Jurnal Keker Wisata ini wadah publikasi yang fokus pada semua kegiaatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk membina dosen dan mahasiswa dalam meningkatkan kemampuan, keterampilan, dan kemandirian dalam melaksanakan pengabdian pada masyarakat serta mempublikasikan dengan laporan kegiatan. Setiap laporan kegiatan pengabdian ini akan memaparkan hal-hal yang bersifat solutif bagi masyakata dan dapat di contoh oleh pengabdi lainnya. Skema kegitan dapat dilaksanakan secara kelompok yang terdiri dari dosen dan mahasiswa serta secara mandiri maupun di organisasi oleh Politeknik Pariwisata Batam melalui Puslitabmas. Adapun fokus dan scope publikasi kegiatan pengabdian melalui Jurnal Keker Wisata ini adalah Bansos, Sosialisasi, Pembinaan, Pelatihan, dan Pendampingan. Jurnal ini waktu terbitan dua kali dalam setahun yaitu pada bulan Januari dan Juli. Semua artikel pengabdian yang masuk melalui OJS Jurnal Kekeran ini akan diproses oleh reviewer yang telah ditatapkan Puslitabmas sebagai bagian dari Dewan Redaksi Jurnal Keker Wisata

Abstract

This community service program focuses on improving tourism services at Kamuella Resort through a synergy between academics and industry practitioners, aiming to respond to the need for high-quality services amidst rising tourist expectations, especially after the pandemic. This collaboration blends academic insights on traveler trends and preferences with practical expertise in the daily operations of the industry, resulting in a comprehensive and sustainable service improvement strategy. Implementation methods included intensive training of employees in customer service skills, improvement of standard operating procedures (SOPs) to align with the latest quality standards, and strengthening cross-departmental coordination to ensure service consistency in all aspects of resort operations. In addition, regular evaluations are conducted to monitor the implementation of SOPs and identify opportunities for improvement, so that employees' capabilities continue to improve and are able to meet guest expectations more effectively. The results of this program can be seen in improved employee skills, operational efficiency, and guest satisfaction as reflected in positive reviews and increased customer loyalty. In addition to the benefits to the resort, the program also created a model of collaboration that can be replicated in other tourist destinations, ultimately contributing to improved service standards in the local tourism sector. The overall program demonstrates the importance of partnerships between academia and industry to create responsive, high-quality services and build a reputation that supports the competitiveness and sustainability of the tourism sector.

Abstract

The Tourism Business Development Training for Students at MA Industri Al-Jabar Batam aims to provide students with essential skills and knowledge in tourism entrepreneurship. This program introduces concepts of tourism business, strategies for business growth, and current trends and innovations within the industry. Through engaging methods such as case studies, business simulations, and field activities, students are guided to explore potential business opportunities in their local communities. This training is intended to develop an entrepreneurial mindset, foster creativity and self-reliance, and prepare students to become active entrepreneurs in the tourism sector. The program's impact is expected to create graduates who are job-ready and contribute to local economic growth through tourism business initiatives.

Abstract

This Community Service Program (PKM) aims to enhance the skills of inmates at Lapas Class II Batam in calculating the production costs of beverages. These skills are essential to prepare them for entering the workforce or starting small businesses in the beverage sector after completing their sentences. The training involved lecturers from Politeknik Pariwisata Batam who provided practical knowledge on various components of production costs, such as raw material costs, labor costs, and operational expenses. Inmates were also taught how to determine profitable selling prices and strategies for efficient business management. The training methods included theoretical sessions, practical simulations, and interactive discussions to ensure a deep understanding among participants. The results of the training showed a significant improvement in the inmates’ understanding of production cost management. They were not only able to accurately calculate costs but also grasped financial management concepts that support small business operations. The sustainability of this program is supported by strong collaboration between Politeknik Pariwisata Batam and Lapas Class II Batam, as well as the provision of adequate facilities for training. With the integration of this program into the correctional facility's activities, it is expected that the training will continue and provide long-term positive impacts. In conclusion, this beverage production cost training plays an important role in empowering inmates with relevant skills, helping them adapt to the workforce, and opening up future business opportunities.

Abstract

Abstract This study explores the implementation of social assistance programs at Yaa Bunayya Orphanage in Batam City, Riau Islands Province. The orphanage serves as a haven for underprivileged and orphaned children, offering both care and education. Social assistance from the government and community is integral to ensuring the smooth operation of the orphanage and supporting the well-being of its residents. Using a qualitative approach with a case study method, data were collected through interviews with orphanage staff, donors, and the children. The findings highlight that the assistance provided includes financial aid, food, clothing, and educational support. The study also uncovers challenges in the distribution process and suggests strategies to improve the efficiency and impact of future assistance. These insights aim to emphasize the importance of collective efforts in enhancing the welfare of orphaned children and the sustainability of orphanage operations in Batam.

