Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of applying behavioral counseling with modeling techniques to improve the self-confidence of eleventh-grade students with intellectual disabilities at SLB As’Adiyah Cabenge, Soppeng Regency. This research employed a quantitative approach with an A-B-A-B Single Subject Research (SSR) experimental design. Data collection techniques involved observation sheets in the form of a checklist assessment scale during the experiment (Baseline B1-B2) intervention when applying behavioral counseling techniques with modeling techniques. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, both within and between conditions. The results showed that the application of behavioral counseling with modeling techniques had a significant impact on increasing the self-confidence of students with intellectual disabilities. This was evident from the increase in scores during the intervention phase (B1) compared to the initial baseline phase (A1), as well as the stability of scores in the final baseline phase (A2), indicating that the intervention effect was sustainable. Repeated intervention in phase (B2) also showed higher score increases compared to baseline phase 2 (A2). There were clear changes between baseline A1, intervention B1, baseline A2, and intervention B2. At baseline A1, students showed low self-confidence (average score 50), but then increased to 55.7–72 in the B1 intervention phase. The sustainability of the intervention effect was observed in the baseline A2 phase, where the obtained score of 55.7 increased to 61.5. Subsequently, the intervention (B2) was repeated, resulting in a score increase from 61.5 to 75. Thus, this intervention was effective in increasing the self-confidence of students with intellectual disabilities at SLB As’Adiyah Cabenge, Soppeng Regency.

Abstract

Islamic boarding schools are educational institutions that play a crucial role in nurturing future generations who are not only intellectually intelligent but also possess strong religious values. The process of adapting new students to the unique and structured rules and culture of an Islamic boarding school is of utmost importance. Inadequate adaptation can hinder students' success in adapting to boarding school life. The research problem focuses on how the Awwalussanah Programme functions as a means of adaptation for new students at the An-Nur Lempuing OKI Islamic Boarding School and the factors influencing the programme's effectiveness. The research objective is to describe and analyse the implementation of the programme in relation to the adaptation process of new students. The research method used is a qualitative approach with a descriptive approach. Data was collected through observation, interviews, and documentation from key informants such as the Head of Education, supervisors, teachers, and new students. Data analysis was conducted through reduction, presentation, verification, and drawing conclusions, with data validity tested using source triangulation and techniques. The results of the study indicate that the Awwalussanah Program is effective as a means of adaptation for new students, although there are challenges such as time constraints and the diversity of students' backgrounds, which influence the adaptation process. This program helps students adjust to the boarding school environment through various orientation activities and mentoring. The Awwalussanah Programme plays a significant role in facilitating the adaptation process for new students at the An-Nur Lempuing OKI Islamic Boarding School, with recommendations for improving time management and adopting an inclusive approach in programme implementation. Despite the challenges, the programme successfully creates a more conducive environment for new students to adapt to boarding school life.

Abstract

Islamic education requires an effective approach to shaping students' character and behavior, one of which is through behaviorist learning theory, which emphasizes the relationship between stimulus and response. Although widely used, the application of this theory in the context of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) still faces various challenges, such as a lack of student creativity and suboptimal reinforcement that supports positive behavioral change. This study aims to analyze the implications of behaviorist theory in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning and identify its advantages and disadvantages. The type of research is library research using content analysis techniques. Data were collected from written sources related to behaviorist theory and PAI learning, then analyzed systematically. The results show that behaviorist theory is effective in shaping student behavior and discipline, but tends to limit the space for creativity and innovation. The main obstacles include a lack of teacher motivation and adequate facilities. In conclusion, this theory is relevant for implementation, but needs to be combined with other approaches to make the learning process more enjoyable and sustainable.

Abstract

This study explores the role of Digital Cooperative Learning (DCL) in reducing student stress and improving sleep quality through a traditional literature review based on sources from the Scopus database. As students face increasing academic pressure and extended screen exposure, especially in the post-pandemic learning landscape, DCL emerges as a promising pedagogical strategy that integrates collaborative learning with digital platforms. Findings indicate that DCL enhances student engagement, motivation, and critical thinking while simultaneously creating socially supportive environments that alleviate stress. Furthermore, cooperative digital settings foster emotional well-being and can indirectly improve sleep patterns by reducing anxiety and academic overload. However, the implementation of DCL is challenged by limited access to digital infrastructure, disparities in digital literacy, and a lack of psychological support systems. Successful adoption requires well-prepared educators, inclusive learning designs, and institutional investment in mental health integration. The study concludes that DCL, when designed with attention to both technological and psychosocial dimensions, has the potential to be a holistic educational approach that supports academic achievement and student wellness in the 21st-century digital classroom.

Abstract

Study aims to develop the “Perisai Diri” digital comic, based on the Siri’ Na Pacce cultural values, to prevent sexual harassment among students at UPT SPF SMP Negeri 5 Makassar. Sexual harassment is any form of sexually connotative act carried out without the consent of the other party or through coercion. Therefore, there is a need for effective information service media that can deliver educational messages to both victims and potential perpetrators, incorporating strong local cultural values in an engaging format. The main focus of this study includes four aspects: (1) identifying the needs for developing the “Perisai Diri” digital comic based on Siri’ Na Pacce culture, (2) designing the prototype of the comic, (3) assessing the validity of the media, and (4) assessing the practicality of the media. The research employed a modified Borg & Gall development model, consisting of seven stages: preliminary study, initial design planning, prototype development, expert validation, product revision, limited trials, and refinement. Data were collected through questionnaires, expert validation sheets, and instruments for measuring practicality and effectiveness. The findings show that the “Perisai Diri” digital comic is considered highly necessary and relevant by students and guidance counselors. The media proved effective and practical in supporting digital guidance and counseling services. Abstract

Rapid technological advances coupled with high mobile connectivity have driven an increase in social media usage, particularly among students. This is because students are in the emerging adulthood phase, a transitional phase from late adolescence to early adulthood, during which social media is often used to support developmental tasks. However, intensive social media use also poses risks to mental health, one of which is the emergence of the phenomenon known as fear of missing out (FoMO). FoMO drives the urge to stay constantly connected to social media, potentially leading to excessive digital consumption patterns. This study aims to analyze the relationship between fear of missing out (FoMO) and social media engagement among students at Semarang State University as a basis for formulating strategies to optimize social media use and prevent its negative impacts. This study used a quantitative approach with a correlational research design, and the data analysis technique used was simple linear regression. The population in this study consisted of 375 students selected using proportional stratified random sampling. The instruments used included the Fear of Missing Out Scale: FoMOs and the Social Media Engagement Scale for Adolescents (SMES-A). Data analysis revealed a positive correlation between fear of missing out and social media engagement, with values of R = 0.952, R² = 0.907, and B = 0.721. These results indicate that an increase in fear of missing out influences students' social media engagement. This finding underscores the importance of interventions that promote healthy and proportional use of social media.
