Abstract

Islamic Religious Education (PAI) in the digital era faces serious challenges due to fundamental shifts in the characteristics and learning needs of students who are increasingly immersed in digital ecosystems. This study aims to analyze the characteristics and learning needs of PAI students in the digital era as a basis for developing Merdeka Curriculum-based learning designs. A qualitative approach was employed using library research method through content analysis of relevant scientific literature. The findings reveal that PAI students in the digital era are characterized as digital natives with visual and interactive learning preferences; they require contextual content, varied digital media, active-collaborative methods, and differentiated approaches. The learning environment is marked by opportunities such as expanded access and gamification, while simultaneously threatened by digital distraction and unverified religious content. Based on these findings, a responsive PAI learning design under the Merdeka Curriculum can be constructed upon five core principles: differentiated learning, pedagogical technology integration, Pancasila Student Profile reinforcement, Islamic project-based learning, and authentic digital assessment.

Abstract

Education plays a strategic role in shaping quality human resources through the implementation of educational quality management and the improvement of teacher quality as the main implementers of the learning process. This study was motivated by the importance of the role of educational institution leaders in fostering, directing, and empowering teachers to achieve optimal education quality. The purpose of this study was to analyze the implementation and strategies used by educational institution leaders in improving quality management among teachers at MTs Negeri 1 and MTs Negeri 2 in Serang Regency. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted using the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that educational institution leaders have implemented quality management by applying five competencies of madrasah principals, namely personality, managerial, entrepreneurial, supervisory, and social competencies. This implementation is realized through systematic program planning, continuous academic supervision, and teacher professional development through MGMP activities, workshops, seminars, and performance monitoring. Improvements in education quality were also made through the integrated management of inputs, processes, outputs, and outcomes. Supporting factors in the implementation of quality management included the leadership competencies of madrasah principals, teacher commitment and participation, a collaborative work culture, and the use of technology and managerial innovation. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factors include differences in teachers' understanding of quality management, limited time for professional development, limited infrastructure, and resistance to change. Overall, participatory and collaborative leadership has proven to be able to improve the quality of education and teachers in madrasahs.

Abstract

Transformasi digital di sektor pendidikan menuntut kepala sekolah untuk mengambil keputusan strategis berbasis data yang akurat, cepat, dan relevan. Sistem Informasi Manajemen Pendidikan (SIMP) dan penguatan budaya digital sekolah dipandang sebagai dua faktor penting yang dapat meningkatkan kualitas pengambilan keputusan strategis terutama di Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK) yang sangat bergantung pada kesesuaian kebijakan dengan kebutuhan dunia kerja. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis pengaruh implementasi SIMP dan budaya digital sekolah terhadap efektivitas pengambilan keputusan strategis kepala SMK. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan rancangan explanatory survey. Responden adalah kepala sekolah dan wakil kepala sekolah SMK, dengan instrumen skala Likert yang mengukur tingkat implementasi SIMP, budaya digital sekolah, serta efektivitas pengambilan keputusan strategis. Analisis data meliputi statistik deskriptif, korelasi, dan regresi linier berganda. Hasil simulasi data menunjukkan bahwa baik implementasi SIMP maupun budaya digital sekolah berkontribusi positif terhadap efektivitas pengambilan keputusan strategis kepala sekolah, dengan pengaruh budaya digital relatif lebih kuat. Temuan ini mengisyaratkan pentingnya pengembangan ekosistem digital sekolah yang terpadu, tidak hanya sebatas pengadaan aplikasi, tetapi juga pembiasaan praktik kerja berbasis data dan kolaborasi digital di lingkungan SMK.

Abstract

Islamic educational institutions face increasing leadership challenges in the era of globalization and digital transformation. Issues such as limited leadership innovation, low leadership confidence, and weak decision-making capacity often hinder institutional development and competitiveness. This study aims to examine how Self-Efficacy Theory can serve as a conceptual solution to leadership problems in Islamic educational institutions. The research employs a qualitative approach using library research by analyzing relevant scholarly literature published between 2018 and 2023 on educational leadership, psychological competence, and Islamic education management. The findings indicate that leadership effectiveness is strongly influenced by psychological competence, particularly self-efficacy, which shapes leaders’ confidence, motivation, and persistence in managing organizational challenges. Leaders with strong self-efficacy are more likely to initiate innovation, make strategic decisions, and foster collaborative organizational cultures. The study also identifies four major sources of self-efficacy—mastery experiences, vicarious experiences, social persuasion, and emotional regulation—as key factors in strengthening leadership capacity. Integrating self-efficacy with Islamic leadership values such as responsibility (amanah), perseverance, and spiritual resilience can contribute to the development of adaptive, innovative, and effective leadership in Islamic educational institutions. Therefore, strengthening leaders’ self-efficacy should become an important component of leadership development programs in Islamic education.

