Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze in depth the coaching management carried out by the principal in an effort to improve the personality competence of teachers in elementary schools. Teacher personality competence, which includes aspects such as integrity, emotional stability, responsibility, and the ability to collaborate, is an important foundation in creating a conducive and effective learning environment for students. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study design, which allows researchers to explore the phenomenon contextually and in depth. Data were collected through a combination of methods, including in-depth interviews with principals and teachers, direct observation of coaching interactions and school activities, and analysis of relevant documents such as teacher development plans and supervision notes. The results of the study indicate that effective principals implement coaching management with various strategies, including: (1) setting clear and measurable goals, (2) providing specific and ongoing constructive feedback, (3) personal emotional and motivational support, (4) facilitating self-reflection and developing action plans, and (5) creating a collaborative culture that supports peer learning. These strategies are significant in increasing teacher self-confidence, motivation, and professionalism, as well as having a positive impact on the quality of teacher-student interactions in the classroom. In addition, this study also identified challenges and barriers faced in implementing coaching, such as time constraints, lack of formal coaching training, and teacher resistance to change. Based on these findings, the study provides practical recommendations for principals, supervisors, and other education stakeholders to strengthen coaching management and ensure the sustainability of teacher personality competency development.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of Al-Farabi’s educational philosophy on the development of teaching methods in Islamic religious education and to formulate an actionable pedagogical model based on his thought. Employing a qualitative library-research methodology, this investigation critically reviews primary and secondary sources pertaining to Al-Farabi’s educational philosophy and its relevance within a contemporary Islamic educational context. The findings reveal that Al-Farabi’s core principles namely the integration of reason and revelation, the concept of felicity (al-saʿādah), and the vision of the virtuous city (al-madīnah al-faḍīlah) provide a robust foundation for designing an integrated curriculum, positioning the teacher as a philosophical mediator, and cultivating a learning environment conducive to the formation of the insān kāmil (perfect human) and a civilized society. This study further proposes a novel theoretical framework entitled Falsafiyyah Tarbawiyyah, structured around three pillars: Taʿlīm al-Maʿqūl wa al-Manqūl (rational-textual instruction), Taḥzīb al-ʿAql wa al-Qalb (purification of intellect and heart), and Takwīn al-Mujtamaʿ al-Faḍīl (formation of an exemplary society). In conclusion, Al-Farabi’s educational philosophy proves not only theoretically pertinent but also practically applicable in developing holistic and transformative teaching methods for Islamic religious education, thereby addressing the challenges of modern Islamic pedagogy. The proposed model opens avenues for more innovative and contextually relevant educational practices.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze how planning and evaluation within the implementation of School-Based Management (SBM) contribute to improving the performance of Madrasah Tsanawiyah (Islamic junior secondary schools). The research focuses on the integration between participatory planning and continuous evaluation as foundational pillars in strengthening institutional management in Islamic education. A qualitative approach with a case study method was employed, involving two schools in Bandung Regency: MTs Mekar Jaya Bandung and MTsS Amal Sholeh Sukamaju. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis, and were processed using thematic analysis techniques. The findings reveal that planning based on the Madrasah Self-Evaluation (EDM), supported by the use of the digital budgeting system e-RKAM and inclusive stakeholder involvement, provides strategic direction for school management. Systematic evaluations enable schools to revise their action plans based on actual achievements and contextual challenges. Public madrasahs demonstrated higher effectiveness in implementing SBM, particularly in leveraging technology and conducting structured evaluations. The study concludes that the synergy between planning and evaluation within SBM is a key factor in driving sustainable performance improvement in madrasahs, particularly when aligned with local needs. The findings suggest the importance of enhancing contextual managerial capacity and formulating adaptive policies to support diverse madrasah conditions.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and reconstruct Ibn Sina's thought on the methodology of Islamic Religious Education (IRE) and examine its application in the context of the digital era. The research employs a literature study method using content analysis and philosophical hermeneutics approaches to explore Ibn Sina’s works alongside contemporary literature on IRE and educational technology. The findings reveal that Ibn Sina’s methodological principles such as balancing theory and practice, adapting pedagogical methods to learner characteristics, and strengthening morality through exemplification are highly relevant for contextualization in digital Islamic education. The proposed Blended Spiritual-Connected Learning (BSCL) model integrates Ibn Sina’s traditional instructional philosophy with adaptive digital technologies, demonstrating improved effectiveness in both cognitive and affective learning dimensions. Furthermore, the development of the Quantum Tadabbur Framework (QTF) provides a theoretical bridge between spiritual values and the complexities of digital learning systems. In conclusion, the integration of Ibn Sina’s educational thought with digital technology not only enriches Islamic pedagogy but also offers a holistic, value-based approach to addressing the challenges of the digital age. The study recommends the development of educational technology and policy frameworks grounded in maqashid sharia principles to support the broader implementation of such learning models.

