Abstract

The role of influencers Regional Head Elections in Indonesia has become a topic of interest in political and social discussions. In the digital and social media era, influencers play an important role in shaping public opinion and informing voters, especially the younger generation, about various political, social and economic issues that are key points in the election. This research aims to analyze the extent of the role of influencers in shaping public opinion in the digital era during the 2024 Regional Head Elections campaign. The research method used is a descriptive approach qualitative method with data collection through observation and content analysis on the Instagram social media platform. The results showed that the presence of influencers on social media has a significant influence in shaping public opinion, especially among the younger generation such as millennials and Gen Z. Influencers act as a communication bridge between politicians and the public, disseminating political information in an innovative and interesting way so as to increase political participation. The emotional connection built between influencers and their followers makes political messages better received.

Abstract

Video animation plays an important role in learning mathematics because it can present abstract concepts visually and interactively. In addition, the delivery of interesting material through animation can increase students' understanding and interest in learning. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the extent of students' needs in learning mathematics using discovery learning-based animated videos in junior high school. This research uses a quantitative method with a survey approach, where data is obtained through a questionnaire designed to collect information about students' needs for animated video-based learning media. Respondents in this study were thirty students from one of the junior high schools in Indonesia. Respondents were selected using purposive sampling technique. In the process of data analysis, this research utilizes Microsoft Excel to organize, process, and present data in the form of tabulations, tables, and diagrams. The analysis technique used is descriptive quantitative which includes the calculation of mean (average), median, and percentage. This statistical calculation is done to see the tendency of students' answers to the questions given in the questionnaire, so that an overview can be obtained about the extent of their needs for the use of Discovery Learning-based animated videos in learning mathematics. The findings are expected to be the basis for developing more effective and interesting animated video-based learning media. In addition, this research can also provide insight for educators in designing learning strategies that suit the needs of students, so as to improve students' understanding and learning outcomes.

Abstract

The upah-upah sanggot tradition is one of the cultural heritages used for the trauma healing process in indigenous communities in Indonesia. This research aims to find out the upah-upah songgot in the Batak toba custom as a post-disaster trauma healing effort carried out by one of the communities in Indonesia. This research uses qualitative methods, using primary and secondary sources. Data collection techniques were carried out by observation and interviews. Interview questions were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman approach and data validity was carried out using data triangulation. The research findings show that the upah-upah songgot custom is carried out in order to restore the spirit of the soul of individuals who feel threatened. Where they the family comes suddenly without notice by bringing food in the form of dekke (carp) arsik and rice to entertain families who experience calamity or illness. The process of implementing wage-upah is to gather together with the traumatized person who will usually be presented in the middle of the family who comes then disurduk (given) a dekke na niarsik (cook arsik) which has been arranged in a drained plate containing rice and Rudang, the hula-hula takes a handful of rice to put on the head of the sick and pray to the almighty to restore the spirit of life and healing. Giving a piece of ulos or sarong cloth that is placed behind the sick or the afflicted. After being given ulos, then eat together as well as pray together. Upah-upah songgot in the Toba Batak custom as a post-disaster trauma healing effort according to Batak culture is very effective in providing a spirit of life in obtaining healing. Upah-upah songgot in the Toba Batak custom as a trauma healing effort to be more successful requires the support of professional assistance in the sense that experts are assisted by psychiatrists or counselors.

Abstract

The phenomenon of online games is increasingly widespread among children, giving rise to various impacts in everyday life. This study aims to analyze the emotional stability of children addicted to playing the collaborative online game Free Fire and its impact on social relationships. This type of online game offers competitive and collaborative elements, allowing children to engage in virtual social interactions. This research uses a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews with five children aged 11-12 years, and documentation studies. The results revealed that most children play games intensively, more than 10 times a week, and tend to spend money on in-game purchases. Playing Free Fire affects children's emotional stability, leading to behaviors such as irritability and frustration when losing, as well as consumptive tendencies. But, their social relationships remain relatively intact, as the game provides a platform for interest-based social interaction. However, for some children, excessive focus on gaming can interfere with interactions with those around them. This study highlights the importance of time management and parental supervision to balance digital entertainment with children's emotional and social development. The findings contribute to the study of online gaming addiction, specifically focusing on gaming.

Abstract

The development of technology, especially gadgets, has changed the pattern of social interaction among adolescents, especially school students. The phenomenon of gadget dependence is increasing, which can reduce the intensity of direct interaction and face-to-face communication skills. This study aims to examine the impact of gadget use on students' social interactions. This research uses a qualitative method with a case study approach. This study involved students as research subjects. Data were collected through observation and in-depth interviews. The collected data were then analyzed to identify the impact of gadget use. The results showed that excessive gadget use can reduce social interaction with family and friends, social isolation, and decreased face-to-face communication skills. As an effort to overcome this, the school supervises the use of gadgets, educates the use of gadgets wisely by teachers, and some students try to manage gadget use by participating in social and sports activities.  The study emphasizes the importance of managing gadget use wisely and balancing digital activities with face-to-face social interactions.