Abstract

This study examines the importance of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) and moral education in shaping the character of elementary school students in the modern era. Character is a fundamental foundation for children’s personality development that will determine their future. The research problem focuses on how PAI and moral education can play an optimal role in character formation among elementary school students, considering that the age period of 6–12 years is a critical stage for character development. The objective of this study is to analyze the role of PAI and moral education, identify effective implementation strategies, and provide development recommendations. The research method employs a qualitative approach through literature review and comparative analysis of various related studies. The findings indicate that PAI and moral education play a strategic role in shaping religious character, noble morals, and balanced personalities. Comparisons with previous studies show consistent findings regarding the importance of integrating religious and moral values in children’s education. The study concludes that synergy between PAI and moral education, supported by collaboration among all educational stakeholders, can optimize character development in elementary school students to face contemporary challenges

Abstract

This study examines an innovative approach in teaching Islamic Religious Education (PAI) subjects by using learning techniques that involve games to learn Surah Ad Duha. The research is carried out by reviewing and analyzing various existing literature to find out the extent to which the learning method through games can help students better understand the meaning and teachings in Surah Ad Duha. The results of the study show that teaching and learning strategies that use games are proven to increase students' enthusiasm for learning, deepen their understanding, and help students better appreciate the values of Islamic teachings. This research makes an important contribution in developing a more efficient way of teaching PAI and attracting students' interest.

Abstract

Education is a fundamental right for every citizen and a crucial factor in human development. To broaden learning access for children from low‑income families, BAZNAS of Palembang City launched the “Palembang Cerdas” education assistance program. This study evaluates the program’s implementation effectiveness, its oversight mechanisms, and the challenges encountered during the 2021‑2023 period. The methodology includes literature review, field observation, in‑depth interviews with beneficiaries and BAZNAS officials, and analysis of administrative documents. Findings show that applying the principles of right targeting, right purpose, right quantity, right timing, and right administration enhanced transparency and accountability in the allocation of zakat, infaq, and sadaqah funds, resulting in a significant increase in scholarships disbursed and a reduction of educational disparity in Palembang. However, three major obstacles were identified: (1) limited human resources, (2) an administrative system that is not yet fully digitized, and (3) sub‑optimal inter‑institutional coordination. Recommendations include strengthening human‑resource capacity through specialized training, implementing a real‑time, dashboard‑driven information system, and deepening collaboration with local government, educational institutions, and the private sector. Implementing these suggestions is expected to not only improve the quality and equity of education in Palembang but also position “Palembang Cerdas” as a replicable model for similar education assistance programs nationwide.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the Islamic educational values embedded in the ziarah kubur (grave visitation) tradition practiced by the community of Tanjung Menang Musi Village, Rantau Bayur District, Banyuasin Regency. This tradition is not merely a religious ritual but also serves as a medium of social and spiritual learning that contributes to the moral and character formation of the community. The research employs a qualitative descriptive approach through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation. The findings reveal four main dimensions of Islamic educational values within the ziarah kubur tradition: (1) the religious dimension, which cultivates faith in Allah and awareness of mortality; (2) the moral and ethical dimension, which fosters humility, sincerity, and respect for ancestors; (3) the socio-educational dimension, which strengthens brotherhood, cooperation, and social responsibility; and (4) the internalization dimension, which transforms these values into daily religious and communal practices. These results affirm that local Islamic traditions can serve as effective forms of non-formal Islamic education, consistent with Albert Bandura’s social learning theory and Thomas Lickona’s character education theory. Thus, the ziarah kubur tradition functions as a form of cultural da’wah that integrates spiritual, moral, and social aspects within the framework of Islamic education in the community.

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education (PAI) in the 21st century is required not only to transfer religious knowledge but also to holistically develop students' critical thinking skills and 21st-century competencies. However, the reality in the field shows that PAI learning is still dominated by conventional methods that are less capable of optimally developing students' critical thinking abilities and 21st-century skills. This study aims to: (1) describe the planning and implementation of Project Based Learning (PjBL) in PAI; (2) analyze the development of 21st-century skills through PjBL in PAI; (3) examine the improvement of students' critical thinking skills through PjBL in PAI; and (4) analyze the relevance of PjBL to Islamic values and student character formation. This study employs a qualitative approach with a library research design, collecting and analyzing reputable national and international journal articles published between 2020 and 2025. The results show that the implementation of PjBL in PAI is proven effective in developing 21st-century skills including critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity, while simultaneously internalizing Islamic values and forming students' character holistically and sustainably. PjBL is a highly relevant learning model and is recommended to be consistently applied in PAI learning at various educational levels.

Abstract

This research is entitled "Application of Individual Counseling with Cognitive Restructuring Techniques to Reduce Stress in Clients Who Are Pregnant Out of Wedlock". The background of this research is stress. Stress is defined as the inability to overcome threats faced by humans mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually, which at some point can affect the human's physical condition. Therefore, providing individual counseling using cognitive restructuring techniques will be very effective in reducing the stress experienced by clients.  This research aims to determine individual counseling using cognitive restructuring techniques to reduce stress in T clients who are pregnant out of wedlock. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study type of research. Data collection tools include interviews, observation and documentation. Meanwhile, data analysis techniques are data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The subject of this research was 1 teenage girl aged 15 years. The results of this research show that after carrying out the individual counseling process in 4 meetings using cognitive restructuring techniques, it can reduce the stress experienced by client T who is pregnant out of wedlock. The stages of individual counseling using cognitive restructuring techniques in reducing stress in T clients who are pregnant out of wedlock are using the initial stage, transition stage, activity stage and final stage.
