Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between social media addiction and academic procrastination among students through a systematic literature review guided by PRISMA. Article searches were conducted using the Publish or Perish application with three databases, namely Google Scholar, Scopus, and Semantic Scholar. Seven articles from various databases were qualitatively analyzed to identify the relationship between the two variables. The findings show that the majority of studies found a positive and significant relationship between the two variables, and factors such as perseverance and loneliness also strengthen this relationship. These findings have important implications for efforts to prevent academic procrastination in the educational environment.

Abstract

This study aims to test the effect of the application of the Project Based Learning (PBL) learning model based on differentiated learning on the speech text writing skills of grade VII students at SMP Negeri 5 Tobadak. This study used an experimental design with a pretest and posttest to measure the improvement of speech writing skills before and after the application of the learning model. The study sample consisted of 22 students who were randomly selected simply, divided into an experimental group and a control group. The results showed that the experimental group that received the differentiated learning-based PBL model treatment experienced a significant improvement in speech text writing skills, with the average posttest score increasing from 59.5 on the pretest to 85.3, or an increase of 25.8 points. Meanwhile, the control group that followed conventional learning only increased by 12.6 points (from 60.5 to 73.1). These results show that the application of the PBL learning model based on differentiated learning is more effective in improving speech text writing skills compared to conventional learning. This learning model is able to accommodate different learning styles, interests, and readiness of students, so that they can improve their comprehension, creativity, and writing skills more optimally. These findings provide empirical evidence that contextual and differentiational learning strategies are effective in improving learning outcomes, especially in speech writing skills at the junior high school level.

Abstract

This study aims to examine how Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers design PAI learning using Wordwall media to support the learning process at SMPIT At-Taufiq in Depok City. The indicators investigated include the implementation of Wordwall-based instructional design by PAI teachers, as well as the interaction between teachers and students during the PAI learning process using the Wordwall platform. The research method employed is a case study with a qualitative approach. Data collection procedures involved observation, interviews, and documentation. Data validity was tested through triangulation of sources, techniques, and time. Data were analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The findings reveal that the implementation of PAI learning using Wordwall media consists of three stages: pre-learning, the learning process, and post-learning. PAI learning with Wordwall aligns with Vygotsky's constructivist learning theory, providing a comprehensive approach through digital learning in a game-based environment. Students appeared more focused in understanding the material, enthusiastic, and actively collaborated during group discussions.

Abstract

This study examines the problems faced by the sandwich generation in practicing birrul walidain (devotion to parents), when religious values are confronted with complex social, economic, and psychological pressures. The sandwich generation refers to those who are simultaneously responsible for caring for elderly parents and other family members such as children or siblings, amidst financial and emotional constraints. Within this dynamic, the practice of filial devotion has undergone a shift in meaning, transforming from an act of worship into a form of compulsion. This research employs a qualitative approach with digital ethnography methods, and data were collected from Twitter and TikTok between 2019 and 2024. The findings reveal five main forms of problems: the shifting meaning of birrul walidain, financial pressure, physical and mental exhaustion, the dilemma between sincerity and compulsion, and the impact on personal life decisions. One of the root causes is the imbalance in relationships between parents and children, in which moral demands on children are very high but not accompanied by proportional parental responsibility. Several respondents voiced emotional wounds resulting from unfair or manipulative parenting patterns. On the other hand, there is a difference in moral standards: in Western contexts, filial piety is often limited to financial support, whereas in Islam, birrul walidain is comprehensive and lifelong, though it is frequently implemented without empathy for the child’s reality. Respondents do not reject the teachings of birrul walidain but seek a healthier and fairer form of practice. In the discussion, the approach of muhasabah is offered as a form of spiritual reflection, enabling the sandwich generation to fulfill their religious duties without losing inner balance. The recommendations include recontextualizing the teachings of birrul walidain, educating for healthy family relationships, and providing more empathetic social and spiritual support.

Abstract

This study aims to see an overview of the relationship between the level  of self-compassion and empathy in final year students at the State University of Jakarta (UNJ) and Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University (UNTIRTA), and relate it to the urgency of the role of Guidance and Counseling services in universities. The approach used was quantitative descriptive, with a sampling technique using convenience sampling techniques for the number of respondents as many as 110 students (55 from UNJ and 55 from UNTIRTA). This study aims to get an overview and relationship  of self-compassion and empathy in final year BK students. The instruments used are the Self-Compassion Scale (SCS) and the Empathy Assessment Scale (EAS). The results showed that the average self-compassion score  in UNJ and UNTIRTA students was 75.64, with a standard deviation of 7.069, which shows a relatively good and stable level of self-concept in both universities. However, there is a striking difference in the level of empathy. UNJ students have an average EAS score of 76.07 with a wide range (36–87), while UNTIRTA students have a lower average EAS score, which is 56.53, with a narrower range (46–61). As many as 86% of students are in the category of moderate empathy, 9% low, and only 5% have high empathy. These findings suggest that although final year students have a fairly good level of self-acceptance, empathic abilities have not been optimally developed. This has important implications for guidance and counseling services, namely the need to prepare intervention programs that are directed at strengthening emotional awareness and empathy through individual, group, and social-emotional counseling.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the innovation of the Islamic Religious Education (PAI) curriculum at SMAIT Nururrahman, particularly in the aspects of curriculum design, instructional implementation, religious habituation, and the supporting and inhibiting factors that influence its enactment. This qualitative case study involved PAI teachers, the vice principal for curriculum affairs, and students as key informants. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldana. The findings show that SMAIT Nururrahman integrates the Independent Curriculum with an Islamic-based curriculum emphasizing worship habituation, tahfiz programs, and character centered learning. Innovations are reflected in various learning methods such as discussion, case studies, PBL, PJBL, and the use of digital technology through LMS and interactive media. Religious habituation such as daily Qur’an recitation, congregational prayers, MABIT, and dauroh effectively contributes to students’ spiritual development. Supporting factors include teacher commitment, adequate facilities, and school policies, while challenges arise from limited technological mastery among some teachers and classroom management issues during certain learning hours. Overall, the innovation of the PAI curriculum at SMAIT Nururrahman positively impacts students’ discipline, learning motivation, and religious character.
