Abstract

This study explores the effect of loose parts media on improving pattern recognition in 4-5-year-olds at Nusa Indah Kindergarten, motivated by the need to find innovative approaches to enhance early childhood education. Early recognition of patterns is a fundamental cognitive skill that supports later academic learning, particularly in mathematics and literacy. Therefore, the objective of this research is to determine the effectiveness of loose parts media in fostering the development of pattern recognition skills among young children. The study employs a descriptive qualitative approach, gathering data through interviews with teachers and documentation of classroom activities. The results indicate that the use of loose parts media, which involves natural or everyday objects that children can manipulate, significantly enhances their ability to recognize and create patterns. The children engaged more deeply with the learning material, demonstrated improved focus, and exhibited a higher level of creativity in their responses. The study concludes that incorporating loose parts media into early childhood education provides a more interactive and effective method for addressing challenges related to pattern recognition. It also suggests that such media can make learning more enjoyable and meaningful, thereby fostering a positive attitude towards learning in young children. This research offers valuable insights for educators, emphasizing the importance of adopting innovative and child-centered teaching strategies to enhance cognitive development in early learners.

Abstract

The development of children who are stimulated by their parents regularly and purposefully will develop faster than children who are not stimulated. Most parents do not really understand this, many parents think that if the child is not sick then the child does not experience health problems including growth and development. Stimulation using Brain Gym very important because this method can significantly improve children's brain performance and learning abilities. The purpose of this study was to determine whether there is an effect of Brain Gym the psychomotor development of children aged 3rd-6th years at Harapan Bangsa Playground Pandak and Masyithoh Kauman Kindergarten Bantul.  The research technique used was a quasi-experiment with a total sample of 106 children divided into control and intervention groups. Data was collected using the Instrument of Developmental Achievement of Children aged-6th years. The data analysis used is the Mann Withney Test and after being given Brain Gym stimulation, the results of P value 0.000 are smaller than 0.05 (p-value <0.05), these results indicate that Brain Gym has a significant influence on psychomotor development in preschool children

Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the improvement of fine motor skills in young children through origami-playing activities. By playing origami, children's fine motor skills will improve. Paper folding activities will ensure that children use their small muscles to fold the paper that has been provided, so that the small muscles will be sharpened to the maximum. This research uses classroom action research. The data required for this research was collected through observation of the implementation of origami or paper folding activities. During the learning and observation process, the researcher also noted things related to the problem that were in accordance with the researcher's focus. Based on the results of classroom action research (PTK) and data analysis carried out collaboratively between teachers and researchers, it can be concluded that the activity of folding origami paper can improve children's fine motor skills, which can be seen in the increase from cycle I, which obtained a percentage of 55.55% of children. Classical children who were at the minimum criteria for developing according to expectations experienced an increase in cycle II, which obtained a percentage of 94.45% of classical children who were at the minimum criteria for developing according to expectations.

Abstract

Early childhood is a golden period where a child's brain develops and absorbs various things optimally at the same time, so it is an ideal period to lay the foundation for his future life. The aim of this research is to determine the effect of scissors on fine motor skills in young children. The cutting activity is designed to train children's fine motor skills, especially their fingers. The research method used is quantitative research using a single pre-test and post-test group as the research design. The data analysis technique uses a paired sample t-test, one of the test methods used to evaluate the effectiveness of treatment, which characterizes the difference in average values before and after the start of treatment. Based on the research results, in the mandatory test using the normality test and homogeneity test, the sign value for the normality test was 0.200 and the sign value for the homogeneity test was 0.400. In the paired sample test, after the test was carried out, it was found that the sign value was 0.000, where this sign value was less than 0.05. This study concluded that there was an influence of cutting activities on fine motor skills of children.

Abstract

This study assesses the digital competencies and training needs of early childhood education (PAUD) teachers in Kecamatan Batujajar, West Bandung Regency. emphasizing their use of digital educational games. A survey was conducted to evaluate teachers' skills and confidence with computer technologies and educational software. Results indicate a significant gap in digital literacy; most teachers lack fundamental computer skills and familiarity with digital tools, despite acknowledging their benefits for enhancing student engagement. This research advocates for targeted digital literacy training tailored to early childhood educators, focusing on both technical skills and pedagogical methods for effective technology integration. The study also recommends ongoing professional development to help teachers overcome technological barriers. This work is novel in pinpointing the specific digital adoption challenges faced by PAUD teachers and suggests focused training programs to enhance their digital capabilities, which is crucial for improving educational outcomes.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to develop interactive multimedia for introducing letters and numbers that can be used in the learning process in kindergartens. This study uses the 4D development model, which includes the stages of define, design, develop, and disseminate. The data collection techniques used in this research are observation and questionnaires. The data analysis was conducted using Likert scale measurements. Overall, the developed interactive learning media has undergone a series of feasibility tests from various aspects, both by media experts and content experts. According to the media experts' assessment, this media obtained an average percentage of 91.67%, which falls into the "very feasible" category. This indicates that the media, both visually and functionally, meets the expected standards in educational media development. Additionally, the validation carried out by content experts, who evaluated aspects such as curriculum, material, evaluation questions, language, design, animation, and ease of use, resulted in an average percentage of 77.23%, categorized as feasible. This learning media is considered sufficiently effective and appropriate for use in the context of kindergarten education.