Abstract

Entrepreneurship training really needs to be applied in everyday life. This training can not only be carried out to the general public but also inmates. One of the materials that can be provided to inmates is entrepreneurship training in making creative mocktails. In this training, inmates at Lapas Kelas II (Class II Prison) in Barelang Batam were given material in the form of knowledge about mocktails, the equipment needed to make mocktails and how to use them and also the method of making and practicing making mocktails directly. Through this training, it is hoped that the inmates of Class II Barelang Prison will have knowledge about mocktails and be able to make mocktails so that they can become an entrepreneurial option when they are released from detention.

Abstract

The Barista and Mixology Business Development Training is a program designed to teach participants basic and advanced skills in two main areas: barista (coffee preparation) and mixology (preparation of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages). The main objective is to improve the quality and expertise in managing and developing businesses in these sectors. This training typically covers various topics, such as Barista Skills, Espresso coffee-making techniques, Latte art (the art of creating pictures on coffee with milk), Introduction to different types of coffee and how to choose them, Techniques for serving and interacting with customers, Mixology, Fundamentals of beverage preparation (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic), Combining ingredients and drink recipes, Aesthetics and presentation of beverages, Compliance with regulations in the beverage industry, Business Management, Business planning and marketing strategies, Inventory and cost management, Interpersonal skills and customer service. The participants of this training usually include business owners, managers, or individuals interested in starting or improving their business in the coffee and beverage industry. This training can be conducted in the form of intensive workshops, seminars, or long-term courses, depending on the organizer and the program's objectives.

Abstract

Social service is an activity carried out by individuals or groups with the aim of helping and providing benefits to communities in need. Typically, these activities are carried out voluntarily without expecting material rewards, but rather focusing on social and humanitarian concerns. Social service often includes activities such as: Distribution of staple goods (basic necessities) to underprivileged communities. Free medical treatment for those unable to afford healthcare costs. Education and training to enhance the skills of the community. Donations for disaster victims or communities in distress. Environmental clean-up or other activities aimed at improving the quality of life. The main goal of social service is to help alleviate the burdens of others, strengthen the bonds of brotherhood, and create a society that is more caring for one another. These activities are usually carried out by social institutions, community organizations, or youth groups with a spirit of mutual cooperation.

Abstract

This Community Service Programme (PKM) aims to improve the skills of inmates in Class II Batam Correctional Institution in barista training at class IIA Barelang correctional institution, batam city. This skill is very important to prepare them to enter the world of work or start a small business in the beverage field after completing their sentence. The training involved lecturers from Batam Tourism Polytechnic who provided practical knowledge on various components of making and preparing milk-based beverages such as cappuccino latte. The training methods used included theoretical sessions, practical simulations, and interactive discussions to ensure in-depth understanding among the participants. Training results. The participants were not only able to prepare and serve espresso-based coffee, but also had the skills to brew coffee using both manual and machine brewing equipment. The sustainability of the programme is supported by the strong collaboration between Batam Tourism Polytechnic and Batam Class II Correctional Facility, as well as the provision of adequate facilities for the training. By integrating the programme into prison activities, it is expected that the training will continue and have a long-term positive impact. In conclusion, this beverage production costing training plays an important role in empowering prisoners with relevant skills, helping them adapt to the world of work, and opening up future business opportunities.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve the understanding, skills, and attitudes of teachers, administrative staff, and students regarding excellent service implementation. This training employed the participatory action research (PAR) method, which actively involves all stakeholders in planning, executing, and evaluating the activity. The results indicate significant improvements in participants' understanding of the essential concepts of excellent service, including reliability (accuracy), responsiveness (quick response), empathy (emotional learning), assurance (trustworthiness), and tangibles (physical evidence). Participants experienced a shift in perspective, recognizing that excellent service is not merely administrative routines but a professional responsibility for building trust and satisfaction among service recipients. The training also highlighted a paradigm shift from traditional approaches to more participatory and solution-oriented practices, fostering a collaborative culture of continuous service improvement. Through simulations, case studies, and group discussions, participants were equipped with practical skills to apply excellent service concepts effectively. The impact of this training is reflected in improved service quality at MA Industri Al-Jabar, which contributes to enhancing the institution's credibility and satisfaction among students, parents, and the broader community. The findings emphasize the need for sustainable and ongoing training to ensure that excellent service becomes a core cultural practice within educational institutions.
