Abstract

Religious character education plays a crucial role in shaping students' personalities in an increasingly complex era of globalization. This study aims to explore how religious character education can be implemented in formal and non-formal education contexts and its impact on students' character development. The method used in this study is a literature review, which involves analyzing various sources, including books, journal articles, and educational policy documents. The results of the study indicate that religious character education not only focuses on teaching religious values but also encompasses the development of morality, ethics, empathy, and tolerance. In addition, religious character education also prepares students to face challenges in the era of globalization and digitalization. Thus, religious character education serves as a foundation that guides behavior, strengthens identity, and shapes students' moral resilience, so that they can contribute positively to life in a diverse society.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the tahfīẓ class program in improving the quality of Qur’anic learning outcomes among students at the elementary school level. The research focuses on how the program contributes to students’ memorization achievement, reading accuracy, learning attitudes, and practical recitation skills. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed to obtain an in-depth understanding of the program implementation and its learning outcomes. Data were collected through classroom observations, interviews with tahfīẓ teachers and school stakeholders, and documentation analysis. The data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the tahfīẓ class program is effective in enhancing students’ Qur’anic learning outcomes across cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains. The use of structured instructional planning, consistent application of talaqqī and murāja‘ah methods, and continuous evaluation supported students’ memorization accuracy, discipline, and fluency in recitation. Additionally, parental involvement and a supportive learning environment played a significant role in sustaining learning consistency. Despite challenges related to students’ concentration and developmental characteristics, the program demonstrated strong potential as a holistic model for Qur’anic education in elementary schools.

Abstract

Study aims to develop the “Perisai Diri” digital comic, based on the Siri’ Na Pacce cultural values, to prevent sexual harassment among students at UPT SPF SMP Negeri 5 Makassar. Sexual harassment is any form of sexually connotative act carried out without the consent of the other party or through coercion. Therefore, there is a need for effective information service media that can deliver educational messages to both victims and potential perpetrators, incorporating strong local cultural values in an engaging format. The main focus of this study includes four aspects: (1) identifying the needs for developing the “Perisai Diri” digital comic based on Siri’ Na Pacce culture, (2) designing the prototype of the comic, (3) assessing the validity of the media, and (4) assessing the practicality of the media. The research employed a modified Borg & Gall development model, consisting of seven stages: preliminary study, initial design planning, prototype development, expert validation, product revision, limited trials, and refinement. Data were collected through questionnaires, expert validation sheets, and instruments for measuring practicality and effectiveness. The findings show that the “Perisai Diri” digital comic is considered highly necessary and relevant by students and guidance counselors. The media proved effective and practical in supporting digital guidance and counseling services. Therefore, the “Perisai Diri” digital comic is recommended as an innovative medium that can effectively address students’ needs, particularly in preventing sexual harassment.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) model integrated with Virtual Field Trips (VFT) and multimedia, as well as to explore its impact on student motivation and learning outcomes in the Islamic Cultural History (SKI) subject at MAN Landak. This research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive case study design. Data collection techniques include participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies, which were then analyzed using the interactive model by Miles, Huberman, and Saldana, and validated through source and technique triangulation. The results indicate a fundamental transformation from a conventional learning pattern to a constructivist pattern that positions students as active subjects. The dynamics of student learning activities consistently increased from the moderate category (score 2.8) in the first meeting to the very good category (score 3.7) in the final meeting. Additionally, the average motivation score increased by 1.2 points, with the highest increase observed in the curiosity aspect, and student learning outcomes experienced a significant improvement, where the "Very Good" grade category rose from 5% to 35%. In conclusion, the integration of CTL and VFT is proven to be valid and effective as a pedagogical solution to overcome learning boredom, enhance historical literacy, and significantly improve student academic achievement.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the direct and indirect relationships between principals’ instructional leadership, job satisfaction, work commitment, and teacher performance in public elementary schools in North Banjarmasin District, Banjarmasin City. The research employed a cross-sectional design using a path analysis model to examine the relationships among variables. The population consisted of 309 teachers from 27 public elementary schools in the district. Using the probability simple random sampling technique, 174 teachers were selected as research respondents. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive statistics, classical assumption tests, hypothesis testing, and path analysis. The results indicate that all research variables are categorized as high. The regression coefficient values show strong relationships among variables, including instructional leadership and teacher performance (0.825), job satisfaction and teacher performance (0.829), work commitment and teacher performance (0.816), instructional leadership and work commitment (0.783), and job satisfaction and work commitment (0.486). The analysis also reveals indirect relationships, where instructional leadership influences teacher performance through work commitment (0.337) and job satisfaction affects teacher performance through work commitment (0.3691). These findings demonstrate that principals’ instructional leadership, teachers’ job satisfaction, and work commitment significantly contribute to improving teacher performance, both directly and indirectly. The study suggests that school principals should continue strengthening instructional leadership practices, particularly by enhancing interaction with teachers and providing opportunities for professional development and training. Meanwhile, teachers are encouraged to continuously improve their performance by applying effective teaching strategies and comprehensive assessment methods that evaluate not only students’ cognitive achievements but also their behavioral and moral development, supporting overall student success in the contemporary learning environment.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the application of Cognitive Behavioral Counseling with Cognitive Restructuring Techniques in increasing students' confidence in public speaking at SMA Negeri 12 Luwu Timur. Specifically, this research sought to understand the overview of students' confidence before and after the intervention, as well as how the cognitive behavioral counseling with cognitive restructuring techniques was implemented. A quantitative approach with a Quasi-experimental design model and a nonequivalent control group design was used in this study. The research population consisted of 71 ninth-grade students, with a sample of 20 students divided into an experimental group and a control group, each comprising 10 students, selected through proportional random sampling. Data were collected using public speaking confidence scale instruments and observation guidelines, then analyzed using descriptive statistics and the Wilcoxon test. The research results indicate that at the pretest stage, the public speaking confidence level of students in both groups (experimental and control) was in the low category. However, after the intervention, the experimental group's confidence level showed a significant increase, reaching a very high category in the posttest, while the control group remained in the low category. The implementation of Cognitive Behavioral Counseling with Cognitive Restructuring Techniques was carried out through five structured stages: rational treatment, analysis of the counselee's thoughts, introduction and practice of coping thoughts (CT), shifting from negative thoughts to CT, and positive reinforcement and evaluation. Student participation during this process was recorded as high. The significant difference between the two groups indicates that the application of Cognitive Behavioral Counseling with Cognitive Restructuring Techniques is effective in increasing students' confidence in public speaking.

