Abstract

The development of technology is currently growing rapidly followed by other developments. One of which is in the education field which is progressively integrated with technology. The implementation of education which is integrated with technology has been widely found, one of which is in geography subject. This is supported by the increased use of smartphone for learning. Android as smartphone operating system is chosen because it has the advantage of being open source, so it can produce interactive learning media focusing on the learning. The objective of this research is to produce an interactive learning medium with MIT App Inventor platform on the sub-material about the distribution of mining goods in Indonesia. This research used ADDIE method consisting of needs analysis and problem identification, designing android-based interactive learning media designs, producing android-based interactive learning media designs, conducting experts’ validation and conducting trials. Validation was assessed by two experts, namely media and material experts. Meanwhile, trials were conducted individually (teacher) and collectively (students). The results of this study show that this media obtains 98% from a media expert, 82% from a material expert, 88% from individual trial by the teacher and 89% from small groups trial by the students. Overall, this study denotes that this media is classified as highly feasible to be implemented in learning.

Abstract

This study explores the differences and similarities in the use of modal expressions "be going to" and "will" between English and Gorontalonese, a language spoken in the Gorontalo region of Indonesia. The modal expressions "be going to" and "will" are commonly used in English to indicate future actions, intentions, or predictions. However, their usage may vary across languages and dialects. Through a comparative analysis of authentic language data, including texts and conversations, this research investigates how speakers of English and Gorontalonese employ these modal expressions in different contexts. The study examines factors such as grammatical structure, semantic nuances, and cultural influences that may contribute to the variation in the usage of "be going to" and "will" between the two languages. The findings provide insights into the linguistic features of modal expressions in English and Gorontalonese, shedding light on cross-linguistic differences and contributing to the field of comparative linguistics.

Abstract

This research investigates the impact of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) education on student interest and technology integration in Indonesian secondary schools through a quantitative analysis. A sample of 250 students was surveyed, and data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling with Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The results reveal significant relationships between STEAM education, student interest, and technology integration. The measurement model demonstrates robust reliability and validity, while discriminant validity is supported. The structural model indicates that STEAM education positively influences both student interest and technology integration, with student interest mediating the relationship between STEAM education and technology. The study provides practical implications for educational practices, emphasizing the importance of transdisciplinary collaboration and effective teaching strategies to enhance student interest and foster technology integration in secondary education.

Abstract

This research investigates the impact of science teaching methods and digital literacy on the development of science literacy among junior high school students in Indonesia. A quantitative analysis employing structural equation modeling (SEM-PLS) was conducted on a sample of 150 students. Descriptive statistics revealed moderate science literacy levels, preferences for hands-on experiments, and a high proficiency in digital literacy. SEM-PLS results demonstrated significant positive relationships between science teaching methods, digital literacy, and science literacy. The bootstrapping analysis confirmed these relationships, emphasizing the importance of both factors in shaping science literacy outcomes. The model exhibited a strong fit, and coefficients indicated substantial explanatory and predictive power for Developing Science Literacy. These findings contribute to the understanding of effective educational strategies for science literacy in the Indonesian context.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the power and political influence in sports in Indonesia. In this study, the author used a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through literature review. The results of the study showed that power and political influence greatly affect the development of sports in Indonesia, from the development of infrastructure, organization of sporting events, to the recruitment of athletes and coaches. Political influence also affects the integrity of sports, such as doping cases and cheating in competitions. In addition, power and political influence can have a negative impact on athletes and coaches, such as political intervention in technical decisions and the appointment of incompetent people as sports administrators. However, there have been several efforts made by the government and society to reduce the negative impact of power and political influence in sports, such as the formation of independent institutions and increasing awareness of sports integrity. Therefore, the conclusion of this study is that it is important to pay attention to the role and political influence in the development of sports in Indonesia, as well as taking appropriate steps to maintain integrity and minimize the negative impact of power and political influence in sports.

Abstract

This study investigates the role of multimedia integration in teaching Islamic religion and its impact on student satisfaction with interactive learning in Islamic boarding schools in Indonesia. Using a quantitative research design, data were collected from 160 students through a structured questionnaire and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS 3). The findings indicate that multimedia integration significantly enhances the effectiveness of teaching Islamic religion (Path Coefficient = 0.625, p < 0.001), improves student satisfaction (Path Coefficient = 0.664, p < 0.001), and promotes interactive learning (Path Coefficient = 0.686, p < 0.001). Additionally, effective teaching of Islamic religion positively influences interactive learning (Path Coefficient = 0.403, p < 0.001), and higher student satisfaction contributes to more interactive learning experiences (Path Coefficient = 0.234, p = 0.003). The findings emphasize the significance of incorporating multimedia technologies in religious education to provide captivating and efficient learning settings. These findings provide significant knowledge for educators and policymakers who seek to improve the standard of religious teaching in Islamic boarding schools.
