Abstract

The Museum of Weapons, located in the heart of Palu, is an important learning resource for the next generation, ensuring that the values of the cultural legacy bequeathed by the warrior heroes of Tanah Kaili are not forgotten. Learning the history of the Guma weapon used by Tanah Kaili soldiers at the Weapons Museum is necessary to instill pride in the younger generation in the heroes who have battled. Not forgetting their own region's past, but yet not being blind to it. The Museum of Weapons is expected to educate the future generation about the importance of preserving the cultural heritage of Guma weapons. This article uses a qualitative descriptive method. The data collection techniques used in this research are; observation, interviews, and documents. Then the data is processed by reducing data, presenting data, and verifying data/conclusion. The findings indicate that the Guma Museum is unique in that the historical sources that have formed collections of items (artifacts) are traditional weaponry. There are 42 different kinds of traditional weapons on display. This museum, which is used as a source of studying history, has proven to be helpful in raising the historical consciousness of students in Palu City. Learning about traditional weapons in Tanah Kaili through educational travel to the Weapons Museum inspired students to be proud, responsible, and obligated to protect and preserve cultural heritage objects left by Tanah Kaili's warrior ancestors. This is what raises pupils' historical awareness in Palu City.

Abstract

Exams have long served as the primary tool for determining a student's aptitude and as a way to choose students for academic advancement and employment. This study evaluated how much the school atmosphere and students' self-esteem affected their academic performance in a few senior secondary schools in Obafemi-Owode LGA, Ogun State, Nigeria. A survey research design was adopted. Three hundred and ninety-six (396) respondents participated in the study. Descriptive statistics of frequency distribution mean and standard deviation was used to analyze the data and provide answers to the research questions. The study found that self-esteem levels, academic achievement levels, and respondents' perceptions of the school environment were all below average for secondary school pupils. In order to increase students' academic engagement and performance, the study found that secondary school students' self-esteem and a supportive school climate are important elements that should be taken into consideration together. The study did, however, suggest that parents and teachers must work together to foster a welcoming and encouraging learning atmosphere where students feel fully supported, motivated, and appreciated.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to ascertain how Pow Toon learning materials work to improve students' English grammar knowledge. This study was carried out in Medan, Indonesia. Twenty eighth-grade kids served as the study's participants. Using Pow Toon learning resources, students' results on the English Grammar (basic present tense) test increased with each test. The pre-test had an average score of 57.66, the first cycle's test had an average of 74.33, and the second cycle's exam had an average of 90.66. The percentage of students passing their English Grammar tests (simple present tense) shows an increase; in the pre-test, 5% of students met the Maximum Completeness Criteria (KKM). 45% of students passed the first cycle test, whereas 100% of students passed the second cycle test. This indicates that using Pow Toon educational materials can help students learn more about English Grammar (simple present tense). Pow Toon learning materials engage students in the learning process, make the subject matter simple to write about and comprehend, and inspire them to use English Grammar (simple present tense) in discussions to explain daily activities.

Abstract

The learning results of cadet students taking the guard duty course are examined in this study to determine the effectiveness of interactive learning. Results of post-test data analysis using a sample of 46 students and the pre-experiment approach revealed a significant improvement in learning outcome scores. The median score grew from 80.3 to 82.5, while the mean score went from 80.5 on the pretest to 83.3 on the posttest. Also noticeably rising were the minimum and maximum scores. This research suggests that interactive learning enhances students' comprehension and knowledge. The constructivism learning theory, which emphasizes the value of active involvement in learning, is in accord with the ideas of this advancement. However, it is also essential to consider other elements like the caliber and drive of the instructors. The findings of this study offer a framework for creating more interactive and participatory learning processes in educational situations.

Abstract

The majority of EFL students get stuck in conversation practice. Ten freshmen joined the treatment to correct such a flaw. They equip themselves with equipment connected with stable internet access. The teacher created a whatsapp group to begin the course. He updated the application with the pupils' contacts. The students formed pairs to make the teaching and learning process easier. The teacher gave each duo a URL to click on, listen to, and learn from. They talked about the material's content. After it is over, each group designates a representative to give the discussion's outcome in front of the class. He must also paraphrase his partner's viewpoint. After the presentation, there was a question-and-answer period. The teacher gave the evaluation once all participants had finished performing. The information gathered during the procedure was qualitatively examined. The students' speaking skills improved as a result. The teacher might modify these findings to teach the associated disciplines. It also inspires other researchers to conduct more research.

Abstract

People with a high level of emotional intelligence can keep their feelings under control, both towards other people and towards themselves. As a result, it has been discovered that practicing gratitude can help students improve their emotional intelligence. This research aimed to investigate the connection between being grateful and having high levels of emotional intelligence among students. The investigation utilized a quantitative method and a design based on correlation. This research was carried out with the participation of 91 total students. Two scales were used in the data collection: a 15-item Emotional Intelligence Scale and the Development and Validation of the Islamic Gratitude Scale (IGS-10), created by Ahmad Rusdi in 2021 to measure thankfulness. The analysis of the data showed that gratitude and emotional quotient are positively correlated with one another. This suggests that greater levels of gratitude are connected with greater levels of emotional intelligence; hence, this demonstrates that gratitude can increase students' emotional intelligence and should be emphasized in educational settings.

Abstract

HOTS questions are given by teachers in learning with the hope that students will be able to think at a higher level. The aim of this research is to obtain a profile of mathematics teachers' thinking in solving HOTS problems. The research method used is a qualitative approach. The research subjects were SMA/SMK/MA teachers who worked and lived in Madiun, Magetan, Ngawi, and Ponorogo. Data collection uses tests and in-depth interviews. Source and time triangulation is used to obtain valid data. Categorization, reduction, and coding are used for data analysis so that conclusions can be drawn. Mathematics teachers solve HOTS problems by understanding, planning, implementing, and checking again. When understanding, mathematics teachers take the information contained in the problem given and bring it into mathematical form. At the understanding stage, teachers can identify the suitability of problems with their knowledge, such as linear programming problems. This is done by considering possible answers according to the information available on the problem. When implementing, according to the choices decided, the teacher carries out the plan. Implementation of the plan is the teacher's answer to solving the given HOTS problem. When rechecking, in general, perhaps because of the hassle, some mathematics teachers do not recheck answers. Only after there has been a discussion do most math teachers check their answers again. At this stage, it is possible for the teacher to find doubts and decide on confidence in the answer.