Abstract

This article aims to examine and formulate strategies for the implementation of sustainable Islamic education through an integrative and inclusive program approach at SD Negeri 2 Karangnangka Bukateja Purbalingga. Islamic education plays a central role in shaping the character of students from an early age, but its implementation is often fragmented and fails to address the reality of diversity in the school environment. An inclusive integrative program is seen as a strategic approach that integrates religious material with social, cultural, and diversity values, as well as accommodating the needs of all students, including those with special needs. The method used in this study is qualitative with a case study approach at schools that have implemented inclusive principles in Islamic Religious Education. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The expected result is the formation of an integrative and inclusive Islamic Religious Education model or framework that is not only academically relevant but also applicable in the context of basic learning. Thus, this article is expected to contribute to the development of a more equitable, sustainable, and diversity-oriented education system.

Abstract

This study aims to increase students' acceptance of tradition at SMA Negeri 1 Mejobo Kudus, through group guidance services with cognitive restructuring techniques. Tradition plays an important role in the formation of character, morals, and collective identity, but globalization and modernization have led to a decline in the participation and appreciation of the younger generation towards tradition. This study uses a quantitative approach with a One Group Pre-test Post-test design involving 8 students as a sample selected by stratified random sampling. The results of the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test show a significant increase in the acceptance score towards tradition from an average of 103.125 (low category) to 184.125 (very high category), with a significance value of 0.012 <0.05. So it can be concluded that group guidance services with cognitive restructuring techniques are effective in changing students' negative mindsets towards tradition to be more positive and rational, thereby increasing students' involvement and appreciation of traditional values.

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education (PAI) in the digital era faces serious challenges due to fundamental shifts in the characteristics and learning needs of students who are increasingly immersed in digital ecosystems. This study aims to analyze the characteristics and learning needs of PAI students in the digital era as a basis for developing Merdeka Curriculum-based learning designs. A qualitative approach was employed using library research method through content analysis of relevant scientific literature. The findings reveal that PAI students in the digital era are characterized as digital natives with visual and interactive learning preferences; they require contextual content, varied digital media, active-collaborative methods, and differentiated approaches. The learning environment is marked by opportunities such as expanded access and gamification, while simultaneously threatened by digital distraction and unverified religious content. Based on these findings, a responsive PAI learning design under the Merdeka Curriculum can be constructed upon five core principles: differentiated learning, pedagogical technology integration, Pancasila Student Profile reinforcement, Islamic project-based learning, and authentic digital assessment.