Abstract

The family has an important role as the first madrasah in forming children's Islamic character, educating them to become a generation with noble morals. This article aims to analyze the role and function of the family in shaping the Islamic character of children in Indonesia. This analysis was carried out using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method based on PRISMA guidelines by analyzing 14 articles indexed by Scopus. The results of the analysis found five main functions of the family in shaping children's Islamic character, namely: i) religious function, which teaches religious values ​​as the basis of life; ii) love and protection function, which provides affection and a sense of security; iii) socio-cultural function, which introduces Islamic norms and culture; iv) educational function, which guides children to learn Islamic values ​​v) socialization function of Islamic values, which instills good manners and morals. These functions significantly support the formation of children's Islamic character in accordance with the goals of national education and the Independent Curriculum, which encourages synergy between formal and non-formal education. This analysis also emphasizes the importance of collaboration between families and educational institutions to strengthen the role of the family. This analysis also recommends the development of family-based education policies to create an Islamic generation with good and noble character.

Abstract

Innovation is one of the important keys in improving the competitiveness and sustainability of community economic enterprises. This study aims to analyze the mediating effect of innovation capability on market orientation and community economic business performance. This research uses a quantitative method with a survey type. Data sources were taken using a questionnaire with a total of 52 questionnaire items. Data from the questionnaire was taken from 150 respondents from a total population of 218. All data were correlation analyzed using SEM & PLS software version 3. The results showed that market orientation directly has a significant effect on innovation capability and community economic business performance. Indirectly, market orientation mediated by innovation capability has a significant influence on community economic enterprise performance. This study found that innovative capabilities and market focus have a real impact in determining the success of community economic enterprises. This finding is expected to contribute and information specifically to community economic businesses regarding the mediating role of innovation capabilities in the relationship between market orientation and community economic business performance.

Abstract

Social media plays an important role in student learning, offering a range of opportunities to access information in a fast and engaging way. However, uncontrolled use also presents challenges that can affect learning. This research aims to analyze the influence of social media on current students' learning styles, highlighting the opportunities that can be leveraged to support the learning process as well as the challenges that need to be overcome to minimize its negative impact. The research was conducted at Nahdlatul Ulama Sudirman Vocational High School. This research used a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and document analysis, and involved students, teachers, and the principal as the main participants. The results show that social media provides significant benefits in supporting independent learning, expanding access to information, and facilitating collaboration between students. However, distraction from irrelevant content is the main obstacle that affects learning focus. The implication of this study emphasizes the importance of digital literacy, time management, and guidance from teachers to optimize the use of social media as a learning tool. This research provides insights for educators in designing learning strategies that are relevant to students' needs in the digital era.

Abstract

Work safety and crew performance are very important focus areas in the high-risk maritime industry, as exemplified by shipping companies. This study aims to analyze the impact of leadership and managerial competence on crew motivation and performance, as well as their influence on work safety. This study uses quantitative methods with a causal design used to examine cause-and-effect relationships among variables, including leadership, managerial competence, work motivation, crew performance, and work safety. Data were collected through a survey using a Likert-scale questionnaire with five response levels. The respondents were crew members working for a shipping company. Additional data collection techniques included field observations and literature review to complement the theoretical insights. Data analysis was conducted using Structural Equation Modeling with SmartPLS software. The findings indicate that transformational leadership and managerial competence significantly influence work motivation and crew performance. Moreover, work motivation serves as a mediating variable, strengthening the relationships between leadership and performance, as well as managerial competence and occupational safety. This study emphasizes the crucial role of effective leadership in workplace safety within the maritime industry. Its implications suggest that companies should enhance competency-based training and leadership strategies to optimize crew performance and ensure sustainable workplace safety.

Abstract

A child's independence can flourish and develop further when intentional efforts are made to nurture this trait. In many cases, students tend to rely heavily on their teachers for assistance during classroom activities. Efforts to cultivate character aligned with the cultural values of Thailand nation extend beyond the confines of the school setting; they permeate children's daily lives through consistent introduction and habituation practices. Character development is encouraged not only through classroom and extracurricular activities but also through intentional integration into their everyday interactions and routines. This study thus seeks to explore the impact of the Student-Centered Learning (SCL) approach on fostering student independence at Wittaya Panya School, Thailand. Utilizing a qualitative, descriptive research methodology, this study was conducted at Wittaya Panya School in Khlong Chalem, Kong Ra District, Patthalung Province, Thailand. Data sources comprised primary and secondary data, collected through observation, interviews, and literature review. Findings from this study indicate that by employing a Student-Centered Learning approach, teachers can effectively instill and strengthen the independence of students, which can be integrated into their daily learning processes.