Abstract

The phenomenon of Indonesian migrant workers (TKI) for the Indonesian people reflects an effort to improve the family's economic level. However, children without parental figures will experience complex psychological consequences. This study aims to investigate the extent of the influence of adversity quotient parenting to analyze the psychological conditions of children whose parents work as TKI. The research method used is a narrative qualitative design involving three informants of children whose parents are migrant workers. Data were collected through in-depth interviews in several sessions and analyzed using thematic analysis. The main findings show that children who are able to manage their emotions and remain resilient under pressure demonstrate active engagement in the four dimensions of AQ. The child's ability to calm down and maintain emotional stability reflects the control dimension. The origin & ownership dimension is reflected in the attitude of not blaming circumstances but rather taking responsibility for personal responses. The reach dimension is seen when children can limit the impact of difficulties so that they do not interfere with other aspects of their lives. Meanwhile, the endurance dimension is manifested in their optimism that difficult situations are temporary. Nevertheless, some children still experience psychological distress but can overcome it with the right support. This study has implications related to handling the psychology of children whose parents work as migrant workers. There is a need for family counseling services for parents, guardians, and children regarding the adversity quotient-parenting awareness as a provision and readiness before leaving them to work abroad.

Abstract

The advancement of digital technology has increased the opportunities for university students to engage in cyberloafing, which refers to the use of the internet for non-academic activities during lectures. This study aims to analyze the relationship between external locus of control and cyberloafing behavior by examining the mediating role of academic self-efficacy. Using a correlational research design, data were collected from 345 students who completed scales measuring external locus of control, academic self-efficacy, and cyberloafing. Data were analyzed through bootstrapping techniques (N = 5000) using Hayes' PROCESS Model 4. The results indicate that external locus of control has a significant negative effect on cyberloafing (β = -0.36). However, academic self-efficacy partially mediates this relationship by exerting a positive indirect effect (β = 0.10). These findings suggest that although academic self-efficacy generally has beneficial effects, in certain contexts it may foster overconfidence that actually increases the tendency to engage in cyberloafing. This study highlights the importance of strengthening academic self-efficacy alongside self-control training to reduce deviant behaviors within digital learning environments.

Abstract

The mind mapping model can make students think critically and convey as much information as possible. The use of technology-based Mind Mapping learning models is still not widely applied in schools; teachers tend to still use manual methods, memorizing, and giving assignments, so that students are less enthusiastic or interested in the learning process. The purpose of this study is 1). Knowing the application of technology-based Mind Mapping learning models in ICT learning, 2). Assessing students' critical thinking skills in the application of the Mind Mapping learning model, 3). Assessing the influence of technology-based Mind Mapping learning models on students' critical thinking skills in terms of gender. The results of the study show that the mind mapping method can increase students' average scores by up to 25% within two learning cycles. The method used is descriptive analysis using pre-test and post-test, which are then further analyzed using Microsoft Excel data analysis to test validity, normality, T-test, and Shapiro-Wilk test to see the effect. Based on the results of the correlation test, the results were 0.548 while the r table value was 0.361, so it can be concluded that 0.548> 0.361 means there is a relationship between the two. Based on the results of the correlation test of 0.548, it is in the high or strong relationship category. It can be concluded that the criteria for the strength of the relationship between pretest and posttest learning outcomes show a very strong relationship, which indicates a significant increase in students' critical thinking skills after participating in the mind mapping method-based learning process. This reflects the effectiveness of the mind mapping method applied and provides an impact on critical thinking in the Tik lesson on the ethics of social media use by students.
