car brands and unofficial dealers regarding the correlation factor in the level of knowledge exhibition. Additionally, critical mass perceptions explain some of the social mechanisms underlying members' decisions to participate in brand communities. Finally, quantile regression analysis extends previous literature by showing that different exchange rules motivate brand users, depending on their level of participation. This paper discusses the managerial implications of these findings as well as some important issues and lines of research.

Abstract

Assessing drought is a crucial component of effective drought risk management, stemming from diminished precipitation relative to the historical average, which subsequently impacts soil moisture and water reservoirs. The standard precipitation index (SPI) is commonly used to capture temporal and spatial variations. This research aims to evaluate the intensity, frequency, and duration of meteorological drought using SPI with time scales of 1, 3, 6, and 12 months in Herat Province, Afghanistan. The study encompasses 6 gauging stations with a 43-year record period in the region. The results show that with an increase in the time scale, the duration and frequency of drought increase. Additionally, the study reveals that the common extreme drought year for all stations was the year 2001, but the most extreme occurred in the year 2009 with an intensity two times greater than that of the year 2001. Due to the discrepancy of drought occurrence in each station, the findings suggest that for better drought management in the country, it is essential to analyze droughts in each local location. Over the past 43 years, the Cheldkhtaran station experienced the highest proportion of time in drought, accounting for 28.5%. Similarly, the Khosh Rabat station experienced droughts for 26.4%, the Nazdik-i-Herat station for 27.7%, the Pul-i-Hashemi station for 23.6%, and the Rabat-i-Akhund station for 26.9% of their respective time in the past 43 year.

Abstract

The prosecutor's office is responsible for carrying out investigations into criminal acts of terrorism. This includes collecting evidence, monitoring perpetrators, and gathering information from related parties. The prosecutor's office also has the authority to examine documents related to criminal acts of terrorism, such as newspapers, magazines, and social media. Prosecutors as Public Prosecutors have the primary task and role of prosecuting various criminal cases and carrying out judge's determinations and court decisions with permanent legal force. This terrorism case is classified as an ordinary examination procedure. The prosecution process in this terrorism case must be based on an indictment proven at a court hearing and ends with a legal charge (Requisitoir) as regulated in the Criminal Procedure Code. The procedure for criminal prosecution must be guided by the Circular Letter issued by the Attorney General's Office, namely Circular Letter Number: SE- 003/JA/8/1988, which has been updated with Circular Letter Number: SE. 001/JA/4/1995 Concerning Guidelines for Criminal Charges. The Public Prosecutor must be astute and thorough in formulating a criminal offense and the articles imposed on the defendant because it will significantly impact the indictment. If there is an error in formulating the criminal act and the articles imposed, it will have fatal consequences, namely that the case is null and void, and the defendant will be acquitted. Challenges include fulfilling formal and material requirements in the investigator's investigation report (BAP). So, the BAP has to go back and forth from the prosecutor to the investigator to be completed until it meets the requirements to be submitted to trial. There are a lot of court visitors or spectators at trials in terrorism cases. So that the prosecutor's office coordinates with the Police regarding security matters. Limitations in strengthening cooperation with related institutions in dealing with criminal acts of terrorism in the digital era.
